Ce travail de thèse se propose d'étudier l'intérêt tout particulier que porte Amin Maalouf, dans son œuvre,à la notion d'identité, qui se révèle complexe, entre réalité historique et imaginaire littéraire. elle nous apparaît dans ses romans comme une donnée instable, sans cesse en construction dans le temps ainsi que dans l'espace où elle se trouve. il essaie de restituer le passé sans tomber dans le roman historique. La question d'identité se pose alors en termes d'héritage d'une mémoire collectif. grâce à une écriture pleine de sensation, de couleurs et de poésie, Maalouf nous plonge dans l'histoire afin de tirer la singularité de chaque individu. on évoquera ainsi la spécificité de son regard et de son écriture. il tente de cerner les rapports entre ; identité et sens historique, vérité et fiction, expérience individuelle et mémoire collective. il tente de capter, au milieu de cette quête permanente, l'instant où chacun se rencontre avec l'autre. / This thesis focused on the particular interest of Amin Maalouf, in his work, in the notion of identity, which is complex, between historical reality and literary imagination. It appears to us in his novels very unstable, constantly under construction in time and space where it is located. The author tries to restore the past without falling into the historical novel.
