Syftet med studien var att få kunskap om behandlare resonerar kring sitt arbete med ungdomar i ett drogmissbruk samt hur detta kan förstås som en pedagogisk praktik. Metodologiska utgångspunkten i studien utgick från en hermeneutisk kvalitativ ansats med halvstrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuer genomfördes med fem olika behandlare på fyra HVB-hem på olika platser i Sverige. Med stöd av det relationella perspektivet har resultatet analyserats. Resultatet visade att respondenterna beskrev att de arbetade med relation, motivation och delaktighet samt att vara trygga och stabila vuxna till ungdomarna. Slutsatsen av studien tyder på att det är relationen och inte insatserna som är det viktigaste i behandlingen av ungdomar med drogmissbruk. Behandlingsarbete kan förstås som en pedagogisk praktik i och med att behandlarna utför ett förändringsarbete med ungdomarna genom att vara delaktiga tillsammans i en ömsesidig relationsprocess och använda målmedvetna beteenden som syftar till att stimulera ungdomarna till att delta i denna relationsprocess. / The aim of the study was how practitioners' reason about their work with adolescents with drug abuse and how this can be understood as an educational practice. The methodological starting point in the study was based on a hermeneutic qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with five different therapists at four HVB homes in different places in Sweden. Based on the relational perspective, the result has been analyzed. The results showed that the respondents described that they worked with relationship, motivation and participation as well as being safe and stable adults for the adolescents. The conclusion of the study indicates it is the relationship and not the program’s treatment that is the most important when treating adolescents with drug abuse. Treatment work can be understood as a pedagogical practice as the practitioners carry out a change work with the adolescents. This by participating together in a mutal relationship process and using purposeful behaviors aimed at stimulating the adolescents to participate in this relationship process.
