Bild och akustik : Klassrummets ljudlandskap / The artclassroom and acoustics : The classrooms Soundscape

Around Sweden there are thousands and thousands of classrooms, and the majority of those classrooms adapt after the subject and what practice that is taking place within the space. In my experience (both during and before Konstfack) where I could find a classroom where art practice is taking place, the space tends to expand. And together with that the sound and the acoustics becomes different from other spaces within the school. The school is a place where we build our future generation but also a place for young people to feel safe, grow as individuals and a place for exploring. It’s important for the school spaces for the grown-upgenerations to give those materials, possibilities, and spaces to build a curiosity within the students, to develop.Thisstudy concerns safe spaces and how to make students comfortable, with a focus on the acoustic and the sounds within the art spaces. What impact it has on the students learning and how do they get affected.I have decided that in my research I want to investigate an environment where art is the main practice. What does the acoustic sound like in different art classrooms and how do they affect students’ wellbeing? This study will discuss the students’ different ways to move and act around the art classroomsacoustics. This study points on how important it is to have a knowledge and awareness abouthow different every student experience is when it comes to acoustics within the artclassroom.
