Bakgrund: Tidigare forskning visar att anhöriga till patienter som avlidit på sjukhus upplever brister i kommunikation samt emotionellt stöd och önskar mer tid och tillgänglighet. Anhöriga ser problem med att få och ta emot information i en situation som beskrivs som kaotisk, likt en emotionell kris. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter vid möten med anhöriga i sorg vid plötsliga dödsfall. Metod: En allmän litteraturöversikt med en induktiv design. Resultat: I resultatet identifierades fyra teman. Sjuksköterskan menar att relationer och kommunikation var en viktig del kring mötet med anhöriga samtidigt som emotionella reaktioner försvårade situationen. Sjuksköterskans erfarenheter visade att det fanns försvårande faktorer i arbetsmiljön samt bristande kompetens som påverkade möjligheten att ge stöd. Slutsats: Sjuksköterskans möte med anhöriga är en komplex men betydelsefull situation. Sjuksköterskors erfarenheter skiljer sig utefter arbetsmiljö, kompetens och övriga jämförbara förutsättningar. Sjuksköterskorna ser ett behov av feedback och utbildningsmöjligheter inom området. / Background: Previous research shows that families to patients who died a sudden death at a hospital experience insufficient information and emotional support and wish for more time and access regarding emotional support. Families suffer access and to understand information in a situation of emotional chaos and grief. Aim: The aim was to describe nurses' experiences meeting with the next of kin after the sudden death of a loved one. Method: A literature review with an inductive design. Results: Four themes were identified. Nurses mean that relations and communication were important parts of the meeting with the next of kin, at the same time emotional reactions affected the outcome of the situation at hand. Nurses experienced that there were problematic factors in the work environment and a lack of competence which affected the possibility to provide support. Conclusion: Nurses´ meeting with next of kin is a complexed and important situation. Nurses' experiences are different due to work environment, competence and other comparable conditions. Nurses experience a need for feedback and possibilities for education in the subject.
