The issues regarding LGBTQ+ are relevant in today’s society, not least for young people who are forming their understanding of themselves and the society around them. School libraries are considered a valuable resource when addressing these issues in Swedish schools. However, the subject of how school libraries include LGBTQ+ perspectives in their work is a relatively unexplored area of research. The aim of this study is to contribute to the field of research within Library and Information Science by exploring how the Swedish school libraries work with LGBTQ+. A questionnaire was sent to school library staff working with students in primary and secondary schools in Sweden. The results from this study show which methods are most commonly used by school library staff when addressing LGBTQ+ issues and also what support they have and use concerning this work. The authors also conclude that more research is needed to gain further insight into the subject of how Swedish school libraries work with LGBTQ+.
