Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur samhällsplanerare i Karlstads kommun har hanterat de rådande restriktionerna gällande Covid-19 i sitt arbete samt huruvida Covid-19 och restriktionerna kan ha påverkat arbetet med det offentliga rummet i Karlstads kommun. Arbetet utfördes genom intervjuer med samhällsplanerare på Karlstads kommun som sedan transkriberades och analyserades genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Den första slutsatsen som drogs i undersökningen var att Karlstads kommun har hanterat och prioriterat deras arbete på flera sätt för att möta och följa de rådande restriktionerna. Ett exempel är att samhällsplanerarna förlorade kontakten med närmiljön men löste det genom att digitalisera arbetssättet. Den andra slutsatsen var att restriktionerna inte påverkat arbetet med det offentliga rummet mycket i dagsläget men att samhällsplanerarna har många spekulationer och ser flera potentiella effekter utav Covid-19 pandemin och de medförda restriktionerna i sitt arbete, dock är det fortfarande ett tidigt skede för att kunna konstatera det. En av de potentiella effekterna som nämndes var att invånarnas resmönster och kollektivtrafiken påverkats av restriktionerna. / The purpose of the study is to see how community planners in Karlstad municipality have handled the current restrictions regarding Covid-19 in their work and if Covid-19 and the restrictions may have affected the work with public space in Karlstad municipality. The work was carried out through interviews with community planners in Karlstad municipality, which were then transcribed and analyzed through a qualitative content analysis. The first conclusion drawn in the survey was that the community planners in Karlstad Municipality have managed and prioritized their work in several ways to meet and follow the current restrictions. One example is that community planners lost contact with the local environment but solved it by digitizing the working method. The second conclusion was that the restrictions did not affect the work with the public space in the current situation, but that the community planners have many speculations and see several potential effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions in their work, however, it is still an early stage to be able to state it. One of the potential effects mentioned was that residents' travel patterns and public transport may have been affected by the restrictions.
