Currently, in an attempt to reverse this, a new proposal for attention on these social subjects, which aims to provide a more humane and targeted treatment for inclusion emerges through extra-hospital care devices implemented with the advent of the Psychiatric Reform. It is against this new social reality promoted by the psychiatric reform that this work was developed with the purpose of knowing and analyzing the representational content of mental health professionals about the crazy/mentally disease and of the Psychiatric Reform. Are two descriptive studies, qualitative in psychiatric institutions and CAPS in the cities of Campina Grande and João Pessoa. In the empirical part of this dissertation, the Study 1 aimed to identify the structure of social representations about the crazy/mentally disease and psychiatric reform in order to describe and analyze the elements of the core and peripheral system constituents of these representations, included a sample of 100 professionals in the mental health system and the instruments used were: sociodemographic questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistical and technique of free association words, with the stimulus: disease mental, crazy and psychiatric reform, analyzed from EVOC software. Study 2, had purpose to understand and analyze the social representations made by mental health professionals about the crazy/mentally disease and psychiatric reform through semi-structured interview and the conjugate method analysis by ALCESTE software and a thematic content analysis. Study 2 involved with a sample of 38 mental health professionals. In both studies, the instruments were applied in the work of the professional environment, individually and with the help of writer, having all needed ethical care when performed research with humans. The results show a representation still stigmatized by users of mental health services, anchored mainly by social disability. The crazy/mentally disease is recognized as someone who experiences intense suffering, victim of prejudice and requires care and treatment. According to the professionals, the psychiatric reform and deployment of substitute services have not yet been able to change the social reality of these people, and although the Reformation is represented as a change, an improvement in the treatment offered, are the faults new mental health policy which leads, in some cases, in a positioning opposed to reform since the psychiatric hospitals are still designed as required by some professionals. / A visão estigmatizada do louco/doente mental prevaleceu ao longo dos tempos e levou à exclusão social desses indivíduos, fazendo-os viverem à margem da sociedade dita normal. Atualmente, em uma tentativa de inversão desse quadro, surge uma nova proposta de atenção voltada para esses sujeitos sociais, que visa oferecer um tratamento mais humanizado e voltado para a inclusão, através de dispositivos de atendimento extra-hospitalar implementados com o advento da Reforma Psiquiátrica. É diante dessa nova realidade social promovida pela Reforma Psquiátrica que este trabalho se desenvolveu com o objetivo de conhecer e analisar os conteúdos representacionais dos profissionais de saúde mental acerca do louco/doente mental e da Reforma Psiquiátrica. Trata-se de dois estudo descritivos, qualitativos, realizados em instituições psiquiátricas e CAPS nas cidades de Campina Grande e João Pessoa. Na parte empírica desta dissertação, o Estudo 1 teve como objetivo identificar a estrutura das representações sociais sobre o louco/doente mental e a Reforma Psiquiátrica, a fim de descrever e analisar os elementos do núcleo central e sistema periférico constituintes dessas representações, contemplou uma amostra de 100 profissionais da rede de saúde mental e os instrumentos utilizados foram: questionário sociodemográfico, análisado através de estatística descritiva e a Técnica de Associação Livre de Palavras, com os estímulos: Doente Mental, Louco e Reforma Psiquiátrica, analisada a partir do software EVOC. O Estudo 2, buscou conhecer e analisar as representações sociais elaboradas por profissionais de saúde mental acerca do louco/doente mental e da Reforma Psiquiátrica através de entrevista semiestruturada e o método conjugado de análise, por meio do software ALCESTE e de uma análise temática de conteúdo. O Estudo 2 contou com uma amostra de 38 profissionais de saúde mental. Nos dois estudos os instrumentos foram aplicados no ambiente de trabalho dos profissionais, individualmente e com o auxílio de gravador, tendo-se todos os cuidados éticos necessários quando realizada pesquisa com seres humanos. Os resultados apontam uma representação ainda estigmatizada dos usuários da rede de saúde mental, ancorada sobretudo pela incapacidade social. O louco/doente mental é reconhecido como alguém que vivencia um intenso sofrimento, vítima de preconceito e que necessita de cuidados e tratamento. Segundo os profissionais, a Reforma Psiquiátrica e a implantação dos serviços substitutivos não foram ainda capazes de modificar a realidade social dessas pessoas, e muito embora a Reforma seja representada como uma mudança, uma melhoria no tratamento ofertado, são reconhecidas falhas na nova política de saúde mental que desemboca, em alguns casos, em um posicionamento contrário à Reforma, uma vez que os hospitais psiquiátricos ainda são concebidos por alguns profissionais como necessários.
