Precis i utkanten av den anrika trästaden Mariefreds stadskärna ligger Hotellet för skapandeverksamhet. Tomtens läge i förhållande till staden, kombinerat med de natursköna vyerna över Mälaren, gör läget till ett av stadens bästa. Här erbjuds närhet till både historia, kultur och natur.Hotellet för skapandeverksamhet är lika mycket en mötesplats för Mariefredsbor som det är en tillflyktsort för konstnärer. Den lekfulla träbyggnaden inrymmer två former av långtidsboende för människor som ägnar sig åt skapandeverksamhet, generösa ateljéer och arbetslokaler, en publik del med restaurant, bar och takterrass. Hit kommer målare för att utnyttja ateljélokalerna, författare som söker lugn och koncentration samt, under sommaren, turister som får ta del av utställningar av konsten som producerats på hotellet.Projektet undersöker planlösningen som verktyg för en effektiv och spännande rumsdisposition. Byggnadskropparnas placering i förhållande till varandra, mellanrummen som uppstår mellan byggnadskropparna samt placeringen och gestaltningen av kommunikationsytor är exempel på metoder som syftar till att skapa intressanta och funktionella rumsligheter. / Just at the outskirts of the traditional wooden town centre of Mariefred, the Hotel for Creativity is located. The location of the site in relation to the city, combined with the beautiful natural scenery, makes the site one of the most attractive places in the city.The Hotel for Creativity is equally a place for social interaction between locals as it is a refuge for artists. The playful wooden building houses two types of long term stay for people working with artistic creations, generous studio spaces, a public part with restaurant, bar and a roof terrace. The hotel attracts painters in need of studios, authors looking for peace and concentration as well as tourists who, during the summer, can appreciate exhibitions of the art produced at the hotel.The project examines the floor plan as a tool for creating an efficient and exciting disposition of rooms. The relative placement of house volumes, the spaces generated in between the buildings and the placement and design of communication areas are all examples of methods intending to create interesting and functional spaces.
