2020 is the year that is likely to be associated with the Covid-19 pandemic for a long time to come. The Covid-19 pandemic shook the world and changed markets and affected people's everyday lives, both privately and at work. In addition to the Covid-19 pandemic consequences for human health and well being, organizations and employees' relationship to their workplace was also affected, as increased telework became the new norm. One industry that was exposed to major challenges was the school system since the Swedish government decided that schools should be kept open as far as possible. Despite the fact that schools were expected to continue more or less as usual, schools were characterized by a more digital way of working, where upper secondary schools were the schools that would primarily conduct more teaching at a distance. Based on this, this study was based on whether the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic have affected the staff in upper secondary schools in the form of new working methods, routines and behaviors that may be affected in the new way of working. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on organizational culture. The study was based on a leadership perspective and aimed to examine variations in principals' perceptions of how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the organizational culture. Furthermore, the study aimed to examine the lessons and insights that the principals have identified in connection with this. With a phenomenographic approach, interviews were conducted with eight principals at municipal upper secondary schools in Stockholm. The study showed that the organizational culture among the staff was influenced by the digital way of working and the starting point in which the schools were before the Covid-19 pandemic. This was identified as both opportunities and challenges among the principals. Thus, there were variations in whether the principals perceived that the organizational culture was strengthened or weakened during the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it was also shown in this study that the influence of organizational culture contributed to lessons and insights regarding opportunities for organizational change, digital development and a changed leadership. / <p>Slutseminatirum ägde rum den 2 juni 2022 på Södertörns Högskola. </p>
