Nowadays, tourism is an activity that presents an expressive growth worldwide. It provides a market work in several fields, being an income generator and contributing to the improvement and the quality of the places that have conditions to work with it. It is necessary to have in mind that the tourist practice produces negative effects and is harmful to the environment and ecosystems in general. Therefore, this activity began to be developed under a new environmental paradigm, taking into account the most significant pillars of sustentability, otherwise it would harm the environment and have a decay in tourism. This work had as objective to analyze tourism as an economic growth
factor of the city and evaluate the environmental impact caused by local industries that might harm tourism. In its development besides bibliography research, a questionnaire was made aiming to make a diagnosis of the city. The interview was useful also to obtain data about tourism economic income and the local economy. It was used a spreadsheet with this income data to compare the
economic sustentability of the local tourism. Using the spreadsheet of environmental impact evaluation it was verified the situation of the main industries in relation to tourism. After the analysis of all factors it was verified that the community involved considers local tourism as an economic
growth promoter, praise its potential and hopes its patrimony will be secured as mankind patrimony. The environmental impacts evaluated are little noticeable and specific not exerting any influence over the local tourism yet. The economy generated by the tourism activity is still small, that is 0.73% of the city income, much smaller than the agribusiness, the predominant activity. The conclusion is
that the city does not show considerable environmental impact that can influence tourism nowadays, at the same time the tourism is still insufficient as an economic contribution to local economy. / Atualmente o turismo é uma das atividades que apresenta um crescimento expressivo, em nível mundial. Oportuniza um mercado de trabalho nas mais diversas áreas, sendo gerador de renda e contribuindo com a melhoria e a qualidade dos locais que tem condições para desenvolver este segmento. Deve-se ter em mente que a prática turística produz efeitos negativos e prejuízos sobre o meio ambiente e ecossistemas em geral. Em vista disto esta atividade passou a ser realizada sob o novo paradigma ambiental, levando em conta os pilares mais significativos da sustentabilidade sob pena de ver esgotado o próprio meio ambiente e o decréscimo do turismo. Este trabalho objetivou analisar o turismo como fator de crescimento econômico do município e a avaliação dos
impactos ambientais provocados pelas indústrias locais que possam prejudicar o turismo. Para o seu desenvolvimento além do levantamento bibliográfico, elaborou-se um questionário visando o diagnóstico do município. A entrevista também serviu para se obter os dados sobre a arrecadação
econômica do turismo e da economia local. Utilizou-se também de uma planilha com esses dados de arrecadação para se comparar a sustentabilidade econômica do turismo local. Com o uso da planilha de avaliação de impactos ambientais verificou-se a situação das principais industrias em
relação ao turismo. Após a análise de todos os fatores verificou-se que a comunidade envolvida considera o turismo local como desenvolvimento econômico, valoriza seu potencial e deseja que o seu patrimônio seja tombado como patrimônio da humanidade. Os impactos ambientais avaliados são pouco perceptíveis e pontuais não influenciando o turismo local ainda. A economia gerada pela atividade turística ainda é pequena, ou, seja 0,73% de arrecadação municipal, bastante inferior ao agronegócio, atividade predominante. À conclusão que se tem é de que o município não apresenta impactos ambientais consideráveis que possam influenciar o turismo atualmente, ao mesmo tempo em que o setor econômico do turismo ainda mostra-se insuficiente como contribuição para a
economia local.
