Genom att läsa Skolinspektionens granskningsrapport från 2014, Teknik – gör det osynliga synligt, förstår jag att problemen med skolämnet teknikämnet är många. Brist på behörig alärare och svårigheter med att tolka syfte, kunskapskraven och det centrala innehållet framhålls. Skolverkets statistik 2020 säger dessutom att andelen behöriga tekniklärare minskar från 48,6 % läsåret 18/19 till 47,5 % läsåret 19/20 (Skolverket, 2020) även om antalet behöriga lärare generellt har ökat med 17,6 % i hela landet. Endast ämnet ”svenska som andraspråk” med 41,1 % behöriga lärare ligger sämre till. Med det som bakgrund är jag intresserad av att fördjupa mig inom och undersöka hur elever, lärare och rektorer ser på teknikämnet. Uppsatsen presenterar en undersökning av vad elever i årskurs 9, lärare samt skolledning uttrycker gällande skolämnet teknik. Samtliga aktörer har svarat på en enkät med 3 frågor varav de 2 första var gemensamma och den tredje specifik för gruppen. I undersökningen har jag intresserat mig för vilka attityder till teknikundervisning som framträder. Denna studies resultat visar att attityderna är positiva till att man läser teknik i skolan men ämnet anses av både elever och lärare som mindre viktigt och ämnets i vissa fall ensidiga innehåll och syfte ifrågasätts av vissa elever. Några av de attitydprofiler som kommit fram är: • Teknik är underordnat mänskliga, sociala och biologiska aspekter - som är viktigare för mig. • Teknik är för ensidigt inriktat mot teknikyrken. Jag vill ha en bredare bas, jag vill vara mer allmänbildad. • Teknik är positivt, vårt samhälle bygger på det och vi behöver kunskaper. Bra attkombinera med andra ämnen Som ni ser är de både positiva och negativa och det visar en bred spridning på hur teknikämnet i skolan uppfattas. / Through reading the said report I realized that the challenges with the technology subject are many. The lack of qualified teachers and difficulties in interpreting the purpose, thek nowledge requirements and the core content are emphasized. The National Agency for Education's statistics in Sweden for 2020 also mentions that the proportion of qualified technology teachers decreased from 48,6 % in the school year 18/19 to 47,5 % in 19/20 even though the general number of qualified teachers has increased by 17,6 % nationwide. Only the subject "Swedish as a second language" with 41.1 % qualified teachers is worse off. Based on that observation I am interested in immersing myself into the attitudes of students, teachers, study and career counsellors as well as principals towards the technology subject. The essay presents a survey of what students in year 9, teachers, school management and counsellors have expressed with regards to the technology subject. All respondents have answered a questionnaire with 3 questions, 2 of which were common for all groups and the third one specific for their respective sub-group. In my research, I have been interested in the attitudes towards technology teaching that emerge in the school. The outcome of the study shows that there is a positive attitude towards the technology subject but it is perceived as less important by both teachers and students and that the sometimes one-sided content and purpose is questioned by some students. Some of the attitudes that occur are: • Technology is subordinate to human, social and biological aspects, which are more important to me. • Technology is far too focused on the technology profession, I want to be more educated. • Technology is positive, it is the base of our society and we need the knowledge. Good to combine with other subjects in school. As you can see it´s both positive and negative opinions about technology in school and it shows a wide spread of how the subject is perceived in school.
