Bör kadetters praktiska erfarenhet öka under officersprogrammet? En enkätundersökning för framtidens officerare

A developing leadership is believed to influence the enthusiasm and performance in a positive way. The Swedish Armed Forces has since 2003 been using Gerry Larsson’s theory of the developing leadership as a base for leadership within the organization. This study deals with the subject of leadership, especially the developing leadership, which is a leadership theory according to which future officers are trained. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the leadership training that the cadets receive is purposefully linked to their future role as an officer. This is done by examining the cadets' feeling towards the education through a questionnaire survey and relating to the leadership theory. The results show that cadets experienced lack of practical experience with recruits and this affect their own leadership in a negative direction.  A circumstance like this can be a problem when these future officers meet their own recruits, and the lack of practical experience can show bad leadership. Furthermore, this study has proved that the Military Academy School Karlberg should provide cadets with less leadership experience more time to practice their own leadership with theoretical implements.
