Previous issue date: 2009-10-21 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This thesis is a reflection on rural tourism in Goiás, which goes beyond the
functional and economic approaches due to the belief that this sort of tourism is
attached to a world of significations that exits as it is. This complex object of study is
analyzed by two scopes of strategic movements. The first part describes the rural
tourism as reality and rationality constituted and in the process of being constituted
(in fien) and it was also reduced to some institutions and significations. The main
preoccupation was to develop a context of terms and entities, elements and relations
that would allow the rural tourism of Goiás to be conceived within its own structures,
functions as well as its history and significations. The rural tourism of Goiás was
treated as it is in reality of an institutionalized imaginary, focusing on the
contextualization of the scenery in which the object is in the state of Goiás.
The second part deals with the imaginary of the rural tourist, based on the
social imaginary of Goiás , of which society , since XIX century up until now, was
almost rural exclusively. In order to explore the imaginary of the rural tourist as a
world of significations, an empirical research was carried out. Tourists from five
different establishments of rural tourism situated in the region of Goiânia were
interviewed. It was not our ambition to comprehend the whole universe of remits and
significations of the imaginary of the tourist, but only to show some of their angles
and facets, in a oblique way. For the tourists, the countryside has an imaginary
signification, which makes them want to go there.
The analysis of the rural tourism of Goiás: Imaginary contexts was made
according to the complex thought of Edgar Morin and by categories developed by
Corneliu Castoriadis. Based on the perception of the process in fieri of the
investigated object, which is on continuously creation and transformation,
considerations and conclusions were let open to the reader / Esta tese constrói uma reflexão sobre o turismo rural de Goiás,
transcendendo à abordagem econômico/funcional, por acreditar ser essa
modalidade de turismo inseparável de um mundo de significações que a faz existir e
ser tal como é. Tratamos a complexidade desse objeto de pesquisa pelo esboço de
dois movimentos estratégicos. Uma primeira parte descreve o turismo rural como
realidade e racionalidade constituída e constituindo-se (in fieri), reduzindo-o a
algumas instituições e significações. A preocupação foi desenvolver um contexto de
termos e entidades, de elementos e relações que permitissem conceber o turismo
rural de Goiás com suas estruturas e funções, e também com sua história e suas
significações. Tratou-se aqui o turismo rural goiano como ele é na realidade de um
imaginário instituído, focando-se a atenção na contextualização do cenário em que o
objeto se insere o estado de Goiás.
A segunda parte dedicou-se a explorar o imaginário rural do turista, ancorada
no imaginário social de Goiás, cuja sociedade, durante todo o século XIX e até bem
recentemente, revestia-se de caráter quase exclusivamente rural. Para explorar o
imaginário de rural do turista como mundo de significações, recorremos à pesquisa
empírica. Foram entrevistados turistas em cinco estabelecimentos de turismo rural
localizados na Região Metropolitana de Goiânia. Não ambicionamos captar todo o
feixe de significações ou sondar todo o universo de remissões que regem o
processo imaginário do turista, mas apenas projetar alguns de seus ângulos e
facetas, de maneira necessariamente oblíqua, valendo-nos da natureza especular
do imaginário rural do turista. Para o turista, o campo tem significação imaginária, o
que faz que ele o procure.
A análise acerca do Turismo Rural de Goiás: Contextos Imaginários foi
conduzida por operadores do Pensamento Complexo de Edgar Morin e pelas
categorias desenvolvidas por Cornelius Castoriadis. Com base na percepção do
processo in fieri do objeto estudado, incessantemente criando-se e transformandose,
deixam-se em aberto considerações e/ou conclusões para o leitor
