232790.pdf: 710056 bytes, checksum: dd410cfe4ea1c19193038805f779768f (MD5) / Compreendendo que a televisão tornou-se fonte importante de divulgação científica e tecnológica, decidimos analisar discursos sobre ciência, no telejornal de maior audiência no Brasil: o Jornal Nacional (JN). Utilizando-nos do referencial Análise do Discurso Francesa, buscamos verificar como o JN produz sentidos sobre conceitos científicos, sobre as imagens dos cientistas, para constituir, ao final, os sentidos sobre ciência, através da análise das condições de produção dos discursos vinculada à análise das reportagens. Para tal, foram gravadas edições do JN durante dois meses e selecionadas as reportagens que tivessem os temas genética e biotecnologia como referente central. Emergem destas análises visões
essencialmente utilitaristas da ciência e da tecnologia, vinculadas a um modelo linear de desenvolvimento (quanto mais ciência, mais tecnologia, mais desenvolvimento econômico e mais bem-estar social). As decisões sobre Biotecnologia aparecem como distantes do público em geral, tornando-se objeto de estudo e debate apenas de determinadas instâncias políticas ou científicas. As religiões, no que diz respeito a questões polêmicas vinculadas a aspectos morais, têm menos espaço nas discussões e são significadas através de recortes de afirmações
contundentes, enquanto a ciência recebe maior espaço e expõe argumentos, explicações e justificativas para seus posicionamentos. Os conceitos científicos são explicados em função de sua utilidade imediata e estas explicações, muitas vezes, são construídas de forma muito similar às explicações escolares, porém, sempre justificando a necessidade de aprovação e adesão pública das pesquisas tecnocientíficas. Apesar de percebermos um esforço para a espetacularização e polemização das notícias, percebemos também, que as reportagens acabam justificando as pesquisas científicas, quase nunca expondo implicações éticas e morais que possam levar o público a questionar um avanço da mesma. Ao mesmo tempo, percebemos como os discursos do Jornal Nacional ocultam jogos políticos e relações de poder diversas, valendo-se de uma espetacularização da C&T. Ao finalizar estas análises destacamos a relevância de se apontar para a escola como espaço de possível debate dos discursos midiáticos, com a intenção de problematizar as questões científicas e tecnológicas, tão influentes nas vidas de todos, ampliando-se assim, a filiação de sentidos dos estudantes para outras possibilidades discursivas, além das construídas pela mídia.
Recognizing that television has become an important source of scientific and technological popularization, we have decided to analyze the discourse on science, found in the broadcast news of greatest audience in Brazil: Jornal Nacional (JN). Utilizing as a reference French Discourse Analysis, we researched how JN produces meanings about scientific concepts, and
about the images of scientists, to constitute finally, the meanings of science, through the analysis of the conditions of discourse production connected to the analysis of the news reports. For this, several editions of JN were recorded during two months and the news report that had the themes genetics and biotechnology as a central referent, were selected. From
these investigations, we have results such some essentially utilitarian visions of science and technology, attached to a linear model of development (more science implies in more technology, which implies in more economic development, which implies in more social well-being). The decisions about science and technology appear to be distant from the general public, turning to object of study and debates only among some political or scientific
instances. The religions, concerning polemical questions entailed to moral aspects, have less space in the discussions e are signified through exerts of strong affirmations, while science gets more space and expose argumentations, explanations and justifications for its positions.
The scientific concepts are explained for it#s immediate utility and these explanations are, many times, built in a similar way as the scholar explanations, although, the first ones are always justifying the necessity of approval and the public sympathy for techno-scientific researches. Although we realize an effort for the spectacularization and polemization of the
news, we found that they seem to justify the researches in genetic and biotechnology, by never exposing ethical and moral implies that could make the public to question these works.
At the same time, we understand how the discourses of JN hide political games and power relations, by utilizing a spectacularization of science and technology. In order to close these reflections, we detach the relevancy of school as a space for debates of mediatic discourses, with the intention of putting in question biotechnological questions, which have such an
important influence in our lives, amplifying the meaning filiations of the students to other discursive possibilities, besides those, built by the media.
