Heder i skolan : Utmaningar och strategier för att hantera hedersrelaterade frågor inom skolvärlden / Honour in school : Challenges and strategies to handle honour-related questions within the schoolworld

Honour, a complex and in alot of ways scientifically unexplored topic, has caused a great debate in Swedish politics and media. A concept that has not only been a societal and judiciary issue but also a great challenge in Swedish schools; a place where knowledge, tolerance and respect is to be provided while battling the balance between discrimination and freedom of speech. With this study and exploration of honour in Swedish schools we aim contribute to a deeper understanding and management of honour-related issuses. By using data collection as the primary method, this study complies and analyzes relevant background background information to fully understand the meaning of honour. This is done by providing examples of various interpretations and delving into the complexity of the concept by presenting different theoretical perspectives. It addresses questions such as; how does honour manifest itself in Swedish schools? What are the research-bases measures for the issuse of honour in schools? Additionally, it examines the extent of students at risk of honour-related issues. The research also discusses methods and solutions developed by Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket), the government, and other researches in addressing honour-related problems in schools. in Sweden various studies have been conducted to gain an overview of the extent of honour-related violence and oppression within the country. However, there is a lack of consensus on the definition of honour within the research. Scholars debate whether honour-related violence constitutes a unique form of violence or simply differ from men´s general violence against women. Despite this, there is an agreement that such violence is rooted in a partiarchal power structure. The dilemma surrounding the term "honour culture" is discussed and the importance of the intersectional perspective in creating an inclusive school environment is emphasized. The conclusion underscores the need for increased knowledge, awareness, and collaboration within the scool system to effectively address and prevent honour-related issues. Lastly, the study raises and discusses thoughts and notions regarding these measures in relation to school practices.
