Vilka är Sverigedemokraternas sympatisörer? : En kvantitativ studie om radikal högerpopulism i Sverige / Sverigedemokraternas sympatisörer? : En kvantitativ studie om radikal högerpopulism i Sverige

Khalid, Zhwan January 2014 (has links)
The aim of the current study was to examine the radical right-wing sympathizers in Sweden. To fulfill this aim, a quantitative case study on Sweden Democrats sympathizers was conducted. More specifically, this study has examined socio-economic backgrounds and political attitudes of the Sweden Democrat sympathizers. The results show that sympathizers of Sweden Democrats are higher among younger people and men. The results also show a higher support for Sweden Democrats among people with lower education and low income that also live in small towns and in the countryside. These individuals also have lower trust in political institutions at the national and European level and are less satisfied with democracy at both levels and believe that Sweden should reduce immigration. The theory explains that these results are also consistent in other parts of Europe. The underlying explanation for these results seems to be that the world has become amore globalized, and these individuals who sympathize with radical right-wing populist parties are the ones who are negatively affected by a globalized world.

Vad är högerpopulism? : En jämförande idéanalys mellan Sverigedemokraterna, Dansk Folkeparti och Fremskrittspartiet

Fransson, Fanny January 2015 (has links)
In this paper I propose a definition on what right-wing populism is, by comparing three right-wing populist parties; the Swedish Democrats in Sweden, the Danish Folks Party in Denmark and the Progress Party in Norway. This is also my question formulation. I have used the idea analysis to straighten out the concept of right-wing populism. The purpose of this paper is to make a definition of the concept of right-wing populism, since one seldom speaks of what right-wing populism is but rather only uses it with parties who want to decrease immigration. However is it much more to a right-wing populist party than just the immigration question.       I begin by discussing the previous research about populism and right-wing populism to see what conclusions previous researchers have made. The analysis is divided into three parts; one section for every party. Each analysis starts with a brief history about the party and then continues with the three areas I have chosen; how they look upon democracy, the ”people” and the immigrant-question. In my conclusion I compare the three parties with each other and find a definition of right-wing populism. My proposed definition is that a right-wing populist party advocates more direct democracy, want to preserve the culture in its country without involvement of other cultures and wants to decrease the immigration to the country.

Ideas of Gender in the Swedish Radical Right. : An Ideological comparative Study Between the Sweden Democrats, the Party of the Swedes and the Swedish Resistance Movement / Ideas of Gender in the Swedish Radical Right. : An Ideological comparative Study Between the Sweden Democrats, the Party of the Swedes and the Swedish Resistance Movement

Eriksson, Robin, Sandkvist, Linus January 2014 (has links)
This thesis analyses ideas of gender in the Swedish radical right. The aim of the study is to see if there are any differences or similarities in the way gender is being formulated by a populist radical right party as the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna), the extreme right party, Party of the Swedes (Svenskarnas Parti) and the extreme right movement Swedish Resistance Movement (Svenska Motståndsrörelsen). Ideas of gender are presented in the theory chapter which is used later on in the analysis to compare with the radical right organisations of Sweden. To fulfil the aim we have performed a comparative ideological analysis between the three organisations and the base for our analysis is texts from each organisation’s webpage. The study shows that the ideological differences concerning gender between populism and extremism in the Swedish radical right are relatively small

The Other Radicalism: an Inquiry into Contemporary Australian Extreme Right Ideology, Politics and Organisation 1975-1995.

Saleam, James January 2001 (has links)
This Thesis examines the ideology, politics and organization of the Australian Extreme Right 1975-1995. Its central interpretative theme is the response of the Extreme Right to the development of the Australian State from a conservative Imperial structure into an American "anti-communist" client state, and ultimately into a liberal-internationalist machine which integrated Australia into a globalized capitalist order. The Extreme Right after 1975 differed from the various paramilitaries of the 1930's and the conservative anti-communist auxiliary organizations of the 1945-75 period. Post 1975, it lost its preoccupation with fighting the Left, and progressively grew as a challenger to liberal-internationalism. The abandonment of "White Australia" and consequent non-European immigration were the formative catalysts of a more diverse and complex Extreme Right. The Thesis uses a working definition of generic fascism as "palingenetic populist ultra-nationalism", to measure the degree of ideological and political radicalization achieved by the Extreme Right. This family of political ideas, independent of the State and mobilized beyond the limits of the former-period auxiliary conservatives, expressed itself in an array of organizational forms. The complexity of the Extreme Right can be demonstrated by using four typologies: Radical Nationalism, Neo-Nazism, Populist-Monarchism and Radical-Populism, each with specific points to make about social clienteles, geographical distribution, particular ideological heritages, and varied strategies and tactics. The Extreme Right could mobilize from different points of opportunity if political space became available. Inevitably a mutual delegitimization process between State and Extreme Right led to public inquiries and the emplacement of agencies and legislation to restrict the new radicalism. This was understandable since some Extreme Right groups employed violence or appeared to perform actions preparatory thereto. It also led to show-trials and para-State crime targeted against particular groups especially in the period 1988-91. Thereafter, Extreme Right organizations pursued strategies which led to electoral breakthroughs, both rural and urban as a style of Right-wing populist politics unfolded in the 1990's. It was in this period that the Extreme Right encouraged the co-optation by the State of the residual Left in the anti-racist fight. This seemed natural, as the Extreme Right's vocal references to popular democracy, national independence and the nativist heritage, had permitted it to occupy the Old Left's traditional ground. In that way too, it was "The Other Radicalism".

Populismo e o projeto de desenvolvimento do governo Lula /

Paraizo, Maria Angélica Chagas. January 2017 (has links)
Abstract: This research has as object of analysis different readings about the policies implemented by the Lula government for the dominant classes and for the dominated classes. Its purpose is to present a critical review of the bibliography presented to demonstrate how the selective interests of the working classes served to the development project of the government and how these interest were limited to the maintenance of the fundamental interests of the bourgeois classes. Thus, we try to reflect about the occurrence of some social and economic changes during that government, however, circumscribed to the determinations of the peripheral neoliberal model. Through the discussion contained in the bibliography used in this work and based on the State theory of Nicos Poulantzas, we seek to expose the particularities of the fulfillment of the general function of the capitalist State by the Lula government. We also try to demonstrate how the popular classes have become the support of the neodevelopmentalist project through an ideological illusion with material foundations, resulting in a populist relationship between these social sectors and the government. / Mestre
