Role učitele v německé celodenní škole / Rolle of the teacher in German all-day schoolČapková, Jana January 2011 (has links)
PAVLÍKOVÁ, J. The Rolle of the teachen in German all-day school. Praha: Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, 2011. 198 pp. Doctoral Thesis. The doctoral thesis examines the role of the teacher in German all-day school, as a specific educational institution with many representative features. The theoretical part describes the context of the role of the teacher in the German all-day school. It is defined all-day school in Germany and described its characteristics. The doctoral thesis briefly outlines the history of all-day school in Germany as well as current history in each of the German lands. The theoretical part further defines social role, role of teachers and summarizes current knowledge on the profession of teacher in the German all-day school. The empirical part tackles the qusetion of the role of the teacher in the German all-day school, its characteristics and the context in which it takes place. The research is carried out qualitative strategies, using grounded theory. A concrete result of the research is grounded substantive theory of the role of teachers in the German all-day school. It is also compared with existing theories of the role of teachers. Keywords: role of teachers, German all-day school, grounded theory.

Density Functional Theory Study of Vibrational Spectra. 4. Comparison of Experimental and Calculated Frequencies of All-Trans-1,3,5,7-Octatetraene - the End of Normal Coordinate Analysis?Zhou, Xuefeng, Mole, Susan J., Liu, Ruifeng 01 January 1996 (has links)
Comparison of the observed and calculated vibrational frequencies of all-trans-octatetraene indicates that the density functional theory (DFT) using Becke's exchange and Lee-Yang-Parr's correlation functionals is as accurate as the Hartree-Fock (HF)-based scaled quantum mechanical force field approach in predicting fundamental vibrational frequencies. As the DFT calculation does not use any empirical parameters pertaining to the subject molecule and its computational cost scales more favorably than that of the HF theory, it is a more promising approach to molecular vibrational problems and should replace the empirical normal coordinate analysis for assisting vibrational assignments.

Ramazzottius belubellus, a new species of Tardigrada (Eutardigrada: Parachela: Hypsibiidae) from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (North Carolina, U.S.A.)Bartels, Paul J., Nelson, Diane R., Kaczmarek, Łukasz, Michalczyk, Łukasz 08 April 2011 (has links)
A new species, Ramazzottius belubellus, is described from a single lichen sample collected in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in western North Carolina, U.S.A. The new species is easily distinguishable from all other members of the genus Ramazzottius by the presence of long dorsal, sharp triangular spines not arranged in transverse bands as opposed to small tubercles arranged in bands, or a thin reticulum, or a smooth cuticle present in all other described species of the genus. The new species could be confused with R. baumanni but differs from it by the presence of sharp triangular spines on the dorsal side of the body instead of flat, hemispherical tubercles.

An Updated Species List for “Smoky Bears”: Tardigrades of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, USABartels, Paul J., Nelson, Diane R., Kaczmarek, Lukasz 01 June 2021 (has links)
One of the largest inventories of tardigrades ever conducted occurred from 2000 2010 in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, USA. Over 16,000 specimens were catalogued, 85 species were identified, 11 species new to science were described, and 16 other possible new species await further study. More than 20 papers have resulted from the GSMNP tardigrade inventory, making the Smokies the most thoroughly studied area in North America for tardigrades. Several species lists have been published over this 20-year period, but many taxonomic revisions and new identifications have led to significant changes to the list. Biogeographical studies citing species records from earlier studies could yield serious errors. Here we update the species list from the Smokies to accommodate the many recent changes in tardigrade taxonomy, we re-Analyze some species in light of delineations of cryptic species groups that have occurred recently via integrative taxonomy, and we provide a table of all synonyms that have been used in previous publications. We also make available, for the first time, the Smokies tardigrade database, complete with all locations, elevations, and substrates.

Translucency and degree of conversion of resin cement with different thickness of full contour zirconiaSupornpun, Noppamath January 2015 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Background: Traditionally, zirconia has been used as a core material for allceramic
crowns that are later covered by a more esthetic veneering layer. Recently, new
zirconia materials with higher translucency commonly referred to as the “full contour
zirconia” have been introduced with the aim to allow dentist to fabricate entire allceramic
crown from the material with acceptable esthetic and mechanical functions
without the need for veneering. However, there is little information in the literature
regarding the translucency of full contour zirconia and the degree of conversion of resin
cement underneath the full contour zirconia. Objectives: 1) To investigate the
translucency parameter (TP) of recently marketed full contour zirconia and compare that
to traditional zirconia and lithium disilicate glass ceramic (LDGC) at different
thicknesses. 2) To evaluate the degree of conversion (DC) of the resin cement through
different thicknesses of the full contour zirconia, traditional zirconia and LDGC.
Alternative hypothesis: The new generation zirconia at the clinically recommended
thickness has lower translucency than that of LDGC and higher than that of non-veneered
traditional zirconia. In addition, DC of resin cement under full contour zirconia is lower
than that of LDGC and higher than that of traditional zirconia. Methods: 150 ceramic
specimens (12 x12 mm with thickness of 1-2 mm for LDGC and Zirconia) were divided
into 6 groups according to the type of material, as follow: LDGC (IPS e-max CAD),
Traditional Zirconia (CAP QZ), full contour zirconia (CAP FZ, Zirlux, Bruxzir, KDZ
Bruxer). The TP for materials at various thicknesses were measured by a
spectrophotometer (CM-2600D). The DC of the light curing resin cement (Variolink II)
underneath the ceramic disks was measured by FTIR. Result: All full contour zirconia
has lower translucency parameter and light transmission than LDGC. The translucency
parameter decreases with increasing thickness of any type of ceramic. There were no
significant differences in the degree of conversion of resin cement among the type of
ceramic disc, except Bruxzir. The correlation of TP between various thicknesses and the
types of ceramic materials was established by a regression analysis.

DESIGN OF HIGHER-ORDER ALL OPTICAL BINARY DELTA-SIGMA MODULATOR USING RING LASERAyed Alshammari, Marji 01 December 2018 (has links) (PDF)
The aim of this research is to investigate the performance of a bi-stable device using a single active element and to design a higher order all optical binary delta-sigma modulator (BΔΣM). A Delta sigma modulator has two important components that require enhancement to achieve robust modulation. The first component is the integrator which accumulates the error and at the same time leaks it. Here, the integrator is a single ring laser consisting of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and a filter to allow the light frequency of interest into the ring. The other component is the bi-stable device (called Schmitt trigger) that switches either ON (1) or OFF (0). There are different novel approaches to developing a bi-stable circuit. First, the coupled two ring lasers where each ring suppresses each other. Second, a novel idea that considered as a bi-stable device with single active element to achieve reduced power and reduce cost. This type of circuit is merged ring lasers with using single SOA. This system is modeled and its bistability hysteretic characteristics is investigated. The first bi-stable device is used to construct an all optical BΔΣM with 1st, 2nd and 3rd -order approaches. It performs better when the SOA bulk device is replaced by multi-quantum well (MQW) SOA.
