Syftet med denna studie är att utforska och utveckla min förmåga att sjunga utryckfullt när det ges kort instuderingstid. Ambitionen är att förbereda mig inför ett så kallat sekunda vista-prov där gestaltning av text och musik är i förgrunden. Hur ser processen ut när jag försöker utveckla min förmåga att väva samman text och musik vid ett ge- staltningsprov med kort förberedelsetid? Under sammanlagt 6 veckor övades olika färdigheter rörande sekunda vista, prima vista, gehör, textlig och kroppslig gestaltning. Övningen skedde dagligen med stöd från en egen utformad lista: Träna intervall utan ord, sjunga intervall utan ord men med olika uttryck, sjunga korta melodifraser utan ord med olika uttryck, läsa korta fraser och gestalta texten, sjunga korta fraser och gestalta texten musikaliskt samt med en mobil-app kallad Ella. I slutet av varje vecka spelades en kortare tysk romans in där 40 minuter gavs som förberedelsetid. Roman- sen skulle för mig vara sedan tidigare helt okänd. I sammanfattningen av studiens ge- nomförande kan det konstateras att jag främst lägger fokus på att sjunga rätt toner, att sjunga med god sångteknik och att jag försöker få med ett kroppsligt uttryck vilket då blir på viss bekostnad av det musikaliska uttrycket. / The purpose of this study is to explore and develop my ability to sing expressively when given a short rehearsal time. The ambition is to prepare myself for a so-called secunda vista-test where the performance of text and music is in the spotlight. What does the process look like when I try to develop my ability to weave together text and music with very short preparation time? For a total of 6 weeks, various skills were practiced concerning secunda vista, prima vista, aural training, textual and physical ex- pression. The practice took place daily with the support of a prepared list: Practice intervals without words, sing intervals without words but with different expressions, sing short melodic phrases without words with different expressions, read short phrases and shape the text, sing short phrases, and shape the text musically, and with a mobile app called Ella. At the end of each week a short German lied was recorded where 40 minutes were given as preparation time. The lied was to me completely un- known before. In the summary of the study, it can be identified that my focus is mainly on singing the right notes, singing with good singing technique, and trying to get a physical expression, which then becomes at some expense of the musical expression.

Syftet med detta arbete är att studera min läroprocess när jag övar på notläsning a prima vista på elbas samt att undersöka hur mina val för lärandesituationens design påverkar mitt lärande. Under en fyraveckorsperiod har jag övat a vista-läsning 3-4 gånger per vecka vilket dokumenterats genom videofilmning och loggbok. Arbetet tar utgångspunkt i ett designteoretiskt perspektiv på lärande. Resultatet visar en progression i min förmåga att läsa a prima vista samt hur olika resurser påverkat lärandet. I diskussionsdelen problematiseras resultaten i förhållande till tidigare forskning inom området samt vilka förutsättningar det valda materialet och studiens metod innebär för mitt lärande. / The purpose of this work is to study my learning process when practicing sight-reading on the electric bass and to examine how my choices on the design of the learning situation affect my learning. During a four-week period I’ve been practicing sight-reading 3-4 times per week which has been documented using video recording and a logbook. The study is based on a design theoretical perspective on learning. The results show a progression in my ability to sight-read and also how various resources affect my learning. In the last chapter I problematize the results in relation to previous research in this field of study and what preconditions the chosen material and the study’s method mean for my learning.

Jag har under projektets gång studerat in fem renässansstycken för klassisk gitarr utan att ta hjälp av instrumentet vid instuderingsprocessen och analyserat resultatet utifrån ett hermaneutiskt perspektiv. Instuderingen av styckena har skett helt mentalt genom en kombination av två olika metoder för mental instudering baserat på Giesking och Liemers (1972) Visualizarion och en metod som Pujol (1983) presenterat som jag i denna studie väljer att kalla för Praktiskt Föreställande. Syftet är att se hur väl jag kan studera in ett stycke helt utan instrument i handen och att utforska hur den mentala instuderingsprocessen utvecklas under projektets gång i takt med att jag lär mig mer om metoderna genom att använda dem. Under den fem veckor långa studien förde jag loggbok där jag reflekterade och redovisade för mina instuderingstillfällen samt spelade in uppspelet av vart stycke med video och ljud. Varje instuderingsperiod á en vecka ledde till en utveckling av metoderna. I resultatet presenterar jag hur min användning av de båda metoderna gradvis utvecklas och hur det klingande resultatet i sin tur förbättras av den mentala förberedelsen. I diskussionskapitlet ställs mitt resultat mot mitt teoretiska perspektiv samt relevant litteratur och tidigare forskning inom området.   Nyckelord: gitarr, mental träning, visualisering, observationsstudie, notläsning, prima vista, hermeneutik / I have during this project studied five renaissance pieces for classical guitar without the help of my instrument while studying them and analyzed the results from a hermeneutical point of view. The studying of the pieces has been a completely mental process and a combination of two methods for mental rehearsal that have been used based on Giesking and Liemers (1972) Visualization and a method presented by Pujol (1983) that I during this study will call Practical Imagery. The intention is to explore how the process of mental rehearsal will evolve during the project as I learn more about the methods by using them. During the five-week long study I wrote a journal used for me to reflect and present the process of studying the pieces and recorded each performance with video and audio. Each period lead to me evolving the use of the methods. In the results I present how the use of both methods lead to them both gradually evolved and how the performance was affected by the mental training.
