Design of a counter torque device used in a torque standard machine = Erzeugung des gegendrehmoments in einer drehmoment-normalmesseinrichtung

Pino Samalvides, Eduardo Anibal 09 March 2017 (has links)
In the last years, the increase in the need of higher accuracy in science, research and technology in precision engineering created an obligation to produce a new torque standard machine for precise measurement of torque. This thesis deals with the design and implementation of a Counter Torque Device which will be used in a new Torque Standard Machine based on moving mass developed in the faculty of precision engineering at the TU Ilmenau. This new Torque Standard Machine must have a measuring range from 1 mNm to 1 Nm and a lower relative uncertainty Ur :S 1x1O-5 (k = 2). In order to achieve this aim, the fundamentals and the state of the art are shown at the beginning of the thesis. After the specific requirements are compiled in a requirements list, then based on physical and technical principles different possible solutions are developed and evaluated, from this evaluation optimal solution is founded, implemented and tested. / Tesis

Ferreira, Amanda Schenatto. January 2018 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Patellofemoral pain is more likely to affect women. Pain is exacerbated by activities that load the patellofemoral joint during weight bearing on a flexed knee, such as stair ascent. Despite the source of pain remains unclear, multiple factors have been proposed to explain the development of PFP, especially the impairment in knee and hip maximal strength. However, unfavorable recovery has been reported even after treatments focused on quadriceps and hip strengthening. Thus, other aspects of muscular function are possibly being neglected and should be better explored in PFP, such as force steadiness and rate of force development (muscle power). Therefore, the aims of this dissertation were to compare force steadiness, rate of force development and maximal strength of the knee extensors and hip abductors between women with PFP and pain-free controls and to investigate the influence of hip muscle strength and rearfoot kinematics on the movement pattern during stair ascent in women with PFP. Strength parameters were assessed using an isokinetic dynamometer. Kinematic analysis was performed during stair ascent tasks in an experimental set up composed by 9 cameras for acquisition of hip and rearfoot eversion joint angles. Women with PFP presented deficits in force steadiness, rate of force development and maximal strength of knee extensors and hip abductors compared with pain-free controls. Also, hip abductor strength explained significantly the variance of peak hip internal rotati... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre

SUPPRESSION OF HARMONIC TORQUE AND HARMONIC CURRENT IN PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR

Abou Qamar, Nezar Yehya 01 May 2018 (has links)
In this dissertation harmonic current, harmonic torque originated at the load and harmonic torque originated at the motor, where modeled and treated via closed loop control. The dissertation propose a remedy for cancelling harmonic current by placing the proposed adaptive feedforward controller (AFC) in parallel with the FOC current control. Similarly, harmonic torque load was cancelled by proposing an AFC in parallel with the speed control loop. Harmonic torque originated in the motor mainly due to harmonic flux where cancelled through the estimation of harmonic flux, which was achieved by a novel Minimal Parameter Harmonic Flux Estimator (MPHFE). The latter is formulated such that the inductance, resistance, and stator current and its derivative are not necessary for the estimation of the harmonic eflux. This was achieved by forcing the harmonic current induced by the harmonic flux component to zero through the combined action of a Field-Oriented Controller (FOC) and a feed-forward controller. Subsequently, the harmonic flux can be obtained directly from the estimated harmonic back-EMF without the involvement of other motor parameters. Finally, the estimated flux is used in conjunction with a comprehensive analysis of the motor harmonic torque to determine the stator current compensation to eliminate the torque harmonic. A systematic approach to assign the parameter of the AFC controller were developed in this dissertation. Furthermore, multiple experiments were conducted to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed control schemes harmonics.

Angular and linear velocities of dominant leg and pelvis were recorded through 3D kinemetry. Ground reaction force parameters (GRF) were evaluated by force platform and surface electromyographic (sEMG) signals were recorded through wireless system from the Vastus Lateralis (VL), Biceps Femoris (BF), Rectus Femoris (RF), Tensor Fasciae Lata (TFL), Adductor Magnum (AM), Gluteus Maximum (GM), Gluteus Medium (Gmed) and Gastrocnemius Lateralis (GL) muscles of the kicking leg. EMGs data were rectified, filtered and normalized to the maximal value obtained for each muscle over all trials; cocontraction (CI) indexes of antagonist vs. overall (agonist and antagonist) activity were computed for hip abduction and hip and knee in flexion and extension. Premotor time of each muscle, reaction time and kicking time was assessed as well. Timing parameters and sEMG cocontraction index were significantly lower in elite group, while peak of linear (toe, ankle and knee), angular velocities (knee and hip), and GRF were significantly higher in elite than in sub-elite group. We conclude that reaction time, cocontraction, duration and velocity of kick could be useful in selecting top level taekwondo athletes and monitoring their training status

Defesa: Curitiba, 16/03/2012 / Bibliografia: fls. / Abstract: The musculoskeletal symptoms are recurrent in elementary school teachers in Brazil but the practice of physical exercise could be indicated to reduce them. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of localized muscular endurance training in the torque and in the musculoskeletal symptoms of lumbar spine and lower limbs of elementary public school teachers. Thirty-one female teachers (40±9 years-old) were distributed into two groups: Resistance Training Group (n=16) and Control Group (n=15). The Resistance Training Group performed two sets of 15 repetitions of quadriceps and hamstrings (5s concentric and 5s eccentric) resting 1min between the sets, twice a week, during seven consecutive weeks. The exercises were carried out with 50% of 10 repetition maximum (10 RM) from the 1st to 4th week and 60% of 10RM between the 5th and 7th week. The groups were assessed before and after seven weeks with the Nordic questionnaire to evaluate the musculoskeletal symptoms, the load cell to calculate the isometric quadriceps and hamstring peak of torque; The 10 RM test was used to estimate the muscular strength. The musculoskeletal symptoms were compared by Chi-Square, comparisons between groups with the Kruskal-Wallis test and the correlations between the variables were made by Spearman correlation. The highest prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms was found in the lumbar region (35±8%) in both groups. Localized muscular endurance training promoted increases in quadriceps (67%) and hamstrings (53%) muscular strength, however, these effects did not influence the isometric peak of torque of quadriceps and hamstrings as well as musculoskeletal symptoms of lumbar region and lower limbs. The outcomes indicate the need for further research to investigate the effects of muscular endurance exercises programs in reducing work-related musculoskeletal symptoms of lumbar region and lower limbs.

Parafusos protéticos recobertos com DLC e CD-DLC, após o retorque, não elevaram a manutenção do torque / The study analyzed the torque maintain of the screw abutments, with coating of diamond-like carbon (DLC) and doping of diamond (CD-DLC), submitted the retorque in external hexagonal (EH) and internal (IH) connections; after mechanical fatigue. The DLC and CD-DLC coating was deposited by plasma, PECVD method. Samples (Implant + abutment screew + metal crown), which had been exposed to 1 million fatigue cycles were retorquiadas, digital torque wrench, to the torque recommended by the manufacturer 30 N (HE) and 20 N (HI), and submitted again to 1 million cycles mechanics. At the end of fatigue, the screws were destorquiados to check the maintenance of torque. Screws from each experimental group were selected for observation by SEM. Statistical analysis was performed by ANOVA 2 Factors test (α = 0.05). There was no interaction among the factors studied (p = 0.765); the treatment of screws (p = 0.638) and the connection type (p = 0.615) showed no statistical difference. The microscopy images showed damage the threads and covering the presence of HI connections. Changes such as damage on the screws threads and film removal were observed among the experimental groups. The coating groups showed little or no damage on the screws threads. The DLC and CD-DLC coating did not interfere in the screw adaptation on the implant. A torque ripple analysis on reluctance synchronous machines

Hanekom, Alwyn Nicolaas January 2006 (has links)
Thesis MTech(Electrical Engineering))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2006 / Reluctance Synchronous Machines (RSM) have, due to their rotor geometry, an inherently high torque ripple. This torque ripple is defined as the deviation of the minimum and maximum torque from the average value. It is unwanted as it indicates uneven pull on the rotor causing deformation of it and hence different air-gaps along the rotor circumference as well as acoustic noise. In applications such as power steering, robotics and radar positioning systems where high precision movement is vital, oscillating torque will lead to the malfunction of these devices and therefore suppressed the use and development of RSMs. Unlike the Induction machine (IM), the RSM has no copper losses in the rotor, which reduces the operating temperature significantly. With the development of electronic drives the quality of the output torque could be improved by means of accurate current- and flux space phasor control methods with much success and made the RSM a possible replacement for the IM. However, reducing torque ripple by means of purely geometrical changes is still a challenge to the machine designer. This thesis will focus on the reduction of torque ripple while leaving the average torque relatively unchanged by changing the rotor geometry. The rotor changes will take place by means of flux barriers and cut-outs while the stator has either semi-closed slots or magnetic wedges. In this work rotor structures with equal harmonic magnitudes but their angles 1800 apart. will be combined to form one machine and identify how torque harmonics respond. The change in average torque and power factor will be evaluated with all geometrical changes made to these machines throughout this work.
