Att namnge platser i ett distributionslager : En fallstudie om att förändra ett adresseringssystem i ett distributionslager med hjälp av förändringsplanering.

Boström, Felix, Calderon, Hanna January 2021 (has links)
Purpose – The purpose with this study is to increase the understanding of how storage locations should be named along with an understanding of how planning of change could influence a change process. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, two research questions were formulated. ▪ How should storage locations be named in a distribution center?▪ How could planning affect the introduction of a new location addressing system? Method – The study has been executed as a case study and has been incused by a deductive approach. To the study, a central warehouse that distributes spare parts to private cars has been selected as case company. In order to answer the study ́s research questions, a literature study has been accomplished and empirical data has been collected. All the empirical data has been collected through interviews and observations at the case company. Furthermore, all empirical and theoretical data has been processed and analysed in order to answer the study ́s purpose and research questions. Findings – To create a location addressing system in a distribution center and thereby name storage locations, three factors should be considered. The first factor to consider is regarding which system that should be used in the specific environment, numerically, alphabetically or alphanumerically. The second factor is that the storage locations names should be as short as possible, maximum between five and seven symbols. The third factor that should be considered is that the location addressing system should have an underlying logic to support an uncomplicated learning process. When the storage locations are being labelled in the business, the chosen colour combinations should support clearness. In order to achieve clearness, the chosen colours need to have a great contrast between each other. In order to simplify a change in a distribution center, a well thought out planning strategy should be used. There are two factors according to this study that should be considered during changes in a distribution center. First off, it ́s important to have a clear information flow during the change process. Without a clear information flow to everyone that are being affected by the change, the risk of resistance towards the change increases. It ́s also important to formulate a clear planning and an understanding of the change ́s consequences in an early stage of the change process. This to prepare for the consequences that other elements in the business environment could be affected by the change as well. Implications – The study combines already proven theories and apply these in a distribution environment. No new theories have been created, but how the proven theories have been combined could give a new angle of how changes of storage locations in a distribution environment should be implemented. The study ́s empirical contribution was to give an increased understanding of how storage locations should be named and identify which factors affecting the naming of storage locations. The empirical contribution was also to give an increased understanding of how employees could be affected by a change. Changing a namingsystem could result in reduced loading of the employee’s memory, both the long-term memory and the short-term memory. By using a well thought out planning process, the outcome of a change in a location addressing system would be benefited. Limitations – The study has been executed as a one case study. It ́s not possible to exclude that a multiple case study would have generated a different result. In the study ́s empirical data, seven interviews were conducted. These seven interviews represent the employees of the case company. A larger quantity of interviews could have increased the study ́s quality. No quantitative data has been collected. With quantitative data, the study ́s generalizability could have increased. At last, the study has been limited by the space of time. With a longer amount of time, all parts of this study would have been further developed and by that, created a more generalized result.

Best Practices in Literacy Achievement to Address Reading Failure for Elementary Schools in One School District

Boyd-Williams, Roxanne 01 January 2016 (has links)
The local district in this study has not made adequate yearly progress in the past several years in language arts literacy on state assessments. Particularly problematic were poor reading skills among district students. Poor literacy skills negatively affect student learning across the curriculum. The purpose of this case study was to identify teachers' and administrators' perceptions of best literacy practices, professional development, and administrative decisions regarding literacy learning for primary students in reading at a strong performing elementary school in the district. The target school was selected to help address reading failure for the low-performing schools in this district. Bloom's taxonomy of learning, which indicates that higher-level learning is based on foundational knowledge that is often provided at the primary level, was the framework for this study. A bounded case study was conducted that included a purposeful sample of 7 elementary teachers of language arts from Pre-K to 2nd grades and 2 administrators at the target elementary school. Classroom observations and interviews were used to collect data. NVivo was used to assist in coding, analysis of data, and identification of recurring themes. The findings indicated that an outcome-based curriculum incorporating Bloom's levels of learning coupled with supportive district decisions regarding literacy were key components driving literacy success at the target school. The findings were incorporated into a policy paper as a project to propose and support elementary level reading curriculum changes and administrative decisions regarding literacy success for elementary students in the local district. Implications for positive social change might be far reaching as elementary school students in this district benefit from literacy skills that improve their academic success and ultimately their overall quality of life.

[en] PROTECTION AND RESTORATION, TOGETHER WITH NODE ADDRESSING AND TMN MANAGEMENT FOR IP OVER DWDM OPTICAL NETWORKS BY USING PHYSICAL LAYER / [pt] PROTEÇÃO, RESTAURAÇÃO, ENDEREÇAMENTO E GERENCIAMENTO TMN NA CAMADA FÍSICA PARA APLICAÇÕES IP SOBRE DWDM

CLAUDIA BARUCKE MARCONDES PAES LEME 17 November 2005 (has links)
[en] The objective of this work is to explore the possibilities of built-in intelligence embedded in the physical layer of an Optical Telecommunications Network, aiming at its future applications. The use of RF subcarriers - introduce above the optical payload through Mach-Zehnder modulators -, associated with multiple acess technologies, allows for protection, restoration, addressing, Quality of Service and TMN management network complexity and cost, while increasing its operational speed, since this approach allows data packages to be opened only when they reach their destination node. The results obtained suggest that this arrangement could be used for networking and management of ultra-high-speed optical systems.

Pojetí a způsob vyjádření zdvořilosti v komunikaci ve švédštině a češtině / Aspects and Instruments of Courtesy in Communication in Swedish and Czech

Malíková, Kamila January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the dissertation is to examine the approach to politeness in Swedish and in Czech and to compare its features in both languages. In the theoretical part there are presented the most influential approaches to politeness. The next two chapters focus on practical examples. In the first of these there are summarized linguistic means which are used to express politeness in Czech, and they are compared with Swedish. The second one deals with several specific speech acts, in which courtesy applies. The different ways of expressing politeness in Czech and Swedish are described on the base of the literature and also on my own questionnaire. Not only the spoken but also the written form of the communication is ranged in the dissertation. Key words: communication, courtesy, politeness, Czech, Swedish, language, form of address, formal terms, written communication, greeting

Utilisation d’une autostructuration pour un routage hiérarchique géographique dans les réseaux sans fil ad hoc / Self-organization for a hierarchical geographical routing protocol in wireless ad hoc networks

Ranaivo Rakotondravelona, Mandimby Nirina 03 July 2017 (has links)
The widespread use of wireless devices such as smartphones and connected objects leads to an increasing emergence of infrastructure-less networks relying on device-to-device communication: ad hoc networks. Applications of this type of network vary widely from military operations to emergency situations. Scalability is a key property for some use cases involving a large number of devices, also called nodes. We mean by scalability, the ability of the network to increase in size without drastic loss of performance and with a cost-effective network maintenance. In this thesis, we focus on the scalability from a routing perspective. Routing handles the delivery of data packets from a source to a destination across the network. This is achieved by the exchange of information between nodes. The corresponding traffic may represent a break for scalability in presence of numerous nodes. In this work, we propose an aggregation of routing information. First, we partition the deployment area into smaller hierachical regions based on geographical coordinates. Nodes are assigned hierachical address depending on the regions they are located in. Then, we propose a mixed topological and geographical-based routing protocol. A node maintains precise routing information to other nodes in close proximity and geographically aggregate information for nodes at greater distances. Regions are the units of nodes aggregation. The further the nodes are, the larger the regions referring to them are. The results show that our proposition outperforms regular ad hoc routing in terms of scalability and addresses more efficiently geographical routing-related issues compared to classical geographical routing.

Hledání role Německa v krizi eurozóny / Searching for the Role of Germany in Eurozone Crisis

Krsek, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
In my graduation theses I deal with the eurozone crisis. This crisis can be seen in relation to the causes of it, as a result of many factors of varying importance - the global financial and economic crisis, the State lavishness, the construction of EMU, etc. Eurozone crisis can however be also seen in the inability of states to agree on the future appearance of the eurozone. In the first two chapters I analyze the first mentioned approach, namely financial and debt crisis with regard to their expensiveness. In detail I attend to interconnection of banking and debt crisis and the role of the ECB. In the second part I come to the principal point of my work, another approach to the crisis, namely the attitude of Germany to address problems of EMU. Germany therefore, that as the largest economy of EMU it forms it the most, but also carries the largest share of costs. I will analyze both the priorities of Germany, and his approach to promoted measures from the fiscal compact to Eurobonds. Eventually, through an analysis of the attitudes of actors in Germany - the German Government, the political opposition, the constitutional court, the Bundesbank, the German academics, public opinion - I come to a conclusion that the position of Germany is divided, however, at least for political representation I can not yet speak of fundamental contradictions. But it seems that the German population begins to differ in this way from their political representatives. The future will show us how serious this discrepancy will be and what results will it bring.

Modelování IPv6 v prostředí OMNeT++ / IPv6 Modelling in OMNeT++

Černý, Marek January 2011 (has links)
OMNeT++ is a discrete-event simulator commonly used to build various network simulations. It can be extended by INET framework that supplies models of protocols and devices from TCP/IP environment. This paper explores current capabilities of INET to model IPv6, particularly routing. Implemented extension includes modules of dual-stack router and dual-stack host that support XML-based configuration of IPv6 addressing and static routing. We also introduce an OSPFv3 module that implements most of auxiliary features and is ready for future development of the routing protocol core.
