Vaz, Luis Geraldo. January 2007 (has links)
Abstract: Titanium has been widely used as biomaterial owing to its excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and biocompatibility. However, it has been reported that fluoride-containing environments can attack titanium. The aim of this study was evaluated fluoride environments influence with different pH values in the implant/abutment sets. The implants were separated into 3 groups containing 7 implants/brand: one was submerged in acid fluoride environment (NaF 1500ppm 184h pH 5.3), one in neutral fluoride environment (NaF 1500ppm 184h pH 7.4), and other group in distillated water, simulating five years of dental hygiene. Hardness and surface texture were evaluated before and after fluoride exposition by Vickers method (500gf/30s) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The fatigue test was performed with 100.000 load cycles, 15 Hz and 150 N. There was decrease in hardness in implants submitted to the fluoride environment. SEM and EDS evaluation showed dark stains in all implants, irrespective of fluoride pH, resulting from pitting corrosion process. All sets supported the fatigue test until 100.000 load cycles. The results demonstrated that fluoride environment there was no influence in mechanical properties of the implant/abutment sets.

Amoroso, Andressa Paschoal. January 2013 (has links)
Modelo 1: prótese com 4 implantes dispostos perpendicularmente à crista do rebordo e modelo 2: prótese do tipo All on four (implantes distais inclinados em 30º). / Abstract: The increasing and continuous demand for implants prosthetic rehabilitation along with the proven success of dental implants make that search for means which can further strengthen this type of treatment is abundant, especially regarding the distribution of forces. Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the stress distribution generated in different configurations of the full-arch implant-supported prostheses, through the three-dimensional finite element method. Material and method: For this study two mandibular models were made using the graphical modeling program SolidWorks 2010 (SolidWorks Corp., Massachusetts, USA) and Rhinoceros® 3D 4.0 (NURBS Modeling for Windows, EUA). Each model represented a jaw with a full-arch implant-supported prosthesis using external hexagon implants with 4.0 x 13.0 mm (Master Connection Implant Systems Ltda., São Paulo, Brazil) located in the interforaminal region, varying the inclination. Model 1: prosthesis with 4 implants arranged perpendicularly to the ridge crest and model 2: All-on-four prosthesis (distal implants tilted at 30 °). The representation of the prosthesis was with acrylic resin and the metallic infrastructure with NiCr. The three-dimensional images were exported to finite element programs FEMAP 11.0 for mesh generation. The axial load applied was 300N, being 75N bilateral in each tooth, and oblique of 150N, being 75N unilateral in each tooth, in 1st premolars and 1st molars. Results: After analysis at the program NEiNastran® 9.2 (Noran Engineering, Inc., EUA), the results were visualized through individualized maps of von Mises stress and main maximum stress on each model. It can be observed in the model with tilted implants, that for both loads the stress concentrations were higher. Conclusion: It was concluded that the All on four prostheses presented highest stress concentrations, especially in the region of the distal implant. / Mestre

Seloto, Camila Berbel. January 2017 (has links)
It was formed six groups (n=12), being one test group (T) and other control group (C) for each type of abutment / implant connection (external hexagonal connection (EH) and UCLA abutments, Morse taper (MT) and UCLA abutments, and CM connection and flexcone (CF) abutments). In the test groups (EHT, MTT and CFT) a sealing agent was applied on the retention screw, whereas the control groups (EHC, MTC and CFC) were maintained in the conventional manner. All implants were embedded in polyurethane and into the deeper portion of each implant it was introduced 0.7 μl of Toluidine Blue (TB). After that, the abutments were screwed to the implants with the torque values recommended by the manufacturer with the aid of a specific wrench and a digital torque wrench. The specimens formed were submitted to mechanical cycling (1x106 cycles) with frequency of 2Hz and oblique loading of 130 N. The misfit evaluation were performed at a stereomicroscope before and after a mechanical cycling. In order to verify the gel sealing ability after the mechanical cycling a standard curve was performed to determine the blue toluidine (TB) dilution. Then the data obtained were analyzed in a spectrophotometer for a standard curve formation. Afterwards, the specimens were placed in vials containing 400μl of distilled water. The spectrophotometric analysis was performed at 8 different times (1, 3, 6, 24, 48, 72, 96 and 144 hours). Finally, measurements of final destorque values (post-cycling) were performed. The misfit data, destorque and dye release (sealing ability) were obtained and submitted to normality statistical tests and then analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey tests (α = 0.05). The ANOVA... / Mestre
