Obytný soubor Brno-Řečkovice / Residential complex Brno - Reckovice

Mikesková, Denisa January 2013 (has links)
Residential Brno - Řečkovice A main task of this diploma thesis to propose the use of previosly undeveloped areas for the housing and also establish to the original structure of the village comunity by effective utilization of these areas. The ground is located in distrikt Řečkovice and Mokrá Hora in Brno. The Řečkovice cadastral is defined by Žilkova and Terezy Novákové street. North protperty line is determined by Ivanovice cadastral number 1035/26. The site is bounded by existing terraced and detached houses and apartment buildings on the northeast side. The south side is is formed by former barracks and northwest side provide open countryside towards Ivanovice. The development is designed to became a separate distrikt of Brno. The funcitonal areas are able to place residental house of different categories, also public facilities, recreation areas and public open space with all kinds of greenery. A main idea of the concept was to create residental comlex with a functional center that will not compete to existing center of Řečkovice. Densities are highest by the main road following the expected denser development of former barracks. They decreases ito the existing development along Žilkova street. The protective zone for pipeline is used as a city park. The proposed concept of functional areas clearly define continuity and transport infrastructure by design of buildings in different categories that meets all needs of future residents. Plenty of green space for recreation will also ensure functionality and efficient use of this unit.

Lesk a bída DTP: desktop publishing a běžná praxe českých vydavatelství / The splendors and miseries of DTP: desktop publishing and common practice of Czech publishing houses

Falta, Matěj January 2020 (has links)
Diploma thesis Te splendors and miseries of DTP: desktop publishing and common practice of Czech publishing houses tries to map the current technical and personnel aspect of the DTP departments within Czech publishing houses. It uses a quantitative method of questionnaire survey. In the practical part of the research, it managed to obtain data from nine of the ten selected publishers. It was chosen on the basis of their readership with the help of data from the Union of Publishers. Undoubtedly, the main contribution of this thesis is the topic itself - text focuses on a group of media professionals, who are crucial for proper functioning of the print media, although it is constantly overlooked by academia. Tis diploma thesis does not bring any revolutionary knowledge about the feld of print media in the Czech Republic, although with the obtained data it is possible to at least partially analyze jobs and style of work of media professionals in DTP departments. Te work is a small quantitative contribution to the academic discussion, which unfortunately is not currently taking place, although it should.

Nové Město pražské ve světle vizitačního protokolu tereziánského katastru z roku 1725 / New Town of Prague in the Light of the Inspection Protocol of the Theresian Cadastre of 1725

Fúrová, Pavlína January 2019 (has links)
(in English): The diploma thesis follows up on the prior attempts to introduce and make available a unique historical source called the inspection protocol of the Theresian Cadastre for Prague towns from 1725 to 1726. This thesis focuses on the New Town, but in some cases it also compares the obtained data with the Old Town and Lesser Town. The theoretical part discusses a whole range of questions that can be answered based on the New Town inspection protocol. The questions include the total number of houses or their division by taxation, house prices as well as occupation and income of homeowners. The houses exterior is evaluated based on the building condition, the material used and the number of storeys. It is possible to study the size of areas that are not built on thanks to an accurate register of garden size. Moreover, this part also concentrates on beer brewing and consumption in New Town pubs. The small scope of the theoretical part is compensated by a content-rich appendix (database), which is in fact an edition of the source in a nontraditional form. It is intended for all scholars interested in Prague residential buildings in the Baroque period. The data from the inspection protocol can be used to compile a history of individual buildings and to study the demographic, social, economic...

Bearbetning av befintligt bostadsprojekt med syfte att uppnå passivhusstandard / Processing of an existing housing project with a purpose to achieve passive house standard

Stoor Siekkinen, Björn, Hedberg, Carl January 2012 (has links)
Energy calculations and analysis have in this thesis paper been made in accordance with the FEBY12 on a row house area to examine what is needed for low energy houses to achieve passive house standards. The ability to construct energy efficient buildings in today’s society is very important for all companies in the business since the people are becoming more and more environmentally conscious and demands from buyers are increasing.  To be able to efficiently obtain accurate values from the different energy calculation programs such as Vasari, Energihuskalkyl and PHPP for this examination, a model was created using Revit Architecture. The programs’ quality strongly differs from each other and therefore analysis and comparisons have been made to reach a result. Analysis clearly shows that the demands to reach passive house standard on rates of heat loss are significantly harder to meet than the demands put on the supplied energy.  To achieve passive house standard several different measures were taken, for example the U-value in the walls were improved, ventilation was made more efficient and the window panels were reduced significantly.

Hushållens organisation av källsortering : En jämförelse mellan hushåll i villor och hushåll i flerbostadshus / Households' organization of source sorting : A comparison between households in houses and households in apartments

Vång, Linnea January 2022 (has links)
Waste has a role in several areas of environmental impact. Previous studies have mainly focused on people's norms linked to waste management and the road from the household to the recycling station. The purpose of this study was to see how households organize their waste. A comparison was made between a residential area with apartments and a residential area with detached houses in the form of a survey. The study showed that there was no significant difference between how residents in apartment buildings experienced source sorting compared with residents in individual houses. Households organized their source sorting according to where there was space. Solutions that worked well were that there were containers for the different waste categories, that there was information at hand, that there was a routine in the household and that everyone in the household wanted to sort at source. What worked less well that there were too few containers or too small, that the space was not enough and that the containers were emptied too infrequently. There was a need for more space, more knowledge, to try to have bags for the most common types of waste or to have a smaller amount of waste.

OPTIMAL OFFICE FOR TENANT: DESIGN PERSPECTIVES

Starikova, Anastasia January 2011 (has links)
At present the office real estate market in Sweden faces new challenges since the economic and real estate crisis of 2008-2010 years. Since the time of economic and real estate crisis of 2008-2010 years, the office real estate market has started to face new challenges. For example, office vacancy rates have increased significantly and challenges how to find the tenant for office premises became very actual. At the same time the demand for high quality office premises still exists on the market but with new requirements to the standards of the office working space. It is happening because the employees’ needs and requirements become more oriented to the comfort and safety of the working place. The employers try to keep and motivate employees by providing the most efficient and comfortable office space to work in and balance on cost-quality issues at the same time. In order to influence on demand from tenants’ and empower tenant search process the landlords have to use new, more competitive methods. The external design of the building and internal design of the office space in particular become more and more significant in leasing, sub-leasing and buying premises property purchase at the real estate office market. It is also useful and important because tenants can change the interior and design project upon their business needs and company’s strategies. The aim of this research paper is to set up the hypothesis that the office’s space design has a significant influence on tenant search process, plays the key role in so-called optimal office for tenant and tests above mentioned hypothesis by the empirical research study (method of questionnaire) among real “market players”-tenant representatives, consulting agencies and property owners. The location for the research and analysis activities is selected as Stockholm and Stockholm’s region, time frame is September - October 2010.

Pronikání politického vlivu do kultury a jeho etablování na příkladu činnosti nakladatelství v letech 1938-1949 / Permeation and implanting of political influence into the culture on the example of Czech publishing houses'activity in 1938-1949

Magincová, Dagmar January 2012 (has links)
of dissertation Dagmar Magincová The dissertation entitled Permeation and implanting of political influence into the culture on the example of Czech publishing houses'activity in 1938-1949 deals with the context of historically based politicisation of culture. It examines mutual relations between literary works, artefacts and political, social and cultural regulations, ideas and institutions in the sphere of publishing activities in Bohemia 1938-1949. The first part reflects the issue of power instruments used to influence culture; the second part conducts a survey of publishing activities from the aspect of individual subjects' attitudes in the transforming context of the time; the third part analyses particular ways how politics penetrates through culture, and the reflection in public discourse. Methodology of the study is based on the interdisciplinary basis of critical theory, which also implies the crucial issue of power forms transparency.

‘Little houses lovable’: The portrayal of houses and homes in selected novels by L.M. Montgomery

Van Heerden, Jeanne-Marie January 2017 (has links)
Houses in literature are an important signifier, and for Canadian author L.M. Montgomery, places and especially houses were deeply meaningful. This study explores the portrayal of houses and homes in a selection of L.M. Montgomery’s novels: Anne of Green Gables (1908), Anne of Avonlea (1909), Anne of the Island (1915), Anne’s House of Dreams (1917), Emily of New Moon (1923), The Blue Castle (1926), Emily Climbs (1927), Emily’s Quest (1928), A Tangled Web (1931), Pat of Silver Bush (1933), Mistress Pat (1935), Anne of Windy Willows (1936), and Jane of Lantern Hill (1937). Montgomery’s own attachment to houses and places is evident from The Selected Journals of L.M. Montgomery, Volumes 1-5 (1985-2004), Mary Rubio’s biography, Lucy Maud Montgomery: The Gift of Wings (2008) and Montgomery’s letters, My Dear Mr. M: Letters to G.B. MacMillan from L.M. Montgomery (1980). This study argues that, given Montgomery’s emphasis on the physical environment of her own life, the environment which surrounds the characters of her novels is equally important for deciphering meanings conveyed in her books. Therefore, the study attempts to ascertain what houses in Montgomery’s fiction communicate, drawing on theories of place attachment and emotional relationships with places to explain the significance of the houses in these novels and Montgomery’s depiction of them and their relation to the characters. Research on place attachment and the meaning of home helps to clarify the significance of houses in these novels. Prior analysis of Montgomery’s novels is also taken into account, as well as studies on the house in other fiction. The study shows that the houses in Montgomery’s fiction often function as a symbol for the self. They also facilitate or prevent actions or events which involve the characters, and fulfil the needs of the characters, whether these needs be physical or emotional. I use these functions as an interpretive lens through which I attempt to illuminate aspects of Montgomery’s depiction of houses in these novels as dream houses, haunted houses, houses of nostalgia or escape. Montgomery uses houses to situate the characters in her novels, both physically and emotionally. Close analysis of the passages relating to houses in these novels reveals the depth of detail, the imagery and symbolism, and Montgomery’s careful selection of words and phrases. / Dissertation (MA (English))--University of Pretoria, 2017. / English / MA (English) / Unrestricted
