Tvorba geometrických schémat u žáků 1.stupně prostřednictvím podnětných geometrických prostředí / Construction of elementary pupils' geometric schemas via motivating learning environments

Kloboučková, Jaroslava January 2015 (has links)
Title: Construction of elementary pupils' geometric schemas via motivating learning environments Author: Jaroslava Kloboučková Department: Department of mathematics and mathematics education Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Darina Jirotková, Ph.D. Abstract: The aim of the dissertation is to discuss teaching geometry as integral part of mathematics education at the primary school level. The thesis also documents a longitudinal teaching study which was initiated in 2010 and which gives us a base for discussion of some fundamental questions regarding the process of learning geometry for pupils in their early school years. The main objective here is to attempt to answer the following four didactic questions: In which way do pupils learn about geometrical objects? How do they share their geometrical knowledge, experience and discoveries with one another? How much (at what level) are they able to understand mathematical concepts that the official curricular documents (the Czech Framework for Education Program) place in later years of schooling? What phenomena are they able to grasp and describe using their mother tongue? The theoretical framework focuses on the learning process and the typology of mathematical problems in geometry. Four specific engaging environments (Cube Buildings, Origami, Wooden Sticks, and Tiles) and...

Zero Trust Adoption : Qualitative research on factors affecting the adoption of Zero Trust

Hansen, Jennifer January 2022 (has links)
The following qualitative research explores the adoption of Zero Trust in organisations from an organisational and user acceptance perspective. From an organisational perspective, the research highlights essential aspects such as testing the Zero Trust architecture in a pre-adoption phase, involving top management in the planning phase, communicating in a non-technical language, and making end-users feel a personal connection to IS security. The research highlights the importance of balancing the ease of use with security, evaluating the end-user's technical maturity, and carrying out evaluations from a user acceptance perspective. To gather valuable empirical data, the researcher has conducted semi-structured interviews with highly competent respondents within the field of Zero Trust. Most of the literature available today within Zero Trust focuses on technical aspects, and this research is a unique and vital contribution to the limited available research.

Extending the security perimeter through a web of trust: the impact of GPS technology on location-based authentication techniques

Adeka, Muhammad I., Shepherd, Simon J., Abd-Alhameed, Raed January 2013 (has links)
No / Security is a function of the trust that is associated with the active variables in a system. Thus, the human factor being the most critical element in security systems, the security perimeter could be defined in relation to the human trust level. Trust level could be measured via positive identification of the person/device on the other side of the interaction medium, using various authentication schemes; location-based being one of the latest. As for the location-based services, the identity of a customer remains hazy as long as his location is unknown; he virtually remains a ghost in the air, with implications on trust. This paper reviews the various location-based authentication techniques with a focus on the role that GPS could play in optimising this authentication approach. It advocates the urgent need to make all transmission devices GPS-compliant as a way forward, despite the privacy issues that might arise.

Regularization of inverse problems in image processing

Jalalzai, Khalid 09 March 2012 (has links) (PDF)

Seifert, Michael 25 November 2008 (has links) (PDF)
This paper presents the potential applications of temperature-supported hydroforming of various magnesium and aluminium alloy tubes using active liquid media. It includes details of material and semi-finished product characterisation, the design of temperature-supported hydroforming equipment and tools, thermography measurements on the semi-finished product under real conditions and verification of simulation results for the temperature-supported hydroforming tool. The main focus, however, was the systematic, experimental approach to determining the maximum increase in perimeter ∆umax as a function of the forming temperature ϑu, the material and the wall thickness s0 in the temperature range 22°C to 300°C for three trial geometries (T‑piece, cylinder and cuboid) at internal pressures of up to 800 bar. In addition to studying the effect of process parameters, material properties, semi-finished product characteristics and initial wall thickness, the paper also presents the finding that forming temperature and forming geometry have a significant impact on achievable increases in perimeter. Perimeter expansions of up to 120 % were attained (at ϑu = 300°C). Statistically designed experiments were used to determine the minimum component outside-radii to undergo the forming process. A new equation for calculating the maximum internal pressure pimax was generated from regression equations. By verifying this equation, it was possible to demonstrate the high level of accuracy in predicting the internal pressure required for a given minimum component outside-radius Rmin as a function of the tensile strength Rm as f(forming temperature) and of the wall thickness s0. This means that the temperature-supported hydroforming tool and system equipment can be designed far more accurately. Component analyses after the temperature-supported hydroforming process demonstrated the high level of dimensional and geometrical accuracy and the high quality and more consistent surface finish. Despite the onset of dynamic re-crystallisation, the strength of the material was increased in the forming zone in all the materials tested. The knowledge gained from researching the fundamental principles was applied to a real component with a complex shape in studies of temperature-supported hydroforming of the "front car cross-member", which provided further useful insights. It was found that the use of temperature-supported hydroforming magnesium components has considerable potential for further weight reduction in lightweight constructions.

The process of modernization that the Brazilian agriculture has been submitted to in the last decades, has engendered profound modifications not only in the basic technique of the production process, as in work relations as well as the relation of the sectors that have been established between Agriculture and Industry, and mainly the relations of social production. The results of changes in the social relation of production tend to establish significant repercussions in the structure of the social field classes, conducting the small farmers to process social differences. This study was based on the analysis between the small fruit farmers, from Irrigation Projects of the sub medium region of the São Francisco valley, in Petrolina PE, more specifically, in Bebedouro and Nilo Coelho. In this deceitful environment the main condition of uneven revenue was verified, which could be leading the small producers surveyed to the social class structure, which they are found. Therefore, the aspects in the order of quality, concentrated on the social profile of the producers and how much it refers to the productive behavior of the social factors involved in the process, such as the important directives that would permit the understanding of this relation that was established in the development of capitalism in the agriculture. The evidence presented by the data discussed in this study identify that, usually the colonials reveal themselves indifferently, as much as in the aspects of quality and quantity, revealing a great resistance from the farmers to the challenges of commercial rivalry with the agricultural industries as well as the capacity of resporse to the demands of the modernized technology and production restructuring.
