Analisar o trabalho no contexto do final do século XX e início do século XXI é pensar em multiplicidade, multicausalidade, transversalidade. / Analyzing labor in the end of the twentieth century and early twenty-first century is thinking of multiplicity, multi causality, transversality. It is a complex phenomenon, increasingly multifaceted and heterogeneous. The analysis of labor relations in the poker game - the ways of life developed in it and through it - as well as their respective ailments have become promising when glimpsed by the analytical lens of the organizations strategic management policies, since both reveal themselves as social phenomena with characteristic subjective processes that allow a reading of the psychic, political and ethics features that make up our society. The overall objective of the research was, therefore, to understand the working relationship of professional poker players at the time of career recognition in the light of Psychosociology from a parallel with the management policies developed in strategic organizations. Data collection consisted of individual interviews and analysis of the works of three professional poker players to elucidate the points that comprised the analysis proposed by the research objectives. The discussion presented by the research ends up being an alert across the profession that is in wide development and thus deserves full coverage both in their legal, administrative as well as its accounting aspects, and in the sense of knowledge committed to workers' health (such as medicine, psychology, physical therapy, etc.), once the responsible professional practice (involving aspects of technical development - both the game, management - physical and emotional preparation) have helped to support and, more than that, the identity construction of several individuals worldwide. However, the exercise, that might be called irresponsible game...

Lek och allvar : Om pokerspelande på nätet

Eriksson, Daniel, Nilsson, Erik January 2006 (has links)

This study explores the relatively new phenomenon of online poker. More specifically, it elaborates on who the online poker player is, why s/he plays online poker, what the fascination of the game is, why s/he continues to play, and what the experience is. The study is delimited to focus on individuals who mainly play Texas hold’em online. The empirical material is based on semi-structured interviews with active online poker players, as well as on secondary data such as articles and literature. Both professional and amateur players are included among the respondents. The material has been coded and qualitatively analyzed. Earlier studies in the same field have also been brought to light and discussed, among which we especially centered on Reith’s theories about gambling and the gambler. Finally, the study concludes that the four factors primarily motivating the online poker player are excitement, money, social interaction, and the aspect of skill.
