This Master Thesis is an investigation linked to the master's program in Education at FCT / UNESP, and is in search line: Public Policy, School Organization and Teacher Education. Its problem is organized in the pursuit of conceptions of teachers from public schools in Presidente Prudente about sexuality education, as well as their responsibility in the sexual education of students. It also seeks to check the meaning that the teachers attributed to a university extension course on-line on Sexuality and Adolescents that they attended and see if there are actions of sex education in their educational practice, after 18 months of the course. The theoretical framework is based on the concept of critical-reflective teachers, discussed by several authors, and the idea of applying this concept to sex education. The research was conducted with thirteen teachers of 3d graders of the Municipal Education in Presidente Prudente-SP, from eleven different school units. The teachers participating in the survey were included in a course via online, in Moodle, conducted and coordinated by professionals of the EDUSEX - CEAD Sexual Education - Center for Distance Education at UDESC - State University of Santa Catarina, called Talking about Adolescent Sexuality, an institutional partnership between FCT-UNESP / NUDIS - Center for Sexual Diversity in Education and UDESC... O trabalho explicita as variáveis envolvidas nessa contradição e propõe soluções. / Sex education at school comprises a variable key for the critical development and political and social emancipation for the students. However, in fact, it is not effective. The reluctance of the legislative and the omission of the executive, subordinated by conservatism, have primary responsibility for the maintenance of that condition. Considering the formal education has a strategic role of working with themes related to sexuality, some actions in that area should be encouraged and guaranteed by the Government. These assumptions are made by this research as pillars of intervention that are pleaded. In that context, the research was based on the objective of analyzing the educational material about sexuality and studies made by teachers that work with sex education in Public School System in Sao Paulo State. This study was inspired by post-critical theoretical work and its analysis was based on own methodological tools of phenomenology. Data were collected through a literature search and a field survey and structured by scattered questionnaires virtually. Research has showed that many enterprises are concerned with the implementation of sex education and that the teachers are committed to its demands, although the practice is still poor. This work explains the variables that are involved and it proposes some solutions.

Tax compliance across sociodemographic categories: Meta-analyses of survey studies in 111 countries.

Hofmann, Eva, Kirchler, Erich, Bock, Christine, Voracek, Martin 10 1900 (has links) (PDF)
Tax compliance varies across sociodemographic categories. However, research on the relationships between compliance and age, sex, education as well as income level shows inconsistent results, both regarding the direction of the relationship and its size. The current meta-analyses target to merge findings in survey studies on age, sex, education, and income and estimate the strength of the impact on compliance by taking into account geographical regions. In four meta-analyses, comprising 459 samples (N = 614,286) from 111 countries published between 1958 and 2012, average estimated effect sizes were small, ranging from r = 0.12 for the relationship between compliance and age, r = 0.06 for sex, r = -0.02 for education to r = -0.04 for income. These effects are more pronounced in Western countries. It thus appears sociodemographic characteristics have little impact on compliance, but nevertheless should be controlled for in tax research.

Mothers’ perceptions of sex education for adolescents with intellectual disabilities : A Systematic Literature Review

Su, Lijin January 2019 (has links)
Adolescents with Intellectual disabilities (ID) have the same sexual and physiological developments as typically developing adolescents, including the same sexual feeling and sexual needs. However, because of cognitive limitations and lack of self-care abilities, they have a higher risk of sexual assault than others. As all other youth they need sex education to prevent sexual exploitation and to learn how to protect themselves. Since parents often are the primary caregivers of adolescents with ID, and they are also the primary educators of adolescents’ sexual education, parents play a crucial role in the development of adolescents’ sexual behavior. It is vital to understand what parents’ perceptions on sex education are. In the past, there have been few studies on the perceptions of parents on sexual education for adolescents with ID. Therefore, this paper aims to explore their perceptions through a systematic literature review. A series of electronic databases were searched, and three studies were identified for the review based on inclusion criteria. Content analysis was used to synthesize the results of the included studies. Findings show that mothers want to provide appropriate sex education for their children, including how to protect themselves and education on inappropriate sexual behavior, and family planning is not included in sex education, and believed that school could be the best choice regarding on providing sex education. The study also found that mothers have barriers to providing sexual education, such as lack resources and supports, poor knowledge about the sexuality, lack of confidence and sexuality is a very private matter. But there are also facilitators, the important role and responsibility of the mothers in providing sex education in the family, and the open and honest way in which the mother communicates with her children about sexual issues. These findings will help teachers or practitioners to consider the situation of parents when developing sex education programmes for adolescents with ID.
