Surendran, Amal, Kaliyilil Ashokkumar, Ashish Kumar January 2020 (has links)
Management of water resources are the cornerstones of environmental protection. There willbe an increase in demand for water in the coming years and it is our responsibility to reserveour resources whether it is salt or fresh water. While analysing the paths of water being utilized, major amount is getting wasted through toilet flush. An average amount of water used in asingle toilet flush is about 9 litres and an individual will be using the toilet on an average of 5times a day which will be huge gallons of water in a minute around the world. In order to savethe ecosystem and to become sustainable waterless toilet systems are the optimum solution. Inthis thesis, waterless toilet technologies marketed by different manufacturers are deeplyanalysed and scaled the maturity level of technologies using the technology readiness level. Atechnology-market portfolio is created which helps to provide the current status of the waterlesstoilet technology systems in the international market. The pandemic created due to the coronavirus have led this paper to identify the opportunities that waterless toilets can have in the futurewith the help of innovations like smart toilet and artificial intelligence.

[pt] HISTÓRIAS DE VIDA DE LÍDERES NEGROS NO MERCADO DE TECNOLOGIA BRASILEIRO: EXPERIÊNCIAS SOBRE TRAJETÓRIA DE CARREIRA, BARREIRAS E FACILITADORES DA ASCENSÃO PROFISSIONAL / [en] LIFE HISTORIES OF BLACK LEADERS IN THE BRAZILIAN TECHNOLOGY MARKET: EXPERIENCES ON CAREER PATHS, BARRIERS AND FACILITATORS OF PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT

NATASHA THEREZINHA ROSINO GERALDO 01 October 2024 (has links)
[en] The mobility of black professionals in companies, especially in the technology market, is the objective of this research. The technology market is a promising market with high investment and growing professional opportunities, serving as a space that can promote social advancement, however, there is still a low representation of black leaders in this market, even with several diversity and inclusion initiatives sponsored by technology companies. To understand the path to leadership positions, what helped and what hindered this path, 10 black leaders, men and women, from the technology sector, were interviewed. They are professionals from the most diverse positions and technology companies with various sub-divisions. Narrative interviews were used to learn about the professionals life stories. Subsequently, thematic analysis was applied to better understand the barriers and facilitators, even serving as a possible guide, keeping in mind the caveats of being a small sample of people, but acting as a first step towards elucidating these issues and helping companies and professionals who can follow the same path. Several important topics were addressed, from organizational invisibility, communication aspects, as well as quotas and the important family support, creating an interesting picture that can serve as a basis for other career acceleration initiatives or for those professionals who need to manage and plan their own careers. The aim of the research is also to be an agent of transformation, another link in the search for equal opportunities among minority groups.

上海技術交易市場及技術鑑價體系之研究 / The Research on Technology Market and Technology Valuation System of Shanghai

吳達蓮, Wu, Da Lian Unknown Date (has links)
In Mainland China, the government is promoting the “technology market” in order to push the technology into the market these years. The “technology market”, including STTE, Saviaq and technology transfer agent office, is a platform for technology transfer and exchange. This research surveys these intermediary organizations of technology transfer and exchange, and the technology evaluation organization in Shanghai. By visiting the STTE (Shanghai Technical Transfer Exchanger), Saviaq, Ke-Hua asset evaluation office and technology transfer agent office, this research wants to know how this platform work, and focuses on how they evaluate the technology and how these organizations work, the background of these organizations established and if the platform has the risk free prevent process in the dealing of technology transfer and exchange or not. In Mainland China, the main function of “technology market” is offering an information platform of technology transfer and exchange. The Saviaq and STTE combine with many preferential treatment policies for pulling in the capital and the high educated people with the working experience in high technology industry. The “technology market” in Mainland China is growing rapidly recently. This platform has four main functions: communication between the investors and the technology owner, evaluation of the technology, corresponding with the dealers, organizing and makes some activities to promote the technology transfer and exchange. The technology evaluation is one part of capital evaluation. Because the political background of communism, the development of the capital evaluation industry is limited by the old government system and laws. The evaluation has no efficient for the dealer in the real market, it just a legal process of the technology transfer and exchange. The final price of the technology transfer and exchange is decided by the dealing. About the evaluation and risk free prevent process of the technology transfer and exchange is not very sufficient. The “technology market” just does the simple identification of the reality of the technology because identifying the reality need profession and much manpower, but the resource is limited. The “technology market” is just a platform which offers the deal information to the members of their organization. The people can find the technology which they want to invest, and they can make detailed evaluation by themselves.

Exploring M&A motivations and lessons from the past - A single case study in HRM technology market

Das, Alisha January 2024 (has links)
Mergers and acquisitions(M&A) are strategic route for companies to grow inorganically. Despite its complex nature and higher failure rate, companies continue to pursue this route. A plethora of research is available on mergers and acquisitions. However, most of them are either quantitative studies focused on financial aspects, or some qualitative studies done to explore the aftermath of post-merger integration (PMI). This qualitative case study aims to explore the motivations for companies to choose M&A as a strategic route for growth, and also highlight the key lessons derived from previous experiences of both pre- and post- acquisition phases. While doing so, it also sheds light on Human Resource Management (HRM) technology market where currently M&A is a dominant strategy for growth. The literature review is divided into two parts: motivations and M&A process which covers both pre- and post-acquisition phase. The case study is conducted in an organization that continues to pursue this route and has significant experience of M&A. People from senior leadership, management were interviewed, and a data-driven thematic analysis was conducted. The findings were discussed in relation to the existing theory as well as three dimensions: strategic logic, organizational behavior, and finance. These dimensions are used as a theoretical guidance to interpret the motivations and lessons with regards to the M&A performance. Some of the findings resulted in association with more than one dimension, highlighting the multi-dimensional nature of M&A and that its success or failures should be viewed in combination of these dimensions rather than only focusing on one aspect. In addition to it, the findings also reveal the opportunities and potential for M&A in the HRM technology market emphasizing on the need for more studies of M&A in this field.

Chemical and biological studies on human oxygenases

Thinnes, Cyrille Christophe January 2014 (has links)
As depicted in Chapter I, 2-oxoglutarate- (2OG) dependent oxygenases are ubiquitous in living systems and display a wide range of cellular functions, spanning metabolism, transcription, and translation. Although functionally diverse, the 2OG oxygenases share a high degree of structural similarities between their catalytic sites. From a medicinal chemistry point of view, the combination of biological diversity and structural similarity presents a rather challenging task for the development of selective small molecules for functional studies in vivo. The non-selective metal chelator 8-hydroxyquinoline (8HQ) was used as a template for the generation of tool compound I for the KDM4 subfamily of histone demethylases via application of the Betti reaction. Structural analogue II was used as the corresponding negative control (Figure A). These compounds were characterised in vitro against a range of 2OG oxygenases and subsequently used for studies in cells. I displays selectivity for KDM4 and increases the level of the H3K9me3 histone mark in cells. It has an effect on the post-translational modification pattern of histone H3, but not other histones, and reduces the viability of lung cancer cells, but not normal lung cells, derived from the same patient. I also stabilises hypoxia-inducable factor HIF in cells via a mechanism which seems to be independent from prolyl hydroxylase inhibition. This work is described in Chapters II and III. The chemical biology research in epigenetics is complemented by qualitative analysis conducted in the social sciences at Said Business School. With a global view on how innovation occurs and may actively be fostered, Chapter IV focuses on the potential of epigenetics in drug discovery and how this process may actively be promoted within the framework of open innovation. Areas of focus include considerations of incremental and disruptive technology; how to claim, demarcate, and control the market; how knowledge brokering occurs; and insights about process, management, organisation, and culture of open innovation. In contrast to the open-skies approach adopted for the development of a tool compound in Chapters II and III, a focused-library approach was taken for the generation of a tool compound for the OGFOD1 ribosomal prolyl hydroxylase. The development of a suitable in vitro activity assay for OGFOD1 in Chapter V enabled the development of lead compound III in Chapter VI. III is selective for OGFOD1 against the structurally closely related prolyl hydroxylase PHD2.
