[pt] Verificando a presença na narrativa de Mongólia de características como a fragmentação, a não-linearidade, a complexidade e fractalidade nossa pesquisa propõe uma leitura da cartografia do texto sob a ótica da teoria do caos. Nesse contexto, terá como objetivo identificar quais são as condições de produção que permitem a leitura de um texto como um sistema complexo. Recorre a pressupostos de áreas como os estudos culturais, a psicologia, a teoria literária e a teoria do caos. Mapeia- se a estrutura narrativa do livro para a identificação e comprovação de que características comuns à teoria do caos estão presentes na narrativa em estudo. Verifica que a fragmentação da identidade pós-moderna reflete-se na construção do texto e permite a exploração de recursos como a expansão extra e intradiegéticas, aproximando a estrutura narrativa do livro à definição de um sistema complexo ou caótico. / [en] By verifying the presence of some characteristics in the narrative of Mongolia, such as fragmentation, the non- linearity, the complexity and fractalidade our research considers a reading of the cartography of the text under the optics of the theory of the chaos. In this context, it will have as objective to identify which are the production conditions that allow the reading of a text as a complex system. It appeals to prior knowledge in areas like culture studies, psychology, literature theory and the theory of chaos. The narrative structure of the text is mapped out so there is an identification and evidence that those characteristics common to the theory of the chaos are present in the narrative which is being studied. It verifies that the fragmentation of the posmodern identity is reflected in the construction of the text and allows the exploration of intradiegetic resources as the extra expansion and approaching even more the structure narrative of the book to the definition of a complex or chaotic system.

[pt] O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar as manifestações literárias produzidas pelos autores pertencentes à Literatura Marginal, buscando compreender as principais características textuais e políticas deste movimento. Nessa perspectiva, os produtos discursivos marginais serão vistos como manifestações contra-hegemônicas, resultantes de um esforço em produzir uma imagem própria sobre a vivência marginalizada, silenciando, assim, qualquer outro discurso produzido fora do espaço periférico. Para tanto, foi utilizado um arcabouço teórico que possibilita ler as formas de agenciamento político produzidas por este grupo. Além do exame do objeto literário, é realizada uma aproximação destas narrativas com o movimento Hip-Hop, mais precisamente com o RAP, colocando em relevo as muitas semelhanças quanto à estrutura textual das formas poéticas e as formas de veiculação de um discurso que almeja a conscientização dos leitores/ouvintes. Por se tratar de uma experiência literária pouco comum, a presença de escritores marginais em nossa série literária também apresenta novos questionamentos sobre a função e o papel do intelectual. Se outrora era o intelectual quem desempenhava a função de portavoz destes grupos, agora são os próprios marginais que rompem com a passiva posição de objeto e passam a figurar como sujeitos. Ao lançar um olhar crítico sobre esta disputa discursiva é possível identificar as tensões que o movimento de autores periféricos inaugura. / [en] The present study aims to analyze the literary work of authors who are part of the Literatura Marginal (Literature from the Outside) as a way to understand the chief aspects of this movement’s writing style as well as its main political characteristics. From this perspective, the productions of the periferia discourse will be understood as counter-hegemonic manifestations that originate from an effort to produce a specific view that reflects the marginalized experience, thus silencing any other discourse produced outside of the periferia space. To this end, we developed a theoretical outline that brings an understanding of the kinds of political engagement produced by this group. In addition to examining the literary product itself, this study considers the parallels between this type of narrative and the Hip-Hop movement, more specifically Rap, highlighting the many similarities between them as they relate to the structure of the writing and the way the discourse is disseminated, aiming at the conscientization of readers/listeners. Because this relates to an uncommon literary experience, the presence of periferia writers in our literary series also raises new questions about the role of the intellectual. If before it was the intellectual who acted as the spokesperson for these writers, now the outsiders themselves break with the passive role of objects and claim their place as protagonists. In bringing a critical view to this debate it is possible to identify the tensions that the periferia authors bring to this discussion.

A aluna-escritora usa a escrita criativa como ferramenta para dialogar com os escritores e as teorias contempladas desde seu ingresso na graduação em Letras, habilitação em Produção Textual. Seus estudos e leituras no mestrado em literatura acabam por percorrer questões que indagam o papel de escritora e são exteriorizadas. / [en] Celestino is a thesis developed in the form of a novel. The author uses creative writing as a tool to engage with writers and theories contemplated throughout the graduate and post graduate degree programs in liturature. The research in the MA degree program inquire into the role of the writer and influenced the structure in which the novel was written.

[pt] O trabalho intitulado Fabulação histórica em textos literários contemporâneos tematiza os diversos aspectos da relação intercambial entre história e literatura na produção metaficcional contemporânea. Em perspectiva sociológica, foram relacionados possíveis temas, formas e estilos de textos literários com a história do país de onde esses textos se originam. Os exemplos literários escolhidos no presente trabalho problematizam e ensaiam uma escrita da história fora dos eixos tradicionais de causa e efeito e da reprodução do realismo literário clássico. Sua tessitura narrativa apresenta-se de forma caleidoscopial ao trabalhar a estratificação identitária e ideológica de seus escritores justamente de maneira díspare. No entanto, isso não significa que tal literatura cuja temática aborde a história possa dispensar o real por conta de sua crise de representação à medida que a eclosão de possibilidades narrativas oferece novos aspectos dessa realidade que, atrelada à história sem ser por ela pautada, reverberem justamente esse excesso como o ponto fulcral de sua produção escrita. A análise da produção contemporânea realizada em Portugal através de alguns autores-chave (como José Saramago, António Lobo Antunes e José Cardoso Pires) identificou diferentes paradigmas próprios da fabulação histórica em textos literários contemporâneos. A literatura aqui perscrutada parece revelar a ânsia desmedida de se rever sua própria história nessa diversidade de práticas discursivas de reconstrução da história literária. Nessa articulação emergiu todo o potencial estético-literário e crítico-político de uma escrita que, do ponto de vista metaficcional, representa questões relativas tanto a seu processo – formas de contar a história baseada na estruturação narrativa de caráter ficcional – quanto a seus objetivos – a discussão de questões ideológicas subjacentes à motivação desses escritores. / [en] The work entitled Historical confabulation in contemporary literary texts wants to reflect about the various aspects of intercambial relationship between history and literature in contemporary metafictional production. In sociological perspective, were listed possible themes, forms and styles of literary texts in the history of the country from which these texts originate. Literary examples chosen in this work question and rehearse written history outside the traditional lines of cause and effect and reproduction of the classic literary realism. Its narrative texture presents itself in a caleidoscopial form when working identity and ideological stratification precisely in a disparate manner. However, this does not means that such literature whose themes addressing history may dispense this real because of its crisis of representation as the emergence of narrative possibilities offers new aspects of reality which, linked to the story without being guided by it, just reverberate that excess as the focal point of their written production. The analysis of the contemporary production held in Portugal through some key authors (as José Saramago, António Lobo Antunes and José Cardoso Pires) identified different paradigms of historical fable in contemporary literary texts. The literature scrutinized here seems to reveal the rampant urge to revise its own history in this diversity of discursive practices of literary history reconstruction. In this articulation emerged all the aesthetic-literary and critical-political potential of a writing which, from a metaficcional point of view, represents issues concerning both its process - ways to tell a story based on the narrative structure of fictional character – and its goals – the discussion of ideological issues underlying motivation of these writers.

[pt] A dissertação apresenta um estudo, através da leitura de obras de Pedro Nava, Valêncio Xavier e W.G. Sebald, sobre a relação entre o arquivo e a literatura, concentrando o foco sobre obras contemporâneas de cunho memorial que investem na inserção de objetos de arquivo e documentos como parte da obra literária, tanto implicitamente, na elaboração do texto, quanto, explicitamente, na justaposição à escrita de imagens documentais (com destaque para a fotografia). Explorando, desse modo, um efeito de índice, através do qual o objeto literário é evidenciado como construção material, as obras trabalhadas permitem à pesquisa abrir reflexões relevantes sobre a relação imagem/palavra, sobre representação, sobre realismo e sobre hibridismo literário, visando uma reflexão ampla sobre o espaço da literatura na contemporaneidade, marcada pela quebra dos gêneros e dos modelos tradicionais. / [en] The dissertation presents a study, through the reading of works of Pedro Nava, Valêncio Xavier e W.G. Sebald, about the relations between archive and literature, concentrating the focus over contemporary works of memorial tone that invest on the insertion of archival objects and documents as part of the literary work, not only implicitly, in the development of the text, but also explicitly, in the juxtaposition to the writing of documental pictures (with emphasis on photography). By exploring, in that way, an effect of index, by which the literary object is put on evidence as material construction, the works studied allow the research to produce relevant considerations about the relation picture/word, about representation, about realism and about literary hybridism, aiming a wider consideration about the space of literature in the contemporary world, marked by the fall of genres and of models of tradition.

[pt] A partir do conto O cônego ou metafísica do estilo, de Machado de Assis, a presente dissertação propõe um traçado teórico em torno dos conceitos de estilo e de escrita, investigando em que medida o primeiro, se pensado à luz de outra base epistemológica que não a tradicional, é absorvido pelo segundo. Para tanto, observa-se como os conceitos em questão se comportam no interior da obra de Roland Barthes em contraponto com algumas formulações conceituais de contemporâneos desse teórico. O recurso ao pensamento barthesiano tem como objetivo principal, no entanto, ressaltar a preocupação de Machado de Assis com a escrita; preocupação essa presente, enquanto dobra teórica, em suas narrativas – espaço ficcional onde se pode rastrear o diálogo constante do romancista com a filosofia. Perseguindo essas referências fundamentais do fazer literário, passa-se, por fim, à discussão crítica da prática escritural à qual se lançaram alguns autores contemporâneos: recriar contos escolhidos do autor fluminense. / [en] Drawing from the short story The Priest or the Metaphysics of Style, by Machado de Assis, this dissertation proposes to follow a theoretical trajectory of concepts and styles of writing, investigating to what extent one, using this as another base of epistemology that s unorthodox, is absorbed by another. Such that we observe how the concepts in question operate in the work of Roland Barthes as counterpoint to some conceptual formulations of contemporaries in this school of thought. Meanwhile, Barthesian thought has as its principal tenet to reinvigorate the Machado de Assis preoccupation with the act of writing; the preoccupation is present, folded into the writing, in his stories – there is a fictional space where he can explore the eternal debate between a novelist and philosopher. Following these fundamental references to the literary craft, in the end, a critical discussion occurs on the practice of writing, from which some contemporary writers were spawned: thus they began recreating tales of the Carioca author.

[pt] O legado de Próspero: uma investigação do projeto narrativo de Ruy Duarte de Carvalho parte do estudo da peça de William Shakespeare intitulada A tempestade para verificar, segundo uma perspectiva pós-colonial, a abordagem da colonização nas narrativas do escritor angolano Ruy Duarte de Carvalho. Publicadas após a independência de Angola, nelas a experiência da colonização não se mostra como um processo plenamente findado, visto que suas marcas ecoam no presente. Assim, Próspero e Caliban (personagens da peça shakespeariana considerados, a partir da década de 1950, como respectivos símbolos do colonizador e do colonizado) e a simbologia da tempestade são aqui teoricamente retomados na tentativa de elucidar os novos impasses vivenciados após a descolonização angolana. Para se estabelecer a aproximação entre a peça de William Shakespeare e as narrativas de Ruy Duarte de Carvalho, levou-se em conta o diálogo teórico proposto pelo autor angolano ao nomear sua trilogia como Os Filhos de Próspero (aludindo ao processo de mestiçagem física e cultural advindo da colonização), bem como a recorrência temática da tempestade em sua criação artística. Nesta Tese, além das narrativas que compõem a trilogia Os filhos de Próspero – Os papeis do inglês (2000), As paisagens propícias (2005) e A terceira metade (2009) –, são também analisadas as obras Como se o mundo não tivesse leste (1977), Vou lá visitar pastores (1999) e Desmedida (2006). / [en] Prospers legacy: an investigation Ruy Duarte de Carvalhoss narrative Project analyses, upon a post colonial point of view, William Shakespeares play entitled The Tempest, to verify the colonization approach in the narratives of the Angolan writer Ruy Duarte de Carvalho. Published after the independence of Angola, these works dont show the colonization experience as a fully complete process since its traces reverberate in the present time. Thus, Prospero and Caliban (Shakespearean characters considered after the 1950s as respective symbols of the colonizer and the colonized) and the tempest symbology are theoretically discussed, in this research, to elucidate the new obstacles experienced after the Angolan decolonization. To establish the approach between Shakespeares play and Ruy Duarte de Carvalhoss narratives, the theoretical dialog proposed by the Angolan author naming his trilogy as Os filhos de Próspero (referring to the physical and cultural miscegenation process as a result of the colonization) was considered as well as the tempest thematic recurrence in his artistic creation. In this thesis, besides the narrations that set Os filhos de Próspero – Os papeis do inglês (2000), As paisagens propícias (2005) e A terceira metade (2009) –, Como se o mundo não tivesse leste (1977), Vou lá visitar pastores (1999) e Desmedida (2006) are also analyzed.

[pt] A dissertação investiga, na obra de João Gilberto Noll, a construção de um novo sujeito, marcado por um percurso e por uma representação em fragmentos na contemporaneidade. Procura-se evidenciar essa construção por meio das articulações da memória, da reinvenção de si mesmo e dos usos do corpo, identificáveis no desenvolvimento das narrativas e em seus protagonistas. O estudo lança, primeiramente, um amplo olhar sobre a obra do autor, privilegiando dois de seus romances como estudos de caso - Hotel Atlântico e Berkeley em Bellagio -, evidenciando a presença das questões investigadas. Posteriormente, o romance Lorde, o último do autor e ápice de seu projeto estético, é analisado, desenvolvendo-se aproximações entre as questões investigadas e mostrando como a obra de Noll aponta para a formação de uma nova noção de sujeito. / [en] The following thesis studies the construction of a new subject in João Gilberto Noll`s work, marked in contemporary time by fragmented path and representation. This construction is provided by the articulations of the memory, the reinvention of the self, and the uses of the body, all identifiable in the development of the narratives and its protagonists. Primarily, the study overlooks the author`s work, emphasizing two of his novels as case studies - Hotel Atlântico and Berkeley em Bellagio -, proving the presence of the studied questions. Secondly, Lorde - Noll s last novel and top work of his aesthetical project - is analyzed, developing confluences among the studied questions and showing how his work points to the creation of a new notion of subject.

[pt] Esta dissertação tem como objeto de análise o livro de contos O sol na cabeça (2018) do autor carioca Geovani Martins. O estudo pretende investigar as imagens dos contos que retratam o cotidiano do Rio de Janeiro, analisando a dinâmica social da cidade, bem como a dinâmica de existência dos personagens que representam a população periférica carioca. A partir do complexo desenvolvimento das práticas governamentais que subjugam os corpos periféricos, e que exercem um tipo de poder verticalizado na forma de biopoder, assim como o executa sobre eles na forma de biopolítica, esta pesquisa busca demonstrar, a partir de O sol na cabeça (2018), como despontam através de pequenas insurgências um tipo de força que engana a submissão exercida pelo biopoder e por sua biopolítica, manifestando-se através da biopotência que se cumpre em confronto aos poderes investidos contra os corpos no trânsito da cidade. / [en] The dissertation has as object of analysis the tales book The sun on my head (2018) written by the carioca autor Geovani Martins. The study intends to investigate the images of the tales that represents the everyday of Rio de Janeiro, analysing the social dynamic of the city, as well the dynamic existence of the characters that represents the carioca peripheral population. As from the complex development of government practices that subjugates the peripheral bodies, and that exerts a type of verticalized power in the form of biopower, as execute over them a biopolitics, this researche desires demonstrate, as from The sun on my head (2018), how emerges through little insurgences a kind of force that tricks the submission exercised by the biopower and for your biopolitics, manifesting through the biopotency that carries out by the confront with the powers that are invested against the bodies in transit in the city.

[pt] A tese investiga a representação da experiência urbana na contemporaneidade a partir da leitura de obras literárias e cinematográficas produzidas no século XXI. Busca-se entender como o tempo da pós globalização, atravessado pelo ciberespaço, ressignifica as relações entre o espaço público e o espaço privado. O aspecto transdisciplinar da tese acentuou o diálogo entre os textos clássicos sobre a cidade, de autores urbanistas, ampliando a pesquisa para cenários como o das cidades globais e as smart cities. A hipótese da tese é que a leitura da experiência urbana , no contemporâneo, passa, necessariamente, pela tensão entre os trânsitos do indivíduo e as diversas situações de encapsulamento que se apresentam, ora pela atração das telas digitais que substituem as “janelas” para o mundo, ora pela reclusão provocada pelo medo e pela insegurança nas cidades e conflitos de moradia, ou então pelas políticas de imigração que confinam imigrantes e refugiados em acampamentos e centros de detenção, por medida de segurança nacional. Frente à pandemia de 2020 que promoveu um estado de confinamento e lockdown nas cidades, foram incorporadas, na tese, produções publicadas entre os meses de março a julho de 2020. / [en] This thesis investigates the representation of urban experience today through literary as well as cinematographic works produced in the 21st century. Its aim is to understand how post-globalization times, permeated by cyberspace, bring a new significance to public and private spaces. The transdisciplinary aspect of the thesis emphasized the dialog among classical texts on the city by urbanist authors, expanding the research to different scenarios like global cities and smart cities. It implicates that reading about urban experience today, necessarily touches on the tension between an individual s journey and the encapsulating situations, that happen to come along, either by the attraction to digital screens that replace the windows to the world or by the seclusion caused by the fear and insecurity from living in the city, housing conflicts or yet, by immigration policies, that confine immigrants and refugees alike in campings and immigration centers, which aim to protect national security. Owing to the pandemic in 2020 that led to a state of confinement and lockdown in cities as a whole, works published between March and July of 2020 have been incorporated into this thesis.
