[pt] Esta dissertação examina o sofrimento dos assistentes sociais no confronto com a realidade de trabalho nos abrigos. As categorias principais utilizadas foram: instituição total, sofrimento psíquico e burnout. A partir das observações e relatos dos trabalhadores, a pesquisa identificou fatores do cotidiano dos assistentes sociais que geram sofrimento e como estes profissionais vivenciam estes momentos de extremo desgaste físico e mental. O referido trabalho questiona o modelo de abrigamento vigente e aponta as suas repercussões na vida dos sujeitos abrigados e dos profissionais. Neste processo de sofrimento infligido aos assistentes sociais foi identificado profissionais que ainda lutam contra a expressão pública de seu sofrimento, alguns em estágios iniciais de descompensações psicopatológicas e outros visivelmente adoecidos. Ao final a pesquisa aponta elementos significativos, de ordem estrutural e da conjuntura, que possibilitam um debate sobre as dificuldades vividas nesta relação de trabalho e discute as estratégias de enfrentamento ao sofrimento experimentado pelos assistentes sociais. Ainda que sob uma abordagem diferenciada, estas reflexões consequentemente se voltam para a qualidade dos serviços oferecidos e enfim para a ampliação dos horizontes de cidadania dos sujeitos. / [en] This article analyzes the distress of social workers in conflict with the reality of work in shelters. The main categories discussed are: complete institution/ establishment, psychic torment and burnout. From the observation and workers´ reports, the research identified aspects of the everyday activities of social workers that produce suffering and how these professionals experience these moments of extreme mental and physical consumption. The above mentioned work questions the present sheltering model and points out its consequences on the lives of the sheltered subjects and professionals. In this process of affliction imposed to workers, it identified cases of professionals who still struggles against the public expression of their suffering, some in initial stages of psycopathological instabilities and others clearly ill. At the end, the research points out meaningful elements of structural and junctural nature, what enables a debate about the difficulties experienced in this working relationship and discusses the strategies to overlook the suffering undergone by social workers. Though taking a different approach, these considerations consequently focus on the quality of work and on the horizon enlargement of subjects´ citizenship.

[pt] Este trabalho tem como objeto de estudo a prática do Serviço Social nos Conselhos Municipais de Assistência Social, enquanto nova demanda posta a este profissional. Procuramos identificar os impasses e os desafios colocados a estes profissionais, frente a este novo campo de intervenção, enquanto possibilidade de fortalecimento da participação da sociedade civil na construção de uma esfera pública democrática. Em resumo, este estudo pretende refletir qual tem sido a contribuição do Serviço Social aos Conselhos de Assistência Social, enquanto espaços de participação social e lócus privilegiado de intervenção profissional. / [en] This work has as studies object the practice of the Social Service in the Municipal Council of Social Attendance, while new demand cut to this professional. We tried to identify the impasses and the challenges placed these professionals, front to this new work field, while possibility of invigoration of the participation of the civil society in the construction of a democratic public sphere. In other words, it is necessary to contemplate which has been the contribution of the Social Service in the Council of Social Attendance, while spaces of social participation and privileged locus of professional intervention.

[pt] Durante o seu desenvolvimento histórico, o campo do design foi marcado por divisões epistemológicas e culturais que distanciaram o ensino acadêmico da prática profissional. Como forma de investigar a passagem entre a graduação e o início da carreira em design, a pesquisa teve como principal objetivo entender como se compara a prática de projeto em ambos os ambientes através das perspectivas de profissionais formados. A partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, discutiu-se o conceito de projeto no campo do design, seus paradigmas no ensino superior, suas relações com a prática profissional e as questões sociais que os permeiam. De forma complementar, foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas em profundidade e um questionário aberto com designers profissionais com experiências e perfis distintos. A partir da análise dos dados e do seu cruzamento com a bibliografia, foi possível concluir que um dos maiores desafios vivenciados pelos designers em formação é o alinhamento entre os perfis pessoais individuais com os perfis das universidades e empresas nas quais eles se inserem. / [en] The design field was historically shaped by epistemological and cultural gaps that separated academic education and professional practice. To investigate the transition between graduation and career in design, the research main objective was to understand how design practice compares in both environments through the perspectives of graduated professionals. From literature research, the concept of project in the field of design, its paradigms in higher education, its relations with professional practice and the social issues that permeate them were discussed. In addition, in-depth semi structured interviews and an open question survey were applied to professionals designers with distinct profiles and experiences. It was possible to conclude from comparing the data analysis with literature that one of the biggest challenges for designers in training is the alignment between their personal profiles with the universities and companies profiles.
