[en] SCENE RECONSTRUCTION USING SHAPE FROM TEXTURE / [pt] RECONSTRUÇÃO DO ESPAÇO TRIDIMENSIONAL A PARTIR DA DEFORMAÇÃO DE TEXTURA DE IMAGENSDIOGO MENEZES DUARTE 11 September 2006 (has links)
superfície, obtendo assim a orientação do vetor normal à
superfície em cada
ponto.
modelo tridimensional do
objeto. São avaliados três métodos. O primeiro emprega
a partir do mapa
resultados mostram a aplicabilidade, dificuldades e
restrições dos métodos
analisados. / [en] The current work presents a study about methods for 3D
object shape
reconstruction based on their texture information. These
methods, called Shape
from Texture, measure texture deformation along object
surface, obtaining the
orientation in each point of the image. Having the
orientation in each point (a
needle map) it is possible to construct the object 3D
model. Three methods are
studied in this dissertation. One of these methods uses
Gabor Filters and second
order moments, and other two that estimate the affine
transform between images
patches. The affine estimation problem gets emphasis in
the present work since it
is an essential step in most Shape from Texture
algorithms. The methods were
tested in separate steps: evaluate the affine transform
estimation; the
decomposition of the affine matrix in slant and tilt
angles; and the 3D model
reconstruction using the needle map. Both synthetic and
real images were used on
the experiments. The results clearly show the
applicability, difficulties and
restrictions of the investigated methods.

[en] INTERGENERATIONAL CONFLICTS: RECOGNITION AND ANALYSIS OF SOCIETY / [pt] CONFLITOS INTERGERACIONAIS: RECONHECIMENTO E ANÁLISE DA SOCIEDADEMARCELO KOKKE GOMES 08 March 2017 (has links)
[en] The present doctoral research perform articulation between the Recognition Theory and the Theory of Justice as an Analysis of Society, by Axel Honneth, as a path for critical analysis of social practices and institutions that establish social patterns of affirmation and refusal for the other into intersubjective relationships built and extended over the generations. The thematic focus takes as object the intergenerational conflicts and his postulations of disruption or preservation of legacy or inheritance among past, present and future generations in order to develop one approach that put them in a normative dimension linked to moral theory but not dissociated from social action expression. Understanding of intergenerational conflicts as struggle for intergenerational recognition, also including conflicts situated in the struggle for intragenerational recognition, accompanied by the normative reconstruction of social practices and institutions, allow conceive the intergenerational selfrealization. The intergenerational selfrealization, linked to Honneth s formal conception of ethical life, articulates moral and social actions, besides providing criteria for identification of social pathologies and mechanisms of negative recognition in social interactions.

[pt] RECONSTRUÇÃO DE SUPERFÍCIES UTILIZANDO TETRAQUADS / [en] SURFACE RECONSTRUCTION USING TETRAQUADS16 December 2021 (has links)
[en] Surface reconstruction is a problem that receives a lot of attention in Computer
Graphics due to the importance and the number of its applications. A
common solution is to represent these surfaces through triangular meshes.
This work introduces an alternative structure of tetrahedrons with cubics
defined in its interior, which are used to approximate the surface. Those cubics,
called TetraQuads, are third-degree implicit surfaces defined as an interpolation
of quadrics positioned at the tetrahedrons vertices. These elements
are constructed for an efficient visualization by the graphics hardware.
Objects defined in this manner contain more information from the differential
geometry point of view than a triangle mesh, which entails a more
complex modeling problem. This problem is discussed throughout the steps
of surface reconstruction from point clouds through TetraQuads.

[en] RAY TRACING DYNAMIC SCENES ON THE GPU / [pt] TRAÇADO DE RAIOS DE CENAS DINÂMICAS NA GPUPAULO IVSON NETTO SANTOS 14 September 2017 (has links)
[en] We present a technique for ray tracing dynamic scenes using the GPU. In order to achieve interactive rendering rates, it is necessary to use a spatial structure to reduce the number of ray-triangle intersections performed. Whenever there is movement in the scene, this structure is entirely rebuilt. This way, it is possible to handle general unstructured motion. For this purpose, we have developed an algorithm for reconstructing
Uniform Grids entirely inside the graphics hardware. In addition, we present ray-traversal and shading algorithms fully implemented on the GPU, including textures, shadows and reections. Combining these techniques, we demonstrate interactive ray tracing performance for dynamic scenes, even with unstructured motion and advanced shading effects.

[pt] REPRESENTAÇÕES SIMBÓLICAS DA MODA PLUS SIZE: A RELAÇÃO COM O VESTUÁRIO E A RECONSTRUÇÃO DA IDENTIDADE DE MULHERES BARIATRICADAS / [en] SYMBOLIC REPRESENTATIONS OF PLUS SIZE FASHION: THE RELATIONSHIP WITH CLOTHING AND THE IDENTITY RECONSTRUCTION OF BARIATRIC WOMEN30 September 2021 (has links)
[en] Consumer culture is an arena for the production and circulation of identity representations. In this space, the stigma of weight may directly impact the creation of an identity project. Faced with a recurrent difficulty in meeting their own clothing consumption desires, the identity projects of obese women have been impacted by the conditions established by the fashion industry, which has adopted a marginal position about the plus size segment for decades. However, despite the size of this segment, there is a lack of qualitative studies aimed at the symbolic consumption of plus size fashion in Brazil, especially with a view to identity reconstruction of women who have undergone bariatric surgery. Therefore, this work proposes to investigate, from an interpretive perspective, the symbolic meanings of the consumption of female plus size clothing and how bariatric surgery impacts the identity reconstruction of obese consumers and their relationship with fashion. By exploring this phenomenon, aspects such as the social stigma to obesity, the segregation of the fashion universe, and the retail influences on these women shopping experiences were highlighted. In-depth interviewing was conducted with 15 bariatric women, between 30 and 50 years of age, using the snowball sampling technique. All interviews were fully recorded and transcribed. The analysis used categories that emerged from the field. The results suggest the existence of a variety of subjective aspects associated to the identity reconstruction of these women, due to the experience of bariatric surgery, which reflects expressively in the various meanings attributed to the symbolic consumption of women s fashion, with emphasis on new consumption perceptions, habits, experiences, and preferences.

[en] USING DENSE 3D RECONSTRUCTION FOR VISUAL ODOMETRY BASED ON STRUCTURE FROM MOTION TECHNIQUES / [pt] UTILIZANDO RECONSTRUÇÃO 3D DENSA PARA ODOMETRIA VISUAL BASEADA EM TÉCNICAS DE STRUCTURE FROM MOTIONMARCELO DE MATTOS NASCIMENTO 08 April 2016 (has links)
[en] Aim of intense research in the field computational vision, dense 3D reconstruction achieves an important landmark with first methods running in real time with millimetric precision, using RGBD cameras and GPUs. However these methods are not suitable for low computational resources. Having low computational resources as requirement, the goal of this work is to show a method of visual odometry using regular cameras, without using a GPU. The proposed method is based on technics of sparse Structure From Motion (SFM), using data provided by dense 3D reconstruction. Visual odometry is the process of estimating the position and orientation of an agent (a robot, for instance), based on images. This dissertation compares the proposed method with the odometry calculated by Kinect Fusion. Results of this research are applicable in augmented reality. Odometry provided by this work can be used to model a camera and the data from dense 3D reconstruction, can be used to handle occlusion between virtual and real objects.
