Die Problematik der Nachahmung bei J.M.R. Lenz und Georg LukácsOffermanns, Natalia 21 August 2013 (has links)
The present work deals with the concept of mimesis/imitation in art and litera-ture, in particular with its use and interpretation by J.M.R. Lenz and Georg Lukács. Mimesis/Imitation as the basic concept of the arts plays a significant role in the development of realism both authors support. Both Lenz and Lukács share Aristotle's views on the Mimesis/imitation as the nature of poetry and see its origins in anthropology. However, in contrast to Aristotle Lenz emphasizes the empirical side of imitation; in principle awarding the artist the critical role and responsibility for the capture and reflection of the whole. Lukács converts his earlier metaphysics into a Marxist philosophy of history. In a homogeneous medium of art it should be possible for realistic art to show the essence and the particulars of the society of its time.

Suporte para a criatividade musical cotidiana : mixDroid Segunda Geração / Support for everyday musical creativity : mixDroid Second GenerationFarias, Flávio Miranda de January 2015 (has links)
Nowadays, it is common to see young people and adults using new digital technologies for music production as entertainment. However, most people are only listeners, hardly ever daring to create their own compositions or sounds because of the cost and the complexity of the programs targeted for musicians. The purpose of this research is to simplify music production for the public without musical experience. In this study, we used concepts and techniques of Ubiquitous Music to solve various problems: a prototype software called mixDroid 2G CS was developed, which uses a new interaction metaphor for mixing sonic content on mobile devices. Tests were conducted with students of an institution devoted to technical courses in computer science. Targeting the use of portable devices, the Android system was used on a variety of cell phones and tablets. In this volume, I will present concepts and the technical description of mixDroid 2G CS, including two experiments with real users. Based on the results of the experiments, I analyzed the implications of the creative's products profiles and the subjects' performance during the tasks, and indicated the limitations and perspectives for its use in creative activities, discussing the feasibility of its application in future projects.

Development and Exploration of the Crucial Cs Self Report InstrumentAngus, Emily 08 1900 (has links)
This study aimed to explore the ability to capture the theoretical constructs of Adlerian crucial Cs (capable, connect, count, and courage) through creation of a self-report instrument for children. After following a four-phase process to develop the Crucial Cs Self Report (CCSR), including use of an expert panel, field reviews, preliminary testing, and final administration, the researcher utilized a series of exploratory factor analyses to explore the internal factor structure and relationships between items and resulting factors. The final EFA sample consisted of 112 children between the ages of 8 and 12 years recruited from various settings including three elementary schools, two mental health counseling clinics, and one private practice mental health agency. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a three-factor structure with 14 items. Refined model identified three factors later named count/significance, connect/belonging, and capable/striving. This initial exploration into the constructs of the Crucial Cs provides increased understanding of the widely used concepts. Further exploration and validation of the CCSR can help support parents and teachers in their efforts to foster healthy development of children as well as allow professionals and researchers to conceptualize progress and measure effectiveness of counseling intervention more accurately.

SELF-COMPASSION, COPING & EMOTIONER : EN KORT INTERVENTION MED UNGDOMAR INOM E-SPORTEnbom, Ludvig, Forsell, Anton January 2022 (has links)

Morpho-Physiological Characterization of Cotton Chromosome Substitution Lines for Abiotic StressesAwasthi, Akansha 09 December 2016 (has links)
The chromosome substitution (CS) lines constitute an important genetic and breeding resources, increasing the genetic diversity of Upland cotton from other alien tetraploid species. Two experiments were conducted to quantify low temperature and drought stress effects during early growth stages in 21 cotton CS-lines with parent, Texas Marker (TM)-1. In Experiment I, plants were grown at optimum (30/22°C) and low (22/14°C) temperatures under optimum water and nutrient conditions. In Experiment II, plants were grown at optimum water and drought conditions. Above- and below-ground growth parameters including several root traits were assessed at 25 days after seeding. CS-lines varied significantly varied for many traits measured. Combined low temperature and drought response indices, derived from all measured parameters, showed CS-T04 and CSB08sh showed significantly higher and lower tolerance to low temperature, respectively, while CS-T04 and CS-B22sh showed significantly higher and lower tolerance to drought condition compared to TM-1.

A Study of Non-computing Majors' Growth Mindset, Self-Efficacy and Perceived CS Relevance in CS1Yoo, Jae Hyuk 01 September 2021 (has links) (PDF)
As the demand for programming skills in today’s job market is rapidly increasing for disciplines outside of computing, CS courses have experienced spikes in enrollment for non-majors. Students in disciplines including art, design and biological sciences are now often required to take introductory CS courses. Previous research has shown the role of growth mindset, self-efficacy and relevance in student success within CS but such metrics are largely unknown for non-majors. In this thesis, we surveyed non-majors in CS1 at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo during the early and late weeks of the quarter to gain insights on their growth mindset, their self-efficacy and the perceived relevance of the course to their lives. In our analysis, we discovered that non-majors’ levels of growth mindset and of self-efficacy decreased throughout the duration of CS1 with additional differences by gender. However, non-majors largely found that the material covered in CS1 was highly relevant to their academic and professional careers despite being challenged by it. These findings provide important insights into the experiences of non-majors learning to code and can help better serve a more diverse population of students.
