#brottsförebyggande : En studie av polisens brottsförebyggande arbete på sociala medier

Huisman Särelind, Malou January 2021 (has links)
The use of social media has increased over the past years. As part of the police authority’s strategic “to be where the public is”, the authority's presence on social media has also increased. Sharing crime prevention information and tips for reducing crime is one of the reasons the authority is present on social media. International studies have previously been conducted of the police's use of social media to reach out with crime prevention information but the matter hasn’t been studied in Sweden. Therefore examines the Swedish police's use of social media from a crime prevention perspective. The study examines what amount of crime preventive information is published, what type of crime prevention information is published and the factors that affect the amount of interactions the crime preventive information receive. As there is no definite definition of crime prevention information, this study is based on the theory of situational crime prevention in order to operationalize the concept of crime prevention information. The study is based on 1707 Instagram posts published by five different police accounts in Sweden. The results show that the amount of published crime prevention information varies between the accounts, but that in total it is 10 percent of all published posts. The factor that most influences the amount of interaction is the number of followers an account has, but factors such as linking a post to a specific site have a positive impact on the amount of interaction the posts generate.

Social Workers on Child Protection, in Conflict with Community Norms and Values : A Case Study of a Community Based-Organisation in Malawi

Sichone, Tawonga January 2019 (has links)
The study focused on highlighting challenges faced by social workers in child protection, the similarities, and differences in child protection values between the two parties and how social workers are perceived. This was with the problem that social workers face difficulties or clashes with the local community and specifically on cultural and traditional elements, although some surprising factors emerged as the study progressed. The study was qualitative with purposive sampling and used individual interviews for social workers and group interviews for community members in data collection. In general, the study involved both deductive and inductive approaches of research. In terms of specific qualitative data analysis, it involved phenomenology. Theories used in the study are the systems theory, utilitarianism, cultural universalism, and relativism. The findings indicated that social workers face challenges including Lack of Adequate Resources; differences of how families raise children; blame on the Social Worker; priority differences between culture, tradition and social work; spiritual and religious beliefs as a barrier; children and/or parents/guardians do not report due to shame and clients complained about procedures by social workers. It concluded that the major problem was the manner of approach and interaction between the community and social worker and that if the social workers follow cultural procedures and include community members more with the aid of adequate resources in some areas. In such, social work practice could be made better and this could pave a way for new related studies.

Regionala DMOs marknadsföring och sociala mediers påverkan

Angel, Mattias, Berggren, Albert January 2020 (has links)
Destination management organizations (DMOs) are usually structured by two or more member-organizations. One of the main tasks for a DMO is to market the destination. Social medias have changed the way a lot of organizations manages their marketing. Communication has gone from a static one directional, from the producer to the consumer, to a more dynamic two-way communication where the interaction between the two parts has become more important. In this paper we examine how swedish regional DMOs use social medias in their marketing. The empirical data has been gathered by qualitative semi-structured interviews with persons who work with marketing at four different swedish regional DMOs. This has been combined with analysis of the concerned DMOs social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. The results show that the different organizations have both similarities and differences in their strategic and operative use of social media in marketing efforts. /
2020-06-08

Urban Mobility among Lower Income Communities in Jakarta : A Study of the Bus Rapid Transit System

Wentzel, Lisa January 2010 (has links)
Urban planning research in developing countries has often focused on slum upgrading. Lately environmental issues have become increasingly important as well. Hence, transportation is an important field, as basis for the development of cities in developing countries, yet few studies on transport for the urban poor in developing countries have been conducted. Studies, which have been conducted, identify mobility as an important attribute for peoples employment opportunities, and, therefore, improving their living conditions. In Jakarta, transportation is, along with the battle against flooding and poverty, one of the most important issues for the future. This study explores the field of urban mobility in low-income communities in Jakarta, by looking at the newly implemented Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, through an explorative, descriptive and part explanatory approach. The BRT has been implemented to ease the chaotic traffic situation in Jakarta. But, in literature, BRT systems are argued to benefit the lower-income population as it provides cheap and fast transportation. The field study concludes that the BRT is used with restriction among the low-income residents, who were interviewed, due to several reasons. It infers that the BRT routes do not suite the travel patterns of the residents, besides, the fare including transfer costs becomes expensive. Consequently, the BRT has yet to make a significant impact on the low-income residents in Jakarta. / Minor Field Study (MFS)

In the Streets of Zanzibar : Constructions of Gender and Place

Gunnarsson, Ulrika January 2004 (has links)
This thesis studies the access and use of public spaces from a gender perspective, with Zanzibar Stone Town as a case study. The thesis brings together and discusses several theories that might explain the access and use of public spaces from a gender perspective; planning theory, theories about public space, theories about how places are gendered and Islam since the case study is carried out in a Muslim area. Moreover, the thesis takes a starting point in a feminist scholarship. The discussion shows that places and gender are constructed over and over again. Today, women are sub-ordinated men and have less access to public space, but this is a constructed fact. Since culture is not static, subordination of women can be changed into equality between women and men. However, the task is not simple and one might wonder whether spatial planners can do anything at all. This thesis argues that planners can put their piece to the jigsaw. They can facilitate a planning process that takes power relations into consideration and they can question the social and cultural constructions of gender and place. / QC 20110519

The Technology for a Fruitful Future? : Analysing UN Policies on Blockchain for Sustainable Development

Franz, Niklas January 2022 (has links)
This Thesis evaluates the relationship between how the United Nations position themselves to utilizing Blockchain Technology for Sustainable Development and human capabilities. Specifically, a human-centric lens with the Capability Approach is applied. In contrast to previous research the focus is directed towards the potential impact on human beings by large scale technology adoption rather than solely being focussed on aspects of economy or governance. Using concept driven Qualitative Content Analysis the thesis analyses published papers by UNCTAD, UNDP, UNEP, and WFP. The findings indicate that Blockchain Technology has the potential to have a significant positive impact on human capabilities and can contribute to the realization if the Sustainable Development Goals. However certain hurdles are yet to be addressed to realize this potential.
