本論文旨在述龍谿學之義理內涵，並言其於王門及中國學術史中之地位。凡一冊，約 十六萬字，共分四章及前言結論。 前言：記論文寫作之過程、體例、方法等。 第一章：龍谿生平及著述　記龍谿之名氏年籍、生平事蹟、及著書等。 第二章：龍谿師承　述陽明學之時代背景，義理發展過程，及討論三綱領之意含，最 後對陽明義理作一衡定，並提出陽明學之不足處，龍谿學便承此不足處而說。 第三章：龍谿學析論　為本論文重心。首節述龍谿本體論，討論良知之性相，及「四 無」說之意含，並取與「四有」說對勘，以明其間異同醇駁。次節述龍谿工夫論，討 論與工夫有關之問題，並引據龍谿工夫指點語，分本質工夫與助緣工夫敘述說明。 第四章：龍谿在王門中之地位，取王門中之江右、浙中、泰州諸大家，言其學說異同 ，以分出孰為陽明嫡傳。 結論：說明龍谿在中國義理學中之地位。
