In preparing job contracts for individual instruction, it was found that it would be almost impossible for any High School Instructor to secure enough reference material from other states to supply class needs. These contracts require information from practically every state if they are satisfactorily fulfilled. It is the intention of the writer that this write-up on Swine should accompany the job contracts. The write-ups contain nearly all of the information that will be required by the average student. If additional information is desired, it can be selected from the references given at the end of each chapter. / M.S.

Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades / Informe de Seminario para optar al grado de Licenciado en Ciencias Históricas / En este trabajo de investigación nuestro propósito es el estudio del ideario de las Fuerzas Armadas y las reformas realizadas en el aparato estatal a partir de la insurrección militar de septiembre de 1924, y considerando especialmente el primer gobierno de Carlos Ibáñez del Campo (1927-1931). En este sentido, nos gustaría precisar que la década del veinte en la historia nacional constituye una época particularmente importante para el Estado, debido principalmente a la aparición en el ámbito público de una mesocracia presente tanto en las Fuerzas Armadas como en una incipiente tecnocracia. Este sector social, al ingresar al aparato estatal, habría contribuido a diseñar, y a instaurar, una orientación primordialmente técnica por sobre la concepción constitucional-parlamentaria, predominante en la administraciones de comienzos de siglo.

Ambos os teóricos e dirigentes políticos marxistas, tinham em comum a luta pela revolução socialista e a oposição à burocratização da URSS. O primeiro se transformando em líder da Quarta Internacional, e o segundo em líder do POUM. / Abstract: This research is a study on the revolutionary strategy of the working class from the controversies and convergences between two personalities who represented the revolutionary tendencies of the Spanish working class: Leon Trotsky and Andreu Nin. These Marxist theorists and political leaders had in common the struggle for the socialist revolution and the opposition to the bureaucratization of the USSR. Mostramos como Rorty descontrói a Filosofia centrada na epistemologia, redescrevendo-a, em termos pragmáticos, como uma filosofia que não é mais o alicerce da cultura, mas se presta à busca de autonomia pessoal e auto-criação, deixando para a literatura o papel de possibilitar a criação e a manutenção do sentimento de solidariedade na comunidade. Salientamos o fato de Rorty propor a filosofia como busca de auto-realização inserida numa proposta mais ampla, a da sociedade liberal irônica, uma utopia criada pelo autor para superar os problemas não só filosóficos, mas sociais, políticos e éticos do homem contemporâneo / Abstract: In this work we present Richard Rorty's ideas, from our reading of Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature, 1979, in which he criticises the philosophical foundationalism, Consequences of Pragmatism, 1982, in which he elucidates this critique, and Contingency, irony and solidarity, 1989, in which he proposes a new philosophy. We show how Rorty deconstructs the epistemology-centered philosophy, redescribing it, in pragmatical terms, as a philosophy that is not the foundation of culture any more, but serves for searching personal autonomy and auto-creation, letting to the literature the role of making possible for persons to create and maintaining the sense of solidarity in the comunity. We enphasize the fact that Rorty proposes the philosophy as searching for auto-realization inserted in a broader proposal, that of the liberal ironic society, a utopia created by the author to overcome not only philosophical problems, but social, politic and ethical problems of the contemporary man / Mestrado / Mestre em Filosofia
