Prostituição feminina na Mélica e no Jambo arcaicos: imagens e temas / Female Prostitution in Archaic Melic Poetry and Iambus: images and topicsHernandez, Enrique Andres Carretero 23 April 2019 (has links)
The aim of this study is to analyze the representation of female prostitution and related topics on Greek early and late archaic melic poetry and iambus. The categories by which prostitutes were identified in Ancient Greece were pórnē and hetaira, and although pórnē is explicitly mentioned in early and late archaic poetry, hetaira is not - this term is first used with regards to prostitution in the classic period -, and this is one of the leading questions treated throughout this work. Fourteen fragments from four melic poets - Alcaeus, Sappho, Anacreon and Pindar - and two iambic poets Archilochus and Hipponax - have been considered for the purpose of this thesis.

Chronic use of glucocorticoids generally leads to the development of glucocorticoid resistance which involves a modulation of the expression of genes involved in inflammation or tumor progression as that encoding the MMP-9. MMP-9 expression is regulated by epigenetic mechanisms including histone acetylation governed by the balance HDAC / HAT (histone deacetyltransferase / histone acetyltransferase) and microRNAs (miRs). These mechanisms could be involved in the phenomena of cortico-resistance. However, epigenetic alterations occurring after chronic treatment with glucocorticoids and their repercussions on MMP-9 expression are not yet clearly understood. The aim of our study is to determine the role of epigenetic mechanisms in the phenomenon of glucocorticoid resistance through their involvement in the regulation of MMP-9 expression. We demonstrated that chronic exposure to glucocorticoids disrupted both the balance HDAC / HAT (favoring a histone hyperacetylation) and expression of miRs thus leading to an overexpression of MMP-9. In addition, we have shown that inhibiting HDACs by MS-275 thereby amplifying the phenomenon of histone hyperacetylation, the expression profile of miRs was more disturbed. This disturbance has affected MMP-9 expression and secretion. In conclusion, we have shown that histone acetylation and modulation of miRs expression of harmony miRs could act to control the expression of MMP-9 in a glucocorticoid resistance context.

A Methodology For Lining Design Of Circular Mine Shafts In Different Rock MassesGuler, Erdogan 01 March 2013 (has links) (PDF)
The objective of this thesis is to predict lining thickness inside circular mine shafts. A numerical study with different rock mass strengths and different in-situ non-hydrostatic stresses are carried out in 2D shaft section models to predict pressures that develop on lining support. An iterative process of applying support pressure until observing no failure zone around shaft is used to simulate lining support pressure for each individual model. Later, regression and fuzzy logic analyses are carried out to find a pressure equation for all of the models. Finally, the pressure equation derived is used in elastic &ldquo / thick-walled cylinder&rdquo / equation to calculate the lining thickness required to prevent the development of a failure zone around shafts. At the end of this research, a computer program &ldquo / Shaft 2D&rdquo / is developed to simplify the lining thickness calculation process.

Wavelet-based Outlier Detection And Denoising Of Airborne Laser Scanning DataAkyay, Tolga 01 December 2008 (has links) (PDF)
The method of airborne laser scanning &ndash / also named as LIDAR &ndash / has recently turned out to be an efficient way for generating high quality digital surface and elevation models. In this work, wavelet-based outlier detection and different wavelet thresholding (wavelet shrinkage) methods for denoising of airborne laser scanning data are discussed. The task is to investigate the effect of wavelet-based outlier detection and find out which wavelet thresholding methods provide best denoising results for post-processing. Data and results are analyzed and visualized by using a MATLAB program which was developed during this work.

Developing A Coal Transportation Cost Estimation Model For Turkish Coal EnterprisesDemir, Ebru 01 February 2009 (has links) (PDF)
Transportation cost is an important item in total operating cost of an open pit mining operations. In some projects, the transportation cost may reach to 60 % of total operating cost. Turkish Coal Enterprises (TKi) delivers the demanded coal to all cities of Turkey within the context of Prime Ministry Social Solidarity and Aid Fund. The project duration, demanded coal amount whether the coal is needed as packed or unpacked form are determined by local governors. In this study, a model is developed through software, called NAKMAL for the estimation of TKi&rsquo / s coal transportation cost. Transportation cost model is coded using Visual Studio.NET 2005. This model is designed in modular structure and composed of 19 modules. Excavation and transportation in a mine is an important part of the model. Model considers all the highway, railway and transportation by ship alternatives, as well as the packing operation. This model is being used in evaluation of bids by the decision of TKi&rsquo / s board of executive committee.

May 2010, 91 pages
The aim of this research was to investigate the possibility of the production of a magnetite concentrate which is suitable for preparation of heavy media from iron ore tailings of Gü / ncem Mining Company magnetic separation facility.
During the study, three different tailings named as low grade, medium grade and high grade with 5.91 % Fe3O4, 19.06 % Fe3O4 and 37.06 % Fe3O4, respectively, were used. Mineralogical analyses of test samples showed that magnetite and hematite were the major ore minerals while pyrite and chalcopyrite were found in trace amounts. Actimolite, tremolite, epidote, chlorite, quartz, calcite, and dolomite were the gangue minerals. The effects of feed particle size and applied magnetic field intensity on the Fe3O4 grade and recovery of concentrate were examined throughout magnetic concentration tests. The highest grade magnetite concentrate with 79.98% Fe3O4 content was obtained with 65.42% recovery from 100% -75 micron size feed at 1000 Gauss magnetic field intensity from high grade tailing.

Investigation Into The Effect Of Meteorological Parameters On The Airborne Dust Concentration At Ovacik Open Pit Gold MineEsenkaya, Ercan 01 May 2004 (has links) (PDF)
In this thesis, it is aimed to investigate and analyze the effect of meteorological conditions on airborne dust measured at Ovacik Open Pit Gold Mine. Meteorological data must be sound and reliable which are used mainly to design an air model to predict the effect of industrial sites on air quality during production. Wind speed, wind direction, airtemperature, air pressure, relative humidity, rainfall, evaporation and sunshine. are the parameters investigated in this study. In the thesis, the meteorological data observed are analyzed and discussed together with the airborne dust measured by MP101M Suspended Particulate Beta Gauge Monitor at Ovacik Gold Mine.
In this study, the most significant meteorological parameter
affecting airborne dust concentration is determined as air temperature. In this study, it is also determined through airborne dust measurements that
neither the short-term limit nor the long-term limit has been exceeded. Therefore, the airborne dust concentrations at Ovacik Gold Mine comply with the Turkish Air Quality Control Regulation.
