Konceptframtagning av en kaffekvarn : Formspråket och dess betydelse för en enhetlig produktserie / Concept development of a coffee grinder : The importance of design language when creating a unified product range

Långström, Johannes January 2018 (has links)

A study that underlies the development of a 3TEMP Hipster thermos

Thirslund, Christian January 2020 (has links)
The report includes a study that underlies a development of a 3TEMP Hipster thermos. The report includes development of a new concept with suitable material that is supported by calculations. The entire process from requirement specification to a completed concept of the thermos is in detail described. The quality of the thermos in terms of usability and design has been beneath required level and is wished to be improved. A central part of the project includes a study of a spiral shaped tank consisting of spiral wound pipes as a alternative. The study showed by replacing the traditional cylindrical tank with a spiral shaped pipe instead resulted in an increased mass, higher heat loss while filling. However, the improved and increased isolation thickness results in a improved insulation effect than existing thermos that favor it while being used. The thermos contains a design that symbolise quality and exclusivity. The electropolished austenitic stainless steel SS-2333 is by the dimension 25.4 x 1.65 mm in order to allow roll bending as manufacturing method to create the tank system where the material also improved the quality of the thermos. The study also resulted in alternative material to apply for the thermos such as phenolic foam and austenitic stainless steel AISI 205 in order to increase the quality of the thermos. Also, Tomlinson tap is utilized to increase the usability for the customers. The solution of alternative is also presented as a geometry modelling in CAD and was shaped to meet 3TEMP’s requirements.

Konceptframtagning av integrerad kaffemaskin / Concept development of an integrated coffee machine

Björk, Adam January 2017 (has links)
This thesis is done during the spring semester 2017 for the Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design programme at Karlstads University. The contractor of the thesis project was 3TEMP AB, based in Arvika, Sweden. 3TEMP has a vision that with a new type of product they will be able to establish themselves on a new market, the domestic market.  They have plans on a coffee machine that can be integrated into new bought and currently existing kitchens. The company already have solutions to how the product's main function should operate, what is needed is a concrete concept.  The purpose of the project has been to produce a concept on an integrated coffee machine that guides the user to proper use and simplifies maintenance. In order to achieve this, the design process has been used. The design process included a preliminary study, idea generation, concept development, concept evaluation and finally construction. Based on the client's requirements, what has emerged from user interviews and market analyzes, a product specification has been produced. The requirements of the product specification was certain measurements, the product must be user friendly, product self cost and 3TEMP's existing brewing mechanism must be applied.   The idea generation has been conducted together with classmates and other students who studies innovation and design. The people chosen for the idea generation are all involved in the product development process and are familiar with the methodology used. The ideas that emerged from the generation have been combined with each other in different designs. The ideas combined have been compiled into several concepts that then were evaluated using an elimination matrix, relative decision matrix and a criteria weight matrix. The final selection of concept was made by the contractor.   The definitive concept include elements from the contractor's design of their existing products, in order for the product to suit the company's identity. The chosen concept has been tested with physical models to ensure that 3TEMP's existing technology should fit in the design and that all dimensions are correct. A more detailed model was made, as well as a CAD model to visualize the concept. A sectioned image created in CAD displays the layout of the product. Rendered images of the product were made where the product is seen integrated in a kitchen.

Konceptutveckling av en integrerad kaffebryggare / Concept development of an integrated coffee brewer

Isberg, Philip January 2018 (has links)
The project was carried out for the Bachelor Degree of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering, performed at Karlstad's university. The contractor 3TEMP develops high-quality equipment for the professional coffee market. They now want to develop a home product and take a step into the consumer market. 3TEMP has its own patented process and accompanying technical units that need to be complimented with a concrete concept. The project has followed an engineering approach and started with a project plan containing timetable, organization, risk assessment and file management. The project consisted of the phases: planning, preliminary study, product specification, concept generation and evaluationas well as layout design. A product specification was created, based on the results of the preliminary study, which satisfies the user's wishes and needs as well as the client's requirements. According to the preliminary study, the user wants a product that is stylish, fast as well as easy to understand with smart solutions for everyday life. A trend analysis was carried out concerning kitchens and kitchen appliances, showing that multitoned kitchens in varying colors, materials and motifs are the new ones that are sought after. Installation possibilities have been investigatedand used as a starting point in the concept generating process were the product specification was used as a check list to screen invalid ideas. The resulting concepts were further screenedby two different methods, first an elimination matrix and then a relative decision matrix. The contractor made the final decision. The concept was further developed through sketching where it was given a form, a set of buttons and a display. The sketches was concretized in CAD and rendered as high resolution images.
