The Search for Genetic Structure and Patterns in Vietnamese Frogs

Ngo, Andre 01 August 2008 (has links)
Vietnam has the greatest biodiversity of any country in Indochina. This diversity may be due to its topographically complex nature, with hills and mountains, drained by several independent river systems, covering three quarters of its area. Topographic complexity has undoubtedly had profound effects on the flora and fauna of the region. Recent surveys have uncovered several cryptic species in what were previously considered single widespread species. These discoveries have led some researchers to propose that widespread forest species do not, in fact, exist in Southeast Asia. To test these hypotheses, I examined patterns of mitochondrial phylogeny in several groups of frogs, both at and below the species level. Additionally, these analyses helped clarify the otherwise chaotic picture of anuran taxonomy and systematics. The stream–tied waterfall frogs of the genera Amolops and Odorrana were examined, the monophyly of the ranid subfamily Amolopinae was rejected, and taxonomic adjustments were made. The phylogeny of the Vietnamese narrow–mouthed frogs of the genus Microhyla was recovered and the current taxonomy examined. Patterns of maternal dispersal and genetic differentiation in mitochondrial DNA were further examined within Microhyla heymonsi, revealing geographic structuring and the existence of two sympatric lineages. Lastly, frogs of the Polypedates leucomystax complex were examined and two major, largely sympatric lineages recovered. Within these groups, 11 separate mitochondrial lineages identified. These represented separate species on the basis of advertisement call and allozyme evidence. The relationship of genetic differentiation and river systems was also investigated and common patterns among the different groups were explored. Clear genetic breaks occurred across both the Red River and the Annamite Mountain range, though most common patterns were groupings of populations along river drainages. While several cryptic species were identified, widespread groups likely representing single species still exist, and a phylogenetic component to broad distribution were noted.

Výběrové řízení na post ředitele školy z pohledu českého učitele a zřizovatele / Selection procedure for the position of school director from the point of view of Czech teachers and headmasters

Jaroš, David January 2015 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with various views of potential school directors and headmasters of the school director selection procedure. The work is divided into the theoretical and the research part. The theoretical part analyses the legislation relevant to the selection procedure for the school director, i.e. The School Law and law No. 82/2005. In the practical part author used the questionnaire to find the ideas of potential school directors and headmasters of the selection procedure and of The School Law novelisation. The goal of this thesis is to find how differs these ideas. The conclusions of this work can be used for the improvement of the school director selection procedure in the Czech Republic. The work is based on the literature listed at the end and on the questionnaire survey, which was performed with 115 potential school directors and 13 headmasters. KEYWORDS school director, headmaster, selection procedure, novel No. 472/2011, selection board

Marktaustrittsverfahren in Litauens Übergang von der Befehls- zur Marktwirtschaft

Saupe, Simone 04 October 2012 (has links) (PDF)

Vocare, uocatio, leurs préverbés et préfixés : étude sémantique / Vocare, uocatio, prefixed verbs and nouns : a semantic study

Rébeillé-Borgella, Marie 12 December 2012 (has links)
This PhD thesis deals with uocare, uocatio, prefixed verbs on uocare and nouns derived from prefixed verbs on uocare, and specially with their meanings and the way they are connected one to each other, in the works of Latin-speaking christian writers at patristic era and in the Vulgate. This work has two aims : it turns on the one hand on the study of the network of meanings specific to each lexem in christian writers’ language and of the semantic interactions existing between verbs our research focuses on and the nouns derived from them, and also between uocare and prefixed verbs and uocatio and nouns deriving from prefixed verbs on uocare, and on the other hand on the influence of the Bible’s latin translation on the formation of the networks of meanings of the studied terms. This research is based on the method called componential analysis, which consists in dividing the meaning in pertinent minimal semantic features, in order to initiate groups of meanings and to have the hierarchy of meanings become evident.
