Kempe, Gustaf January 2005 (has links)

Jönsson, Ingela January 2018 (has links)

Artificial Reverb vs. Real Recorded Reverb in the Back Channels in a 5.1 Surround Setup

Emilsson, Adrian January 2018 (has links)
When recording music for surround audio engineers sometimes face limitations in time, ideal microphone positions or a noisy audience. If this cannot be dealt with at the location, artificial reverbs are often used in the mixing to “fill in the blanks”. In this study, three instruments were recorded separately with two 5.1 surround microphone setups. Two audio engineer students created artificial reverbs that replaced the back channels of each microphone setup. A listening test was conducted where test subjects compared the 5.1 real recording to the two other stimuli with artificial back channels in terms of realism, envelopment and preference. The result showed that the real recording and the artificial back channels were interchangeable, but that the artificial back channels pointed towards more envelopment, and that the real recording pointed towards more realism.

Dialogue and Sound Effects interaction : Investigating strategies to maintain dialogue intelligibility in 5.1 mixes

Gkonou, Niki January 2021 (has links)
Film audiences have expressed continuous criticism about film sound, claiming that in many situations dialogue is difficult to hear. This issue raises questions about the factors that have negative impact on speech intelligibility and points to investigate strategies that maintain dialogue intelligible in a 5.1. This study investigates how listeners, audio engineering students, experience dialogue intelligibility, when different mixing techniques as dynamic equalization and ducking are applied to the sound effect. The results show that both signal processing techniques, dynamic equalization and ducking, are able to improve dialogue intelligibility and furthermore, dynamic equalization has been proved as the most effective.

Osobnostní fungování u pacientů s neurotickou poruchou / Personality functioning among people with neurotic disorder

Koderová, Hedvika January 2021 (has links)
This thesis focuses on comparing personality functioning among neurotic patients and the general population. The mapping of levels of personality functioning was done using the semi- structured personality functioning interview STiP-5.1 according to the DSM-5 alternative model for personality disorders. The main aim of the study was to determine whether there is a difference in personality functioning between neurotic patients (N = 30) and the general population (N = 30). Differences were observed in the dimensions and aspects of the semi- structured interview of the STiP-5.1. The literature review section of the paper presented the understanding of anxiety and neuroticism from different perspectives and directions. Space was devoted to the origin and emergence of anxiety and its manifestations. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis focused on the conception of neurotic disorders by classification manuals. Personality functioning according to DSM-5, different aspects and theoretical background were presented. Attention was paid to the definition of functional and dysfunctional personality abilities in the context of personality pathology. Subsequently, the two topics discussed were linked in a chapter that dealt with their interaction. In the empirical part of the thesis, the STiP-5.1...

Postoje žen s hraniční poruchou osobnosti k jinakosti / Attitudes of women with borderline personality disorder to otherness

Muchová, Aneta January 2021 (has links)
This thesis explores the attitudes of women with borderline personality disorder towards otherness. The aim of the thesis was to explore the relationship between different personality characteristics of five women diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and their attitudes towards themselves and representatives of otherness. For these purposes, the Semi- Structured Interview for Personality Functioning (STiP-5.1) assessing personal functioning in the personal and interpersonal domains and the experience sampling method (ESM) were used, through which the respondents recorded the intensity of emotions felt towards themselves and various representatives of otherness for 30 days. The data were processed qualitatively into five case studies. The results indicated significant intraindividual variability in emotions toward self and representatives of otherness. The methods could find application in the treatment process and therapy, whereby assessment of personality functioning could contribute to the overall current picture of the patient and the variability of their psychological attitudes in response to certain life events could be monitored using ESM. KEYWORDS borderline personality disorder, otherness, STiP-5.1, experience sampling methodology

Strukturovaný rozhovor pro alternativní model poruch osobnosti ve vztahu se sebeposouzením / Structured interview for the alternative model of personality disorders in relation to self-report

Afanasyeva, Krystsina January 2021 (has links)
This thesis deals with diagnostic methods for personality disorders - a questionnaire LPFS-BF 2.0 and a semi-structured interview STiP-5.1. Both methods assess the level of personality functioning from The DSM-5 Alternative Model for Personality Disorders. The main aim of that study is to compare a self-report method and a method based on clinical assessment on a sample of N = 30 non-psychiatric group and N = 30 clinical group. Diagnostic criteria for personality disorders in accordance with valid classification systems are presented in the theoretical part of the study, with an emphasis on benefits and limitations of the DSM-5 alternative model. Categorial and dimensional diagnostic approaches were compared and critically evaluated. Existing diagnostic methods for personality disorders were then discussed, structured interviews and questionnaires were analyzed more in detail. Specifics in use of self- report methods and structured interviews for assessing personality disorders were also discussed. In the empirical part a quantitative analysis was held to discover whether both methods mentioned above assess the same level of personality functioning, and also whether both methods differentiate between the control and clinical groups. The results have shown significant correlations between scores of...

Thus, due to changes in environmental conditions and effect of necessary human health by use of biotechnology has brought the principal object of this work is to analyze the precautionary principle and the process of releasing plants genetically altered and improved, in particular of cultivars and of transgenic crops under the legal perspective. Because two processes were analyzed for release of genetically modified organisms, which are the "rice LL62" Bayer and the bean "GM Embrapa 5.1" of Embrapa, being that the first is an application of experiment and the second a request for marketing. Noting that both the studies of genetic improvement and the protection of the environment are guarded by the Federal Constitution of 1988. Also, due the questions in the legal field study examined whether the Commission's release process Tecnic National de Biossegurança CTNBio follows the fulfilment of the minimum specifications required by the precautionary principle and whether they are sufficient to ensure food safety and to avoid possible irreversible degradation of the environment. Social and legal context, remaining evidenced differences polemics in relation to the said applications for the release and the precautionary principle, which encounters a single technological challenge to be respected. Thus, the Judiciary, under the Constitutional vision, the environment and administrative nature, should grant the scientific advancement with the fulfilment of minimum requirements for these releases or require the fulfilment of bureaucracy hailed by society?

Le Bagousse, Sarah 29 April 2014 (has links)
Nowadays, recording and restitution technologies focus on a spatial rendering of sound. Before their broadcast, the quality evaluation of sound excerpts is often necessary. Methods recommended by the international telecommunication union denote some weaknesses about sound attributes to be evaluated. For example, spatial dimension is barely taken into account. A methodology dedicated to the assessment of spatial audio quality is proposed in order to avoid some biases. With a free categorization and a multidimensional scaling, 28 attributes were clustered in three families '. Timbre, Space and Defecfs. These three categories were included in a listening test split into two sessions : first, the assessment of overall quality and then, the evaluation of the three categories presented simultaneously on a same interface.Tests were conducted without explicit reference, but, the original version was considered as a hidden reference. Moreover, three specific anchors, each one associated to dedicated categories, were defined and then were mixed to define a unique anchor impaired in three ways. The method was tested on a 5.1 system and on binaural contents with headphone restitution. lntermediate quality of contents is recommended as well as contents with relevant spatial effects. The interest of a multicriteria assessment is to identify which properties of sound are impaired. Linear regression shows that Defecfs and Timbre attributes have influential weight on overall quality while the weight of Space attribute is more dubious.

Hur skall en ishallsvägg byggas? : Fuktrisker och mögelanalys / How should an ice hall wall be built? : Moisture risks and mold analysis

Yousif, Shather, Douglah, Amir January 2017 (has links)
In Sweden there are many ice halls and ice halls climate differ from the usual buildings' climate, because temperatures are lower indoors than outdoors during the summer months. This results in a higher vapor content outdoors compared with indoors during the course of the year. Moisture transport takes place from the outside towards the ice halls, which is contrary to what happens in a common building. During the critical period, the vapor transport direction is inward. When the hot air hits the cold surface of the wall structure, it leads to a risk of condensation in the wall that leads to moisture damage. Moisture damage can impair the wall structure and lead to unwanted consequences. The purpose of this study was to dimension a number of walls that meet climate conditions, which are done by dynamic humidity calculation in WUFI Pro 5.1 with adapted climate data and real climate data and then mold analysis in WUFI Bio. The aim of the bachelor thesis work was that the results from this study can then be used as a guide to the future building of ice skating walls. The results from WUFI Pro 5.1 and WUFI Bio have shown that a number of walls designed during this master thesis are judged to work as well as revealed how an ice hallway wall should not be constructed. The conclusion shows that climate conditions control the design of the wall structure.
