The diploma thesis is focused on analyzing the range of suppliers in the IFE - CR, according to the used methods for finding the suitable candidates for implementing a returnable packaging. Apart from there are identify the materials, which could be used for reversible covers. The part of thesis is the proposal of covers and their economic evaluation and comparison with actual using containers. For getting the advantage of introducing the returnable packaging, the payback time of the project is determined. The characteristics of including area such as logistics, supply chain, production and used methods of analysis are part of the diploma thesis.

The subject of the diploma thesis is storage and current storage technology in a business company. The first part of the thesis defines the theoretical basis of logistics, supply, international trade and especially warehousing. The practical part is focused on the current situation in the company and inventory analysis. Based on the analysis and all the findings, two proposals were submitted that could contribute to the company to improve the current storage and storage technology and thus increase customer satisfaction.

Food waste is a global concern due to its negative contribution to all aspects ofsustainability and organizations are looking for new ways to directly impact their own food waste and operate their business in a more sustainable way. Part ofthe food waste stems from warehouse activities where mishandling and poorly packed rolling storage containers (RSCs) lead to damaged items during transport. The storage assignment dictates how the items are ordered in awarehouse and is therefore responsible for how items are packed into RSCs. Due to the lack of previous research in this area, this thesis aims to investigate how the multi-criteria ABC-analysis can be used to optimize the storage assignment with the intent of minimizing food waste. A qualitative case study at Warehouse X was conducted where ten employees highlighted several criteria such as weight, volume, and similarity, that all need to be considered when optimizing the storage assignment. A total of nine criteria were used to generate eight classes that are used in the proposed multi-criteria ABC-analysis. The proposed model can be used by all actors in the Swedish food industry to improve their warehouse operations and operate them in a more sustainable way to reduce their food waste. It is also generalizable to warehouses outside the Swedish food industry

Purpose – The purpose of this master thesis is to explore how an e-tailer selling bulky items can use a multiple criteria ABC analysis to make its purchasing process more effective, while balancing richness and reach, with the performance measurements of profitability, total asset turnover and inventory turnover. The purpose will be accomplished through a single case study on an e-tailer active on the Swedish furniture and home furnishing market. Methodology – This thesis applies a multiple criteria ABC-analysis to a single case study. The approach is semi-deductive as theory is combined with interviews on how to match and adapt theory about inventory control and purchasing with the specific requirements of an e-tailer selling bulky items. Findings – This thesis has resulted in a set of recommendations that aim to make the purchasing process of an e-tailer more effective. That is, capital and inventory space will be better allocated to the e-tailer’s more profitable items. Among other things, this thesis shows how dead articles can be identified and how a purchaser can prioritize more profitable articles over less profitable ones when making procurement decisions. The other recommendations are for the e-tailer to investigate the possibilities of decoupling the supply chain by keeping stock at the suppliers’ premises, to match the supplier reliability with their importance in the supply chain, and lastly to explore possibilities of drop shipment. Further, the main finding is that a comparison between the A-, B-, and C-classes and the reliability of the suppliers, highlights a gap and a possible risk. Put differently, the importance of a specific item for the business should be reflected in the choice of supplier and the multiple criteria ABC analysis is the tool to illustrate the importance. De andra åtgärdena handlar om att undersöka möjligheter att frikoppla försörjningskedjan genom att lagra produkter hos leverantören, att matcha leverantörernas pålitlighet och deras betydelse i försörjningskedjan, och slutligen att utforska möjligheter att utöka drop shipment. Det främsta bidraget är att eventuella felprioriteringar och risker blir tydliga genom en jämförelse mellan A-, B- och C-klasserna och leverantörernas pålitlighet. Med andra ord bör den affärsmässiga inverkan som respektive artikel har på e-handlarens resultat avspegla sig i valet av leverantör. This thesis is called "Stock Management in the Store". The main aim of the thesis is to determine the optimal size and composition of inventory assortment in the store. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretic and practic one. The first part was focused on stock management in the business unit. The selected store was characterized in the practical part. Subsequently, was selected five specific samples of goods selected assortment categories - meat products, dairy products, pasta and drinks. On these groups of products was accomplished optimization. This optimization was accomplished by analysis of selected products, Economic Order Quantity and Direct Product Profilitability.

The aim of the diploma thesis was optimization of the warehouse system according to suitability for use in assortment in a selected production company focusing on material and information flows, decay processes, warehouse technology, logistic costs and relevant logistics indicators. The partial objective was to determine the critical factors in terms of management and operation in the warehouse of the selected manufacturing enterprise.

This thesis deals with the packaging of purchased components that enter into the production process. Based on the conducted analysis, proposals have been developed for improving the existing logistics process in order to optimize the processes of reception, registration, and expenditure of purchased components, and to simplify and eliminate basic types of wasteful use and activities that do not bring value into the process.

This diploma´s thesis is focused on design of the logistics concept of selected production section in manufacturing firm with using logistics method Just In Time. In analytical part is analysed current situation of managing material flows for selected production sections, ways of supplying production units and amount of stock which is stored in production areas. In proposal part are suggested some changes in various spheres along with new design of the logistics concept and possible economical contributions in case of applying this logistics concept.
