Echchorfi, Rachid 06 September 2013 (has links) (PDF)

The role of indigenously-associated abuscular mycorrhizal fungi as biofertilisers and biological disease-control agents in subsistence cultivation of morogo / Mohlapa Junior Sekoele

Sekoele, Mohlapa Junior January 2006 (has links)
The study examined interactions between morogo plants, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and Fusarium species. Morogo refers to traditional leafy vegetables that, together with maize porridge, are dominant staple foods in rural areas of the Limpopo Province such as the Dikgale Demographic Surveillance Site (DDSS). Morogo plants grow either as weeds (often among maize), occur naturally in the field or are cultivated as subsistence crops by rural communities. Botanical species of morogo plants consumed in the DDSS were determined. Colonisation of morogo plant roots by AMF and Fusarium species composition in the immediate soil environment were investigated in four of eight DDSS subsistence communities, Isolated AMF were shown to belong to the genera Acaulospora and Glomus. Twelve Fusarium species were isolated from soil among which Fusariurn verticilliodes and Fusarium proliferaturn occurred predominantly. Greenhouse pot trials were conducted to examine the effect of AMF on morogo plant growth (cowpea; Mgna unguiculata) and Fusarium proliferatum levels in soil, Interaction between plants and AMF, as well as tripartite interactions of cowpea plants, AMF and Fusarium proliferatum were investigated. Non-inoculated cowpea plants served as controls for the following inoculations of cowpea in pots: (i) Fusarium proliferatum; (ii) commercial AMF from Mycoroot (PTY) Ltd. (a mixture of selected indigenous Glomus spp referred to commercial AMF for the purpose of this study); (iii) indigenous AMF obtained from DDSS soil (referred to iocal AMF for the purpose of this study); (iv) commercial AMF plus Fusarium proliferatum; (v) local AMF plus Fusariurn proliferatum. Results showed reduced root colonization by local as well as commercial AMF when Fusarium proliferatum were present. Local AMF significantly enhanced cowpea growth while commercial AMF apparently reduced the level of Fusarium proliferatum in the rhizosphere and surrounding soil. Results suggest that AMF may have potential as biological growth enhancers and bioprotective agents against Fusarium proliferatum. / Thesis (M. Symbiotic relationships of Alnus glutinosa with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and with Frankia

Orfanoudakis, Michail January 2003 (has links)
The occurrence in Scotland of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) infective on Alnus glutinosa and the effects on early growth of inoculation of seedlings with AMF and Frankia were investigated. AMF characteristic of G/omiw-like fungi were detected microscopically in A. glutinosa roots from mineral and loam but not from highly organic soils. Both GJomus- and Gigaspora-like fungi were detected only in roots from sandy soils. Glasshouse experiments showed that Glomus and Gigaspora species gave higher colonisation of roots, and were of higher compatibility with the host plant, than Acutelospora or Scutettospora species. Colonisation by AMF increased nodulation by Frankia and vice versa. Inoculation with AMF alone and dual inoculation with Gigaspora rosea and Frankia inhibited growth of young A. glutinosa seedlings. Initially after inoculation, AMF colonisation was poor allowing the host to meet the requirements of both developing symbioses. Mycorrhizal plants inoculated with Frankia 15 days after AMF inoculation, were under significant stress and this delayed the beneficial effects of AMF and Frankia symbiosis. Seedlings compensated for the cost of symbiosis by developing a larger, leafy shoot in a period of 25-30 days after AMF inoculation, with or with out, Frankia nodulation. A significant increase in root length and branching detected after inoculation with AMF and Frankia must impose additional energy requirements. However, the stimulation of lateral root branching that follows AMF colonisation may facilitate nutrient uptake, thus helping the plant to overcome the disadvantages of early retardation of shoot growth. Competition with adjacent plant species for below ground space may also be enhanced thus facilitating competition for growing space with other plant species. These factors may be part of a strategy that assists the survival of very young seedlings in the field. The data obtained suggest that delaying Frankia inoculation for 3-4 weeks after inoculation with selected AMF should improve the production in Scottish nurseries of robust, well nodulated and mycorrhizal seedlings.

This species has high ecological adaptability and can grow in a wide variety of environmental conditions, presenting good development in both dry tropical regions and humid equatorial zones. In the regions where physic nut is being cultivated a large number of spores of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) has been found and the plants have beneficial relationships in association with these fungi. The objective of this work was to survey the AMF species in association with different accesses of physic nut, as well as to compare the diversity of these fungi when physic nut is subjected to different edaphoclimatic conditions, using classical methods of identification for these microorganisms, complemented with molecular techniques. In this context, a total of 19 AMF species were identified in the rhizosphere of physic nut, besides individuals identified only at the genus level. Differences in the occurrence of AMF species among the areas of Viçosa, Canaã and Nova Porteirinha, as well among the different accesses cultivated in this last area were observed. In all areas, the numbers of AMF spores ranged from 89 to 728 per 100 cm3 of soil and the mycorrhizal colonization percentage ranged from 50,67 to 72 %. The species of the genus Glomus were the most abundant. Individuals of physic nut of the same origin, grown in remote regions but with similar edaphoclimatic conditions, present similar AMF species. However, the different accesses showed a variation in AMF population in the rhizospheric soil from the same area. The sum of morphological and molecular methods showed a more complete set of information on the diversity of AMF in the rizosphere of physic nut. These results represent the first reports related to the composition of AMF species in physic nut plantations in different geographical areas. / Studies mycorrhizal fungi try to elucidate the contribution of microorganisms in the transport of signaling between plants compounds, since they form a network that connects the underground mycelial and plant substances are able to translocate between neighboring plants. The aim of this study was to evaluate the contribution of mycorrhizal fungi in inducing resistance of tomato to Meloidogyne incognita race 2. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse and the experimental design was a completely randomized design, consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replicates, totaling 20 plots. Each plot was constituted by a dual system connected initial vessel containing a plant on each side of the vessel, where a plant has been called issuing (I) and one receiver (R).The treatments were derived from the combination of the potted issuing plants with and without mycorrhiza, respectively (IM + and IM-) connected the potted receiver plant with and without mycorrhiza (RM + and RM-). The experiment was conducted in two phases, phase I and phase II. It started with phase I the introduction of nematode inoculum (4000 eggs and J2 Meloidogyne incognita race 2) only at the sides of the pots containing the issuing plants with and without mycorrhiza (IM + and IM-), and those remained in contact with nematodes for 45 days. After this period, we proceeded to double the separation vessel connected. Phase II began after the separation vessel and addition of the nematode inoculum in receiver plants 45 days remaining in contact with the nematodes in the greenhouse. The results showed that issuing plants inoculated with mycorrhizal were more likely to parasitism by M. incognita race 2, with lower plant development and increased susceptibility to nematodes. The receiver plants that were in contact with the issuing plants with mycorrhiza (IM+) during the preconditioning showed better growth and lower susceptibility to M. incognita revealing thereby that were stimulated during Phase I, the activate mechanism of defense against the pathogen.

The aim is to obtain a complete solution for characterization, identification and numerical simulation of SMA structures undergoing multiaxial loading paths. A unified experimental database has been constructed to characterize the behavior of superelastic NiTi SMAs. This database includes tension, compression, tension-tension and tension-compression multiaxial tests at different temperatures. A characterization methodology has been developed on a multiaxial testing setup, which has been assembled in the laboratory during this Ph.D. project. Vital information about the strain fields for each test is added to the experimental database through the use of Digital Image Correlation. A significant difference in the thermomechanical behavior between the rolling and transverse directions has been observed, even when the specimens are not strongly textured. Two strategies were developed that rely on the minimization of a regularized cost function for identification of thermomechanical constitutive law parameters. The first identification procedure is based on uniaxial homogeneous tests at different temperatures. In the other strategy the information of strain fields of heterogeneous tests are utilized. In each case, the eight material parameters of the constitutive law of Chemisky et al. (Chemisky et al. 2011) have been identified. A difference between the identified parameters in the rolling and transverse direction is noted and corresponds to the effect of anisotropy. Nevertheless, the capabilities of the relevant identification strategies shall allow the determination of the parameters of anisotropic constitutive laws.

Etude comparée des systèmes de sanctions en droit des marchés financiers en France et au Canada / Comparative study of the sanction systems in financial markets law in France and in Canada

De Ravel d'Esclapon, Marion 13 December 2016 (has links)
The persistence of financial frauds since the creation of the stock exchange has made it clear that sanctions are a fundamental aspect to ensure the effective functioning of financial markets. Currently, our sanction system relies, for the most part, on the action of the financial regulator, the Autorité des marchés financiers. At first sight, French law offers a very modern system. However, frauds keep on happening, affecting drastically the trust of the investors in the system. In order to improve our sanction system, the comparison with Canadian law has revealed to be very rewarding. It is possible to make our system more efficient by implementing a special jurisdiction, which would be responsible for all the financial markets disputes, in order to make our sanction system more coherent and unified.

For that, rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) and basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) plants were previously inoculated with G. etunicatum and G. clarum in greenhouse under the temperature of 26 l 20C and luminosity of 3000 Lux. The soil was sterilized and composed by one part of sand and one part of earth. The inoculum was composed by the fungi spores [500 spores of G. etunicatum in (50 mL-1) soil and 700 spores of G. clarum in (50 mL-1) soil] and micelium and roots fragments infected by the AMF. In each plant inoculated the following variables were evaluated: plant height (PH), plant dry weigt (PDW), roots fresh weight (RFW), sporulation rate (SR), root mycorrhizal percentage (RMP) and macro and micronutrients level (MmL) present in the plants and in the soil. The G. clarum and G. etunicatum influence in the control of F. oxysporum wilt in both plants was also evaluated. The inoculation of the pathogen (5x103 spores mL-1) was separatety realized in the rosemary and basil plants after 90 days of the mycorrhization (5 pots of G. clarum and 5 pots of G. etunicatum); the control was also composed by 5 pots without mycorrhization. In the rosemary, G. clarum was significantely more efficient than G. etunicatum in the variables PH, RFW and SR; although G. clarum 4 presented RMP smaller than G. etunicatum. In relation to the control, G. clarum was significably better to the plants in all the variables, although G. etunicatum do not differed statistically for the control plants in PH and PDW. For basil in all the analised variables G. clarum differed statistically from G. etunicatum and was similar to the control treatment in all the variables. / Doutor

The research work developed in this thesis is related to preparing a thin film of NiTi shapememory alloy used to integrate into microsystems. The goal is to improve the properties oftheir counterparts of microcrystalline structure (conventional target).Physical and chemical techniques of characterization (XRD, TEM and SEM) have allowed onthe one hand, to follow the mechanism of intermetallic NiTi formation as a function ofmilling time and on the other hand, to determine the microstructural parameters : crystallitesize, the microstrain and dislocation density of the pure elements and the B2-NiTi phase. These parameters reveal the character of the disordered nanocrystalline of the milled powders.Furthermore, we fabricated a target of B2-NiTi nanocrystalline structure by an alternativemethod (mechanical alloying and cold spray). We also showed that it is possible to deposit the nanocrystalline NiTi intermetallic thin film. This film with a thickness of about 447 nm was deposited by magnetron sputtering techniquefrom the NiTi target.
