Analýza správania sa neskúsených vyjednávačov v priebehu vyjednávania / Behavior analysis of unskilled negotiators during negotiation

Szabó, Tomáš January 2013 (has links)
This thesis attempts to map out the negotiation strategies used by unskilled negotiators and among these, to identify those strategies which prevent such negotiators from achieving the most effective outcome. In highlighting such incorrect negotiating strategies, the thesis aims to steer academics away from using such strategies as part of their future teaching material on negotiation strategies. The theoretical aspect of this work describes the theory behind negotiating strategies and maps the features, styles and negotiation procedures which are used during negotiation. The practical part of the thesis interprets results gained from the research which was carried out. This research, which was conducted in the winter semester of the 2013/2014 academic year, involved the staging of bargaining games that were held over five separate sessions as part of the subject "Introductory training of social and management skills".

The Swedish Armed Forces - desired only when needed? : A study of public anchoring and trust in the armed forces.

Schöld, Christian, Bäck, Susanne January 2020 (has links)
Introduction: The Swedish Armed Forces has undergone major changes and reorganizations in recent decades due to changed threats. It is important to have the public ́s trust in a comprehensive change and development effort. Have the military defense and the politicians succeeded in entrenching this reorganization and has the aim and the intended use of the Swedish Armed Forces been effectively communicated? Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate what factors and events may have affected the Swedish population's confidence changes in the Armed Forces, since the end of the cold war until the present. Method: The study has been implemented as a literature study with an analysis made in two steps. The first step has taken off in a previous essay, which has been deepened and supplemented. The first part has a deductive approach to obtain general factors for public trust. The second step of the analysis has an abductive approach, to examine the possible connection between critical events in the outside world and changes in public trust. Result: The results of the study indicates several factors affecting people's trust in the Armed Forces and consists of public anchoring, conscription, education and communication as well as internal factors. During the defined and examined years 1994, 2008 and 2019, major changes in trust occurred for the Armed Forces. Some common elements are identified and show relationship. Conclusion: There are many arguments pointing at connections between changes in trust and occurrences that include the financial situation, conscription, communication, and perceived threats. Through coherent and long-term defense policy as well as an advanced communication from the Armed Forces and the policy to the rest of society, trust and through that the public anchoring most likely will be strengthened and stabilized.

Context-aware anchoring, semantic mapping and active perception for mobile robots

Günther, Martin 30 November 2021 (has links)
An autonomous robot that acts in a goal-directed fashion requires a world model of the elements that are relevant to the robot's task. In real-world, dynamic environments, the world model has to be created and continually updated from uncertain sensor data. The symbols used in plan-based robot control have to be anchored to detected objects. Furthermore, robot perception is not only a bottom-up and passive process: Knowledge about the composition of compound objects can be used to recognize larger-scale structures from their parts. Knowledge about the spatial context of an object and about common relations to other objects can be exploited to improve the quality of the world model and can inform an active search for objects that are missing from the world model. This thesis makes several contributions to address these challenges: First, a model-based semantic mapping system is presented that recognizes larger-scale structures like furniture based on semantic descriptions in an ontology. Second, a context-aware anchoring process is presented that creates and maintains the links between object symbols and the sensor data corresponding to those objects while exploiting the geometric context of objects. Third, an active perception system is presented that actively searches for a required object while being guided by the robot's knowledge about the environment.
