Orientador: Sérgio Rangel Fernandes Figueira / Resumo: Objetivo: O objetivo geral deste trabalho é a caracterização do perfil dos produtores de abacaxi no município de Frutal-MG. Os objetivos específicos são: (i) estabelecer o perfil socioeconômico do produtor de abacaxi de Frutal-MG; (ii) identificar e quantificar os aspectos relacionados as características do sistema de produção de abacaxi no município, tais como: área plantada, rendimento da colheita, tecnologia e mão de obra utilizada em cada etapa da produção; (iii) investigar o comportamento dos agricultores em relação à gestão financeira, englobando a receita gerada com a produção e os financiamentos adquiridos e (iv) identificar as etapas que demandam maior e menor investimentos. Metodologia/Procedimentos de Pesquisa: Para o desenvolvimento deste estudo inicialmente foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza exploratória e vasta coleta e análise de informações relevantes dentro do tema abacaxicultura, cultura do abacaxizeiro e agricultura familiar, com leituras de artigos científicos sem restrição de prazo de publicação, além de buscas em sites específicos como Google Acadêmico (https://scholar.google.com.br/), SCIELO e o P@rthenon da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias da Universidade Estadual Paulista (FCAV/UNESP) (http://www.parthenon.biblioteca.unesp.br), IBGE e FAO que foram incluídos na revisão. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Purposes: The general purpose of this study is to characterize the profile of pineapple growers in the municipality of Frutal-MG. The specific goals are: (i) to establish the socioeconomic profile of Frutal's pineapple producers; (ii) identify and quantify aspects related to the characteristics of the pineapple production system in the municipality, such as: planted area, crop yield, technology and labor used at each stage of production; (iii) investigate the behavior of farmers in relation to financial management, encompassing the revenue generated from the production and the financing acquired and (iv) identify the stages that require the largest and smallest investments. Neste contexto, a fruticultura aparece como proposta para a região Sudeste Paraense, a qual apresenta condições edafoclimáticas favoráveis ao cultivo de abacaxi, mão de obra disponível e baixo custo de produção. Por ser uma região com imensa área destinada a assentamentos, estando estes ainda em fase inicial de estruturação, com baixo nível de renda para os colonos e condições ainda precárias de desenvolvimento, é importante e urgente para todo o sudeste paraense que sejam analisadas alternativas de investimento e direcionamento de políticas públicas, visando a estruturação da cadeia produtiva do abacaxi e, consequentemente, promovendo o desenvolvimento local. Este trabalho, atendendo a necessidades imediatas dos produtores e gestores do município de Conceição do Araguaia, mostra a abacaxicultura como uma importante alternativa para a agricultura familiar, capaz de trazer benefícios às comunidades de pequenos produtores. Tem como objetivo avaliar a atuação das políticas públicas sobre a atividade abacaxícola, demostrando as funções previstas para cada entidade pública envolvida nesta atividade e sua real atuação. Avaliando dados bibliográficos e informações obtidas a campo através de questionários, entrevistas e observações, concluiu-se que em lavouras do assentamento Lote-8 do PA Joncon é vantajoso explorar o abacaxi, aproveitando a estrutura familiar na geração de emprego e renda, por não necessitar de grandes áreas de cultivo nem de grandes investimentos em tecnologia. A atuação das políticas públicas apresenta falhas que poderão ser observadas ao longo do trabalho, o que tem dificultado e retardado enormemente o desenvolvimento local. Desafiando as adversidades, os pequenos produtores persistem na atividade e elevam a produção de cada safra, colocando o município em segundo lugar estadual na produção de abacaxi. / Pineapple is a tropical native plant of the Amazon region. Hence, the southeast region of Pará is highly benefited by horticulture as it features favorable clime and soil conditions for pineapple cultivation, plenty of labour and low production costs. As it is a region with an immense area for settlements, which has still been in its early stages of structuring with low levels of income to the settlers and still precarious development conditions, it is important and urgent for the entire southeastern Pará that alternatives of investments and direction of public policies aimed at structuring the chain production of pineapple are considered and hence promote local development. This piece of work, meeting the immediate needs of the producers and managers, shows the pineapple culture as an important alternative for family farming, benefiting a great deal communities of small farmers in the southeastern Pará. It aims at evaluating the performance of public policies on pineapple production, showing the roles assigned to each public entity involved in this activity and their actual performance. Looking into bibliographic data and information through on site questionnaires, interviews and observations, it has been concluded that it is advantageous to exploit pineapple in the southeast settlement areas of Para, taking advantage of the familiar structure generating both employment and income, since it does not require large areas of cultivation or huge technology investments. The role of public policy flaws on several points listed throughout the work, which has made it difficult and hindered local development. Defying the odds, small producers keep on struggling and increasing the production of each crop, putting the city in the second place in the national production of pineapple.
