Vysokorychlostní akviziční systém / High speed acquisition system

Svoboda, Tomáš January 2018 (has links)
This master's thesis is focused on the design of a highspeed aquizition system which is based on FPGA and a highspeed AD converter with modern JESD204B interface. Considering the requirements, such as high samplig rate, the current range of available devices is limited. Therefore the market overview of the modern IC and modules was made. The resulting design is based on available modules, so the rached sampling rate is up to 5 GSa/s with 12bits resolution. Data from measurement are send to PC via Ethernet which uses lwIp stack and TEMAC core on Microblaze proccessor.

Examining Consumers' Perception and Attitude towards Different Product Settings Presented within Advertisements

Valenzuela, Christine January 2020 (has links)
Today, it has become increasingly challenging for firms to communicate with their target audiences, due to the amount of media noise present in the contemporary market. In this study, the author examines how consumers perceive different product settings that are presented within advertisements, and how this affects their attitude toward the ad, with hopes that it will lead to new insights on how the visual element of product setting can be enhanced to create messages that better connect and resonate with consumers in today’s overcrowded market. Using previous literature on Sensory Marketing, Advertising Perception, and Advertising Attitude as basis, a matrix that shows different combinations of product setting was generated, which allowed the author to examine how consumers perceive different typesof product settings. The findings suggest that consumers perceive product settings that aid mental imagery and ads with balanced complexity very positively in their evaluation of advertisements. Ad information, pleasure, and its ability to produce a mental imagery were all found to be keys in garnering positive attitude, and combining these three elements together in one ad has been shown to be the most effective in gathering the highest positive attitude towards the ad. The essay ends by discussing the theoretical and practical implications of these findings, and recommendations for future research.

Acceptable Ads guidelines, its effect on user experience and ad-noticeability

Weidenmark, Joel January 2020 (has links)
The Acceptable Ads Standard is a set of guidelines developed by the biggest ad-blocker company AdBlock Plus as an attempt to alleviate the largest need for ad-blocking programs; ads being annoying, irrelevant, and too intrusive. The guidelines inflict rules regarding how ads can be presented in order to be acceptable, thereby not disturbing the consumer. If a website follows these guidelines, their ads will not get blocked. The terms ad-avoidance and ad-irritation has been established by Cho et al. and Baek et al. [4]. The term ad-noticeability was added to these in order to express the behavior of seeing an ad, but not necessarily understanding what it’s trying to mediate. This study aims to examine the Acceptable Ads guidelines’ effect on user experience and ad-noticeability through a quantitative and qualitative study. The two studies were conducted with the help of two specially made test suites in the form of two websites, one with acceptable and one with non-acceptable ads. All participants went through the same set of tasks on the websites. In the quantitative study, data regarding what ads the participants’ had seen and what their experiences’ had been like was collected. Through the qualitative study, it was possible to get more elaborate answers to why certain ads were seen or missed and to get more in-depth answers regarding the participants’ experiences. Through the study, it was found that there is a difference in ad-noticeability and the user experience of ads between websites that contain either acceptable or non-acceptable ads. The results suggest that the Acceptable Ads guidelines affect user experience positively, i.e. leading to less ad-irritation or annoyance, but also affect ad-noticeability negatively. It was also found that cognitive ad-avoidance was greatly affected by task-oriented focus, both in cases with and without ads following acceptable / The Acceptable Ads Standard är en samling med riktlinjer utvecklade av det största företaget inom ad-blockers, AdBlock Plus.

Using Peer to Peer Over Wireless Ad Hoc Networks as an Emergency Command and Control System

Hussain, Khadim, Saleem, Choudhry Humayun January 2009 (has links)
<p>Peer-to-Peer networking technology is evolving rapidly. P2P networks overcome the limitations of client/server networks where each computer shares resources of other computer. There are different types of P2P networks depending upon their functionalities. Peer to peer networks provide long list of features like: selection of nearby peers, redundant storage, effi-cient search/location of data items, data performance or guarantees etc. It is important to see that how P2P can work with wireless ad hoc networks and why it is important. What are im-portant issues which come across by using P2P and wireless ad hoc networks together. How TCP/IP stack can be affected. How the whole system looks like in which P2P techniques are used with wireless ad hoc routing protocols to perform different tasks and services.</p>

Karlsson, Anna January 2008 (has links)

Secure and efficient wireless ad hoc networking

Khabbazian, Majid 11 1900 (has links)
Wireless ad hoc networks have been emerged to support applications, in which it is required/desired to have wireless ommunications among a variety of devices without relying on any infrastructure or central managements. In ad hoc networks, wireless devices, simply called nodes, have limited transmission range. Therefore, each node can directly communicate with only those within its transmission range and requires other nodes to act as routers in order to communicate with out-of-range estinations. One of the fundamental operations in ad hoc networks is broadcasting, where a node sends a message to all other nodes in the network. This can be achieved through flooding, in which every node transmits the first copy of the received message. However, flooding can impose a large number of redundant transmissions, which can result in significant waste of constrained resources such as bandwidth and battery power. One of the contributions of this work is to propose efficient broadcast algorithms which can significantly reduce the number of redundant transmissions. We also consider some of the security issues of ad hoc networks. In particular, we carefully analyze the effect of the wormhole attack, which is one of the most severe threats against ad hoc networks. We also propose a countermeasure, which is an improvement over the existing timing-based solutions against the wormhole attack. Finally, in the last chapter, we propose novel point compression techniques which can be used in Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). ECC can provide the same level of security as other public key cryptosystems (such as RSA) with substantially smaller key sizes. Smaller keys can result in smaller system parameters, bandwidth savings, faster implementations and lower power consumption. These advantages make ECC interesting for ad hoc networks with restricted devices.
