Simulační modelování vřeten obráběcích strojů / Simulation modeling of machine tool spindles

Burian, Radek January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this work was to propose an analytical spindle lathe and perform simulations to verify that the spindle is designed correctly. After calculations and modeling of the whole assembly, I began to make the first simulation in ADAMS. I proceeded from simple models over difficult to the final version of the entire assembly. I examined whether they match the values of power, speed, strength and other values with the values obtained analytically. The results of my works are virtual models of spindle, which can simulate various stressful conditions under which we can decide whether the spindle is satisfactory or not.

Geologic Analysis of the Upper Jurassic Cotton Valley Formation in Jefferson County, Mississippi

Brooke, James Michael 13 December 2014 (has links)
Though the Cotton Valley Group is productive in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, little is known about production potential of the Bossier Formation (Lower Cotton Valley Shale) in southwest Mississippi. The Bossier Formation in Jefferson County, Mississippi is an organic-poor, carbonate-rich mudrock with siliciclastic intervals. Examination of cuttings by petrographic and scanning electron microscopy revealed fractures that have been filled by calcite and poreilling pyrite. Porosity exists within and around pyrite framboids, in unfilled fractures, and within peloid grains. Organic matter is rare in Lower Cotton Valley samples suggesting it is not self-sourcing. Total Organic Carbon (TOC) values are low (0.86-1.1% TOC) compared to the productive Haynesville Shale Formation (2.8% TOC). Porosity of the Lower Cotton Valley Shale is low (2.5- 4.2%) compared to productive Haynesville Shale Formations (8-12%). With current technology and gas prices, the Lower Cotton Valley Shale in Jefferson County, Mississippi does not have production potential.

THE WAR OF THE GIANTS: THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 1824 AND THE RESHAPING OF AMERICAN POLITICS

Callahan, David P. January 2017 (has links)
Often mischaracterized as a sedate, muddled, and issueless personality contest, the U.S. presidential election of 1824 actually proved an important transitional contest between the First and Second American Party Systems. The five very active candidates involved in the contest created dynamic organizations, sponsored energetic newspaper networks, staged congressional legislative battles, and spread vicious personal attacks against each other, presaging the tactics of the more-celebrated succeeding 1828 election. Four key developments determined the outcome of the 1824 contest. One, the decline of the opposition Federalists encouraged the Republican Party to fracture into five competing candidacies. Two, Secretary of War John C. Calhoun's vicious political attacks fatally undermined the campaign of frontrunner Treasury Secretary William H. Crawford. Three, political outsider General Andrew Jackson successfully equated the practice of politics with corruption, capturing a plurality of the popular vote by running against Washington politicians. Four, Secretary of State John Quincy Adams' superb insider deal-making ability undergirded his successful effort to win the required House election once no candidate received a majority of electoral votes from the popular election. While adversely affecting the political careers of all the participants except Jackson, the election of 1824 accelerated the ongoing trend toward democratized presidential elections and helped give birth to the Second American Party System. / History

Development of the multibody simulation with Adams

El Dsoki, Tarik 01 July 2015 (has links) (PDF)

Modelling and simulation of Research Concept Vehicle using MBD-FEM approach / MBD-FEM-ansats för modellering och simulering av ”Research Concept Vehicle”

Mallikarjuna Rao, Tarun January 2015 (has links)
This work highlights the design process to build a MBD (Multi-Body Dynamics) model with flexible parts for a RCV (Research Concept Vehicle). Full vehicle dynamic simulations of the RCV model with flexible parts were performed for different load cases and the results were compared with that of a MBD model with rigid body components. In addition, FE modelling of the RCV body parts, selection of attachment nodes, generation and verification of Modal Neutral Files (MNFs) are discussed. RCV is a concept vehicle developed at KTH Royal Institute of technology as a research platform to implement, validate and demonstrate results of various research projects. The vehicle consists of body, suspension and tire subsystems which were designed and developed as individual projects. The body subsystem comprises of rollcage, subframe and a composite baseplate. In this project, a MBD model of the RCV was developed in ADAMS/CAR to measure the forces acting at the interface of these body components and also to consider the suspension forces acting on the individual front and rear subframe parts. Finite element (FE) models were incorporated to consider the flexibility of the body components. The RCV is a vehicle constantly evolving with addition of new components to implement and test various research results. To study the application of this method, two Models of the RCV with design modifications were developed and studied. A model of the RCV without rollcage and a model with a rigid link connecting the body components were built and the results of dynamic simulations were compared with that of the existing RCV design. When flexibility of the baseplate was considered in the models, an overall change in dynamics of the body components was observed. Further, observing the results from models with design modifications, it was evident that this method can be used to study the effect of these modifications on the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle.
