Sistema minimamente invasivo baseado em agentes aplicado em controladores lógicos programáveis

A indústria carece de sistemas produtivos que atendam a diversidade de demanda do mercado, com eficiência e capacidade de adaptação rápida. As novas soluções para estas necessidades remetem ao uso de novas tecnologias de automação. Porém, a maioria dos sistemas integrados de manufatura implantados em indústria possui seu gerenciamento por controladores lógicos programáveis, assim como suas interligações elétricas e lógicas de controle. A tese proposta faz uso de Sistemas Multiagentes em controladores lógicos programáveis, para que estes possam controlar seus sistemas de manufatura, propiciando-lhes os requisitos de diversidade, agilidade e auto-organização no meio produtivo. A comprovação desta tese se dá pelo método desenvolvido para que tal implementação aconteça, bem como pela análise de abrangência deste método, a fim de verificar em quais cenários ele é eficaz. O método proposto analisa o controlador lógico programável e descreve uma rotina de ações a serem seguidas para que ele se insira em Sistemas Multiagentes, valendo-se das funcionalidades que um agente pode oferecer. Sua análise de aplicação ocorreu em três cenários distintos, onde a abordagem por sistemas auto-organizáveis apresentou melhores resultados para atingir os requisitos de diversidade, agilidade e auto-organização, a partir de sistemas multiagentes interagindo com os controladores lógicos programáveis e suas lógicas locais. / The industry needs production systems that attend the diversity of market demand, with efficiency and fast adaptability. The new solutions to these needs refer to the use of new automation technologies. However, most integrated manufacturing systems deployed in industry have its management by programmable logic controllers as well as their electrical interconnections and logics of control. The thesis proposal indicates the use of multi-agent systems on programmable logic controllers, so that they are able to control their manufacturing systems, addressing the requirements of diversity, self-organizing and agility to the productive environment. The proof of this thesis is given by the method developed for such implementation to happen, as well as analysis of the scope of this method in order to verify in what scenarios it is effective. The proposed method analyzes the programmable logic controller and describes a routine of actions to follow so that it may enter into a multi-agent system, using the features that an agent can offer. Its application analysis took place in three different scenarios where the approach by self-organizing systems showed better results for achieving the requirements of diversity, agility and self-organization from multi-agent systems interacting with programmable logic controllers and their local logic.

Amphibious Architecture: Living with a Rising Bay

Over the past century, sea level has risen nearly eight inches along the California coast and climate scientists suggest substantial increases in sea level as a significant impact of climate change over the coming century. This project explores the concept of creating a sustainable living environment for seaside residents in Redwood City as an alternative to permanent construction on land in the event of a substantial rise in sea level. This project will generate a flood-resilient design solution that is capable of rising and falling with the water. In order to ensure the well-being of the inhabitants, I will analyze a number of case studies, notably the Netherland’s water dwellings, New Orleans’s amphibious residences and Sausalito’s floating communities, for the purpose of identifying key themes that will facilitate the construction of a single-family amphibious residence in Redwood City. This project is a response to environmental design challenges raised by ongoing atmospheric events such as the gradual rise in sea level and disastrous events such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005 where extreme flooding due to failed coastal defenses exhibited catastrophic effects on coastal residences, its inhabitants, and the surrounding ecosystem.

UX Design in Practice : How UX practitioners adapt to a young and changing industry

UX is a discipline which is gaining attraction and simultaneously changing. This study takes an exploratory approach into how UX practitioners adapt to this young and changing industry. The implications of this helps us understand their reality as well as potential areas for further research. To do this, data was collected in the form of interviews from working practitioners within the field and interpreted with thematic analysis. The contribution from analyzing the data revealed that UX practitioners are adapting by seeking knowledge from peers and other non-academic sources such as webinars and conferences, and they use this to adapt both to their environment as well as potential future areas. Other findings were the limitations in practice that UX practitioners struggle with on a day-to-day basis, and that these limitations could have a potential impact on why they seek knowledge.

Människans uttryck för kärlek i romantiska relationer

Kärlek är en omfattande del i människans liv, hur vi uttrycker kärlek varierar och enligt Chapman (1992) finns det fem kärleksspråk som människan använder: bekräftande ord, tjänster, fysisk beröring, kvalitetstid samt gåvor. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur män och kvinnor visar kärlek i en romantisk relation samt om det finns ett dominant kärleksspråk och om det skiljer sig mellan män och kvinnor.  Tio semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes varav två var parintervjuer, totalt deltog sju kvinnor och fem män. Intervjuerna tematiserades med hjälp av de fem kärleksspråken och sex teman identifierades: respekt, tillit och frihet, tjänster för att förenkla vardagen, kvalitetstid genom att ha roligt ihop, kommunikation och bekräftande ord, fysisk beröring, gåvor. Resultatet visade att deltagarna uppvisade en blandning av de fem kärleksspråken men även att de uttrycker kärlek på andra sätt som visade sig vara viktiga i relationen. Resultatet visade dessutom att inget dominant kärleksspråk kunde identifieras.

Trata-se de um estudo de alternativas de reforma de residências para deficiente físico em cadeira de rodas, propondo-as como micro-fator de reinserção social, considerado, como macro-fator, o circular na cidade para uma participação efetiva do deficiente físico na vida da comunidade. As barreiras arquitetônicas, entendidas como uma estrutura do meio ambiente edificado que se opõe à independência parcial ou total das pessoas de mobilidade reduzida, são amplamente estudadas, pois subsidiam as reformas. Estas procuram otimizar o binômio espaço habitado/qualidade de vida, através da racionalização e adequação do espaço às exigências dimensionais do usuário deficiente e da cadeira de rodas, seu meio locomotor, bem como possibilitando o acesso a todo ambiente da residência e o uso dos seus equipamentos. Um estudo sumário sobre o alcance do deficiente físico quando em cadeira de rodas, bem como sobre as exigências dimensionais para a circulação desse seu veículo é mostrado na segunda parte da tese, composta, aliás, de três grandes capítulos. Não é um trabalho inédito quanto a temática. Contudo, enquanto resenha bibliográfica e estatística dimensional de espaços e suas instalações, pode servir de ponto de partida e marco referencial para estudos de normatização e definição de padrões condizentes com a escala e realidade brasileira que começa a demandar soluções para a problemática. / The subject study refers to alternatives to be used in homes of physically handicapped people in wheeling chairs, proposed as micro-factors of social insertion, and at the same time as a macro-factor to allow him to circulated in town for an effective participation in the community\'s life. Det lärande mötet : En studie om lärares didaktiska medvetenhet i undervisningssituationer

The authors were curious and asked themselves if teachers are aware of the base of their teaching in various teaching situations. Are teachers at all capable of expressing that in words? One of the reasons that the authors chose the particular issue was because they think teachers have the task to satisfy the needs of all students and therefore they found it interesting to study how various teachers act. The purpose of the study is to observe teachers didactical awareness, and how it can be added to their intentions and actions, as in how they speak about their teaching and how they act in various teaching situations. Methods used in the study were observations and qualitative interviews. The result was divided into the following three themes: to individualize the teaching, to interact with the student and how the teaching is based on reliable experience. The result showed that the teachers base their teaching mostly on the individual student depending on which student the teachers instruct and that they focus on his or her good qualities, needs and qualifications. The teachers also make deliberate choices when they choose material which they adapt to the individual students. However, the teachers do not seem to reflect as much on their choices and actions and that they apparently not do is to reflect over their choice and acts and that the curriculum is not, remarkably enough, used as a base for their pedagogic work. / Författarna var nyfikna på och ställde sig något frågande till om lärare är medvetna om vad de grundar sitt handlande på i olika undervisningssituationer? Kan lärare överhuvudtaget sätta ord på det? En av anledningarna till att författarna valde att fokusera på området var att de anser att lärare har till uppgift att tillgodose alla elevers behov och författarna fann det därför intressant att studera några olika lärares handlande. Syftet med studien är att studera lärares didaktiska medvetenhet och hur den kommer till uttryck i intentioner och handlingar, det vill säga hur de talar om sin undervisning och hur de agerar i skilda undervisningssituationer. Metoder som användes i studien var observationer och kvalitativa intervjuer. Resultatet delades in i de tre temana: att individanpassa undervisningen, att samspela med eleven och att bygga på sin beprövade erfarenhet. Resultatet visade att lärarna grundar sitt handlade främst på individualisering då de utgår från vilken elev de handleder, vad denne har för behov, förutsättningar och starka sidor. Det visade sig också att lärarna gör medvetna val när de väljer ut material som de sedan individanpassar utefter elevernas nivå. Det de däremot inte verkar göra lika medvetet är att reflektera över sina val och handlingar samt att läroplanen, anmärkningsvärt nog, inte ligger till grund för deras pedagogiska arbete.

Brand Adapting Management in Merger and Acquisition : A Case Study of Geely/Volvo's Brand Acquisition

The premise of this thesis is to conduct a research regarding the connection of brand image, brand identity, brand positioning with brand adapting management. The significant purpose of this thesis is for better understanding how a Chinese auto corporation can effectively manage and adapt an acquired foreign brand in Chinese market. In order to reach this purpose, a case study of Geely/Volvo’s acquisition has been carried out which entailed company visit (Volvo Brand Experience Center), interviews with Volvo brand specialists, Volvo dealer and Chinese market expert. The Theoretical Framework describes the general concepts of brand, brand management, company acquisition and three brand adapting concepts of brand image, brand identity and brand positioning. The Empirical Data Collection deals with the Volvo’s brand identity and value proposition, Chinese customers’ perceptions on Volvo brand image and Geely’s brand positioning strategy on Volvo. The Analysis related the theory framework with the empirical results. It discussed and analyzed how Geely can adapt Volvo in Chinese automotive market through dealing with Volvo’s core values, brand image and brand positioning. The Conclusion summarized the Chinese auto corporation needs to concern on three factors for adapting an acquired brand: value proposition of acquired brand, Chinese customers’ perceptions on acquired brand image and brand positioning strategy. Finally our recommendation presents the limitations of this study, suggestions for future research in this field, and managerial implications for the case company.
