The aim of this study was to examine the social workers experience and their thoughts about their work with elderly clients who suffers from an alcohol addiction. More specifically was to find out how the social workers themselves look upon their own competence in the work with this type of clients. We also wanted to find out how their cooperation with other authorities looks like in Malmö Stad. Our research questions were:•What experiences and thoughts do social workers have about their work with elderly people with alcohol addiction?•What are the social workers experiencing when it comes to collaboration with other authorities in their work with elderly clients with alcohol addiction? All six of our informants has volunteered to be a part of our study. The interviews are based on a semi structured model with open questions. The results of our study are that alcohol addiction is a problem that is hard to talk about and just because you are getting older does not mean that the problem is getting smaller. It is a problem that is getting more and more common among the ageing population and we need more research to be able to come up with social efforts that will meet this problem.

Ett liv utan missbruk - och sex? Hållbar behandlingsvård för kvinnorTham, Johanna January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine the concept of sex, sexuality and sexual health and its significance to drug and alcohol addiction treatment for women. More specifically its aim was to find out if social workers and professionals within addiction treatment services ought to support women in creating sustainable sexual relations in the drug free context and if so what the support should consist of. The study was based on recent scientific articles and literature that were analysed through thematic content analysis. The themes that were identified and that were recurring throughout the material were how social structures impact addiction treatment for women as well as their sexual health and how professionals within addiction treatment need to incorporate this knowledge in their practice to support patients to a sustainable drug-free life. The analysis was based on sexual script theory to further the knowledge of what meaning sexuality and relationships have for addiction recovery. The sexual script theory also illustrates what impact narratives have on patients in treatment that are moving between a context with substance abuse and a drug free context. The conclusions made were that sex, sexuality and sexual health are significant matters for addiction treatment since addressing these topics can prevent relapse in patients. Professionals can support women in creating a sustainable relation to sex, sexuality and sexual health by incorporating positive perspectives on sex through conversations in treatment programs. Discussions that raise awareness of how sex and addiction is influenced by social structures, educative conversations on the connection between body, desire and pleasure as well as supporting patients in recognizing which sexual situations are a risk for relapse can make addiction treatment more effective.

Styles d'attachement, psychotraumatismes et addiction aux drogues : contribution à l'analyse des facteurs déterminants la consommation de drogues et à l'étude des processus de résilience au Togo / Attachment styles, psychotrauma and drug addiction : contribution to the analysis of determinants of drug use and the study of resilience processes in TogoKpelly, Dzodzo Eli Ekploam 03 October 2018 (has links)
Faced with the deplorable situation induced in our societies, the literature explains the addiction to drugs by a context of research of hedonic, social and therapeutic satisfactions or by personal, family and / or environmental factors. However, these interpretations can be further clarified and expanded. Thus, drug use can also come from an environment punctuated by the insecurity of parental attachment known at a young age or by many former psychic traumas not assimilated. They are also perceived as an unsuccessful attempt at resilience or pseudo-resilience to avoid the worst. From a mixed methodology, we compared 30 drug addict subjects to 30 of their non-addicted siblings. They were subjected to a clinical interview, the Relationship Scales Questionnaire (Griffin and Bartholomew, 1994), the scales of detection of tobacco addictions (Fagerström Test, 1978/1991), alcohol (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, Saunders et al., 1993), and other drugs (Drug Abuse Screening Test, Skinner, 1982), Psycho-Traumatic Evaluation of Identity (Masson et al., 2016) and the Resilience Scale for Adults (Hjemdal et al. al., 2011).The results obtained from a quantitative and qualitative analysis shed light on the relationships between attachment styles, psychotraumatisms, drug addiction and resilience, without forgetting that the addictive problem is of multifactorial origin. other dimensions of explanation
