A Study of a Volvo CE Articulated Hauler’s Hydraulic Tank : Validation of a Finite-Element Model Taking the Fluid-Structure Interaction into AccountJanousek, Miroslav, Burnotte, Thibault January 2018 (has links)
This scientific work is dedicated to the study of the impact of vibrations on the Volvo A60 articulated hauler’s hydraulic tank taking fluid-structure interaction into account. In this work, a theoretical background is presented in order to give the reader a basic awareness of the given problem together with a detailed description of the methods used during the examination of the above mentioned hydraulic tank. To perform an analysis of the finite-element model, ANSYS software was used while ANSA and META were used as the pre- and post-processor. Matlab was used in order to compare the obtained data. As a result of the analysis, this work provides a simplified and yet accurate model and a description of some of the minor problems present in the original Volvo CE model. In order to solve those issues, solutions are proposed.

Apresenta como foi desenvolvida a ferramenta, quais são suas interfaces com o operador e qual o esquema de operação da mesma. Ao final relata sobre o ganho na economia de tempo ao se utilizar o programa e analisa os resultados, de tensão e deslocamento, obtidos com a simulação de um modelo gerado / This dissertation aims to develop a parametric tool in ANSYS software programming language (APDL language) to calculate the structure of a gantry crane of central beams and reduce the time spent in hours of calculation. This paper first presents the main types of equipment as well as the own gantry cranes, and for this latter describes what are their types and what components make up its structure. Describes about the parameterization in APDL language, about the main solicitations that should be taken into consideration during the dimensioning of the structure, according to the specifications of the standard NBR8400. Present show it was developed the tool, what are their interfaces with the operator and how it works. At the end relates about gaining in saving time when using the program and analyzes the results, of tension and displacement, obtained with the simulation of a generated model

connecting a composite beam to a concrete filled steel tube column using a through plate. The
software Ansys® and finite elements methods were used in the numerical analyses and the model
was validated by comparison with experimental results. The main guidelines adopted in the
choice of finite elements, material properties and constitutive relationships, boundary
conditions and restrains and other aspects of numerical modeling are presented and discussed
in this work. The validated numerical model was then used in parametric analysis in which was
analyzed the influence of geometric and physical parameters as reinforcement ratio of slab,
height of I-steel beam, web thickness of I-steel beam, diameter of the bolts, slab thickness,
height of the through plate, concrete compressive strength and steel yield strength. The
parameters analyzed revealed direct influence on behavior, especially in terms of moment an
initial stiffness. Comparative analysis between all parameters allowed comments on the most
influential variables and those that present similar behaviors. / Apresenta-se neste trabalho o desenvolvimento de um modelo numérico de ligação mista vigapilar preenchido com chapa passante. Para tanto, utilizou-se o método dos elementos finitos via pacote computacional Ansys®. O modelo numérico foi então validado com base em resultados encontrados na literatura. No presente estudo são apresentadas as principais diretrizes adotadas na escolha dos elementos finitos, propriedades dos materiais e relações constitutivas, condições de contorno e vinculações, carregamentos e outros aspectos referentes à modelagem numérica. O modelo numérico validado foi então utilizado na realização de análises paramétricas nas
quais foi analisada a influência de parâmetros geométricos e físicos, como taxa de armadura da
laje, altura dos perfis de aço da viga mista, espessura da alma do perfil da viga mista, diâmetro dos parafusos, altura da laje, altura da chapa passante, resistência do concreto e resistência ao escoamento do aço. Os parâmetros analisados revelaram influência direta no comportamento da ligação, principalmente em termos de momento resistente e rigidez inicial. Análises comparativas entre todos os parâmetros permitiram observações sobre as variáveis mais influentes e aquelas que apresentam comportamentos semelhantes.

The Bogie frame is an important and integral member of bogie. In Indian Railways, LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches are used as passenger coaches. They are equipped with FIAT bogie frames. Inorder to overcome the limitations of the existing FIAT bogie frame structure, a new bogie frame structure namely New CASNUB Bogie Frame is designed to equip with LHB coach. The New CASNUB Bogie Frame design is validated by conducting Stress analysis using ANSYS Mechanical APDL software. The stresses induced in both the frame structures are compared. Stresses induced in the New CASNUB Bogie frame are lesser than in the FIAT Bogie frame and are within the allowable stress limits of material used. New CASNUB Bogie Frame can be used as an alternative for LHB coaches in Indian Railways.

This master’s thesis verifies physical principle of ultrasound in fluids by numerical model. At first, ultrasound study is ment. In second theoretic part, diferent kind of motor oils are described. Next, equations for numerical simulation are presented. In practical part, numerical model of level sensor is examined in well-knowed fluids (water, air). Results of laboratory measurement on topic of ultrasound velocity in oil dependent on temperature are aplicated on numerical model of sensor and optimalized.

This thesis is based on the series of scholarly article dedicated to the issue of pumping in the differential scanning chamber of an environmental scanning microscope. The thesis is based on Danilatos’s study where the pumping of the differential pumped chamber is solved by means of the Monte Carlo statistical method. The thesis analyzes gas flow in the experimental chamber using the Pipot tube. The analyses will be used for the design of the experimental chamber which will serve for the experimental evaluation of the flow results in the chamber using the continuum mechanics.

The thesis is focused on the medium dynamics simulation in the environmental scanning electron microscope. Specifically, it researches (examines) the conical aperture location effect in the differential pumped chamber and the width of the pumping channel in this chamber. The theoretical part deals with the environmental scanning microscope generally and other tools used in this thesis, e.g. ANSYS Fluen software, fluid turbulence, medium free path of molecules and electrons scattering. In the practical part, the work is focused on data processing from the ANSYS Fluent program and on their evaluation.
