Esta dissertação pretende apresentar uma leitura da poética de Cacaso, partindo de uma comparação entre o modernismo, frequentemente visto como forte influência para a poesia dos anos 70, e os textos do poeta mineiro e chegando ao livro Beijo na boca de 1975, o qual consideramos ser a obra mais madura de Antônio Carlos de Brito. Divido em três partes, o trabalho pretende se concentrar no uso que Cacaso faz de diversas situações enunciativas, ressignificando os enunciados. Na primeira parte, a questão da liberdade é trabalhada, a qual é buscada nos poetas modernistas, principalmente Mário de Andrade e Oswald de Andrade; na segunda parte o foco é nas diferenças de abordagem, quanto ao tema da liberdade e do uso de técnicas poéticas consagradas pelos modernistas, causadas pelas diferentes questões tratadas no campo literário; a terceira e última parte foca-se na especifidade do texto cacasiano, não apenas em relação aos modernistas, mas em relação aos outros poetas dos anos 70. / This dissertations intends to present a view of Cacasos poetics, beginning at a comparison between the brazilian modernism from 20s, usually seen as a very strong influence for the poetry of the 70s, and Cacasos texts. Divided in three parts, this work focus in finding how Cacaso deals with a variety of enunciations, resignifying the enunciates, arriving at the 1975 book, Beijo na boca. In the first part, the liberty, which comes from the modernista poets, mostly Mário de Andrade and Oswald de Andrade, is the starting point; in the second part, the focus is on why there are differences on the approach and use of liberty and other poetic tecniques between the modernists and the poets of the 70s, comparing only the literary fields; the third and last part centers on the especifities of Cacasos poetics not only concerning the relation with the modernists, but also the relation with other poets from the 70s.

O intuito deste trabalho é compreender como se fundamenta a poesia de Antônio Carlos de Brito, Cacaso, cuja obra se situa basicamente entre 1967 e 82, portanto, em meio ao contexto do regime militar. Em tais casos continua-se a analisar a linguagem poética, o modo de criar o poema e, além disso, a aparente gratuidade de seus versos. Finalmente, a reflexão trata dos poemas que, focando o contexto sócio-político dos anos 1970, abordam o tema da repressão e algumas incoerências da modernização conservadora no Brasil. / The aim of this dissertation is to understand the foundations of the poetry of Antônio Carlos de Brito. His work is situated mainly between 1967 and 1982, in the context of the military regime. The analysis is divided in four sections. First, we try to delineate the artistic behavior of the poet. The following section focuses on the books A palavra cerzida (1967) and Grupo escolar (1974). The gap between them is symptomatic of the differences that move one away from the other, although it does not mean that they do not maintain some connections. After analyzing the beginning of his work and examining, among other elements, the making of poetry, we move to the study of Beijo na boca (1975), Segunda classe (1975) and Na corda bamba (1978). We continue on the analysis of the poetic language, his way of creating a poem and, besides those, the apparent gratuity of his verses in these books. Lastly, the debate concentrates on the poems which, focusing on the social and political context of the 70s, approach the theme of repression and some inconsistencies in the conservative modernization of Brazil.

He was one of the most important authors and characters of the marginal generation in the seventies. Based on the idea of cultural resistance proposed by some authors concerning the action of some part of the Brazillian intellectuality in the period of militar dictatorship, this thesis investigates the role performed by Cacaso in the intellectual environment, and the way his poetic production is considered not only as a reflection, but also as a weapon of those resistance articulations. According to Michel de Certau’s ideas of tactics and resistances, this thesis analyzes the tactics elements assumed by Cacaso in the legitimation course of his generation as well as the elements presented in his poetry and the way they were revealing of those resistance tactics. / Esse trabalho tem como objeto de pesquisa o percurso artístico e intelectual do poeta, compositor, professor universitário e crítico Antônio Carlos de Brito, o Cacaso, um dos mais importantes autores e personagens daquela que se convencionou chamar de geração marginal, surgida na década de 70. A partir de uma idéia de resistência da cultura, proposta por vários autores a respeito da ação de determinada parcela da intelectualidade brasileira nos anos da ditadura militar, resolveu-se investigar o papel desempenhado por Cacaso no campo intelectual da época e, de que forma, sua produção poética foi também reflexo e armamento dessas articulações de resistência. Fazendo uso das idéias de táticas e resistências retiradas dos estudos de Michel de Certeau, resolveu-se pesquisar os elementos táticos assumidos por Cacaso no percurso de legitimação de sua geração, assim como tentou-se perceber de que forma e que elementos presentes na sua poesia são reveladores dessas táticas de resistência.
