I den här uppsatsen har jag valt att undersöka pressbilden av Nazitysklands erövringar av under 1938. Först det så kallade Anschluss i Österrike och sen ockupationen av delar av dåvarande Tjeckoslovakien, det så kallade Sudetenlandet. Som forskningsmaterial har jag valt att undersöka två tidningar, Social-Demokraten och Stockholms-Tidningen. Syftet har varit att försöka förstå den vilken bild en läsare fick av de här händelserna när de föregav sig samt undersöka hur tidningarna förhöll sig till sina källor och hur de beskrev frågorna kring folk och minoriteter som de här kriserna handlade om.Som utgångspunkt för min undersökning har jag anlagt ett moraliskt perspektiv som det målats upp av Klas Åmark i hans bok Att bo granne med ondskan. Jag har utfört en kvalitativ hermeneutisk studie av 135 antal artiklar jämt fördelade mellan de två tidningarna där jag dels jämfört tidningarna med varandra men även jämfört det som skrivs med vad som faktiskt skedde rent historiskt.Jag har kommit fram till att tidningarna skiljer sig markant åt i sin rapportering, Social-Demokraten presenterar en mycket negativ bild av det som sker och ger klart Nazityskland skulden för det som sker medan den bild av händelserna som Stockholms-Tidningen framför är mycket mer ”neutral” och bitvis pro-tysk.Båda tidningarna rapporterar om minoritetsfrågan, både den judiska och den sudettyska och intar olika attityder mot dessa men upphör sedan att vidare beskriva dessa minoriteters öden allt eftersom kriserna går mot sitt slut.

The figure of the Wandering Jew in British Gothic literature has been generally regarded as a static and romantic Everyman who signifies religious punishment, remorse, and alienation. In that it fails to consider the fact that the legend of the Wandering Jew signalled a noteworthy historical shift from theological to racial anti-Semitism, this reading has overlooked the significance of this figure's specific ethno-religious aspect and its relation to the figure of the vampire. It has hindered, consequently, the recognition of the Wandering Jew's relevance to the "Jewish Question," a vital issue in the construction of British national identity. In this dissertation, I chronicle the "spectropoetics" of Gothic literature---how the spectres, of Jewish difference and Jewish assimilation haunt the British Gothic novel. I trace this "spectropoetics" through medieval anti-Semitism, and consider its significance in addressing anxieties about the Crypto-Jew and the Cabala's role in secret societies during two major historic events concurrent with the period of classic Gothic literature---the Spanish Inquisition, a narrative element featured in many Gothic works, and the French Revolution, a cataclysmic event to which many Gothic works responded. In the light of this complex of concerns, I examine the role of the Wandering Jew in five Gothic works---Matthew G. Lewis's The Monk (1795), William Godwin's St. Leon (1799), Charles Robert Maturin's Melmoth the Wanderer (1820), Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's "Carmilla" (1872), and Brain Stoker's Dracula (1897). In my conclusion, I delineate the vampiric Wandering Jew's "eternal" role in addressing nationalist concerns by examining his symbolic preeminence in Nazi Germany.

Denna uppsats Judehatet i Sverige - en undersökning om hur antisemitism kommer till uttryck i Malmö handlar om hur antisemitismen har utvecklats och fått ett starkt fotfäste i den svenska staden Malmö. Genom en teoretisk provtagning har jag valt antale intervjuade personer utifrån deras möjlighet att bidra med relevant kunskap. Jag har även använt mig utav en kvalitativ intervjumetod med tre informanter från den judiska församlingen i Malmö och jag har haft för avsikt att undersöka hur antisemitismen har utvecklats i Malmö och hur detta upplevs av judar. Genom olika artiklar och annan relevant litteratur har jag försökt utvidga det judiska perspektivet om hur stämningen i Malmö upplevs. Analysen belyser hur judar i Malmö upplever att antisemitismen kommer till uttryck och hur judefientligheten ökat i staden samt hur den pågående Israel-Palestinakonflikten påverkar de fientliga stämningarna i staden. Analysen lyfter även fram vilka eventuella orsaker som ligger bakom denna utveckling och på vilket sätt mina informanter tror att man kan arbeta bort antisemitismen i staden. / This thesis "Jew-hatred in Sweden - a study on how anti-Semitism is manifested in Malmö" is about how anti-Semitism has been developed and gained a strong foothold in the Swedish city of Malmö. Through a theoretical sampling I selected the number of interviewed persons based on their ability to contribute with relevant knowledge. I have also used a qualitative interview method with three informants from the Jewish community in Malmö and my intention has been to explore how Anti-Semitism has evolved in Malmö and how it affects Jews. Through various articles and other relevant literature I have tried to expand the Jewish perspective on how the mood in Malmö is experienced by them. The analysis highlights how the Jews in Malmö feel that anti-Semitism is expressed and how hostility against Jews has increased and hos the Israeli-Palestinian conflict affects the hostile atmosphere in the city. The analysis also highlights possible reasons behind this development and the way in which my informants believe that they can work against anti-Semitism in the city.

This dissertation investigates the broad area of social hate discourse. It interrogates the intersections between sexuality and race, and in particular, the intersections between the practices of antisemitism and heterosexism in New South Wales. Using a specifically designed database (Tracking Violence), 1227 complaint files from the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board, the Lesbian and Gay Anti-Violence Project and the Executive Council of Australian Jewry lodged between 1995 and 1999 were analysed for the features common to antisemitic and heterosexist maledictive hate. Of particular interest to this dissertation is the text and context of malediction, and whether the regulation of maledictive hate is an appropriate strategy in the elimination and prevention of hate violence.
