Sebeřízení ředitele ZUŠ / Selfmanagement of headmaster of art school

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of school manager's self-management in the art schools area. Thesis aim was to ascertain what the art schools' headmasters in Pilsen and South Bohemia region reckon as part of self management, what influences their self management and how is this influence displayed in their professional and personal lives. Partial aim of this work was to find out if the headmasters educate themselves in the self management area and if yes in what way. In the theoretical part the work comes out of the human resource management and working performance area. It deals with the headmasters' competences and roles, self management, time management, delegation, burnout syndrome, stress techniques and life balance. It elaborately deals with the emotional intelligence and headmaster's career stages in connection with the self management area is influenced by them. The practise brings research results, which was realized by research and additional interviews. The research found out very interesting discoveries from the pedagogical-art schooling, from the working and personal lives of crucial persons in this educational sphere - art schools headmasters. O Colégio das Artes constituiu-se ao longo dos anos em um poderoso monumento da história portuguesa. Concebido originalmente para ser uma escola regida pelos preceitos do Humanismo e, desse ponto de vista seruma escola diferenciada em relação aos demais colégios monásticos que então vigoravam em Portugal, acabou por não conseguir estabelecer-se duradouramente em sua proposta primeira. Dono de uma trajetória tumultuada, marcada pela morte repentina de seu primeiro diretor, por inúmeros conflitos entre professores e pela instauração de processos inquisitoriais a trêsde seus professores mais conceituados, o Colégio das Artes, em uma decisão jamais oficializada por D.João III, acabou porser transferido em 1555 à Companhia de Jesus. / The Art School was built along the years in a powerful monument of Portuguese History. Originally conceived to be a school ruled by the humanist principles and, from that point of view, to be a different school compared to the other monastic centres which existed in Portugal, it ended up not lasting long in its first proposal. Being the owner of a troubled trajectory, marked by the sudden death of its first principal, by countless conflicts among teachers and by the start of inquisitional processes towards three of its most important teachers, the Art School, in a never oficialized decision by D. Joao III, was transferred to Jesuss company in 1555. In fact, after ten years of remain of Inacians, the original space of the Art School has its functionality extinct being handed down to the inquisition, which would implement changes according to the new end which would be attributed to it. Actually, nowadays the space which was once used as a school is an antiquate area in Coimbra, a bother to the public power. Certainly for Portuguese historiography, its unlucky fate signs the sadness which characterizes Joanino´s Kingdom. In fact, for her, it was D. João III the greatest responsible for the tragic fate that set upon the school. Portraited in the past as a fanatic and nowadays as a hesitating man, it was this misunderstandable king´s personality that ended up sealing the destiny of his own work. This dissertation seeks an explanation for the history of the Art School, especially, the matter of its transference to the Jesuits which escaped from the King´s personality

Policy and practice : design education in England from 1837-1992, with particular reference to furniture courses at Birmingham, Leicester and the Royal College of Art

This thesis is an examination of policy-making and practice in design education in England from 1837-1992. It takes a longue durée approach to the history of the development of design education to provide a new narrative which shows a pattern of recurring debates concerning the purpose of design education and how it should be taught. Using the curricula of furniture design courses at three art schools to illustrate the way policy was put into practice, this thesis argues that historical context is key to understanding why debates regarding the way designers should be trained for industry have recurred since 1837. Based on a wide variety of primary source material the thesis contributes to historiography by extending the scope of previous histories of art and design education, and also, for the first time, focuses solely on the development of design education, whilst acknowledging its place in the wider development of art and design education. Following the introduction, chapter two of this thesis examines the events which led to the 1835-6 Select Committee and argues that many of the issues raised during the Committee influenced the teaching of design education through the remainder of the nineteenth century; this is further demonstrated through chapter three. Charting the development of design education into the twentieth century through chapters four, five and six, this thesis shows that changing historical contexts, such as the development of industrial methods or wider changes in higher education, have also had an impact on design education. In the light of changing historical contexts, policy makers for design education have continually questioned what design students should be taught and how they should be taught, which accounts, in part, for the recurring nature of debates in design education.

This study examines the function of art education at the level of selected European and Czech national documents, at the level of Prague 1 galleries and museums that offer education programmes for school groups at the level of the individual education employees of museums, galleries and of primary graphic and plastic art school in Prague 1. The content of the thesis is based on data collected and analyzed using grounded theory of the qualitative research. The research data pass through the entire text and show the links between themselves and connections with theoretical texts. The text of the thesis is divided into two parts. The first one is focused on theoretical and research findings. Here are the resources of the whole work contained, statements about art and education from the perspective of different discourses, creation of gallery and museum education, creation of gallery and museum education, the current trends in the gallery and museum education, position of gallery and museum educators, the competency of educators, the methodology, research results and evaluation of research probe. Estar en contacto con las artes nos trae múltiples beneficios, por lo que el CAV tiene como objetivo principal, la difusión del arte y de la cultura, donde la expresión creativa responde a una finalidad y a un uso. Actualmente los centros de exposición y de educación de arte dentro de Lima Metropolitana, se encuentran centralizados principalmente en los distritos de Cercado de Lima, Miraflores y Barranco, por lo que el proyecto propone ser un punto de encuentro y de integración de la ciudad en Lima Norte, espacio inexistente a pesar del exponencial crecimiento demográfico. El centro busca concebir espacios adecuados, en donde los artistas puedan desarrollar y producir sus creaciones, así como generar una interacción entre los usuarios. Propio de la identidad multicultural de la zona, el arte urbano se convierte en una potente herramienta integradora dentro de la ciudad, por lo que el arte de las calles es llevado a las galerías. De igual manera, el centro concibe una escuela con visión empresarial y enseñanza integral, en donde el estudiante puede insertarse en el mundo laboral dentro de un corto plazo. / Being in contact with the arts brings us many benefits, thats why the center has as its main objective, the difussion of art and culture, where creative expression responds to a purpose and to a use. Diploma thesis is focused on younger school age children´s drawings. Theoretic part gives information about the stages of younger school age, describes the art development of children and it deals in more detail with the concept of creativity. The thesis gives a characteristic of art taught at a primary school and fine art at an art school in its last part. Practical part of this diploma thesis analyzes a set of 64 drawings of children aged 8-9 years. Its aim is to compare the drawing expression and to find differences in drawings on the given, theme between two groups of children, children from a common elementary school and children from an art school who visit fine arts lessons.

The subject of this project is a new building of art school in the administrative area Brno – Královo Pole. It is a stand-alone building with two above-ground floors. The building is made of brick from (lime-sand blocks). The ceiling above the 1st floor is made of reinforced concrete, the ceiling above 2nd floor is made of pre-stressed reinforced concrete roof panels of spiroll type. The roofs are designed as a flat surcharge. The walls are double-layered, contact-insulated with fiber-cement cladding. The object is designed according to Feng Shui and as barrier-free for people with reduced mobility and orientation.
