Depuis le début des années 2000, la filiale française du groupe Axa, un des leaders mondiaux du secteur de l’assurance, s’est engagée dans un long processus de “rationalisation” de son activité. L’informatisation du travail, la création de centres d’appels, dont certains déterritorialisés à Rabat au Maroc, participent d’une mutation de la relation entre l’assureur et ses assurés. Un contrat CIFRE avec la Direction du Service aux Clients de l’entreprise a permis une immersion, durant près de trois années, dans les différents lieux de la procédure d’indemnisation des incidents survenus dans l’habitat, que nous appelons petites catastrophes de la vie domestique. L’insertion de l’ethnographe au sein d’une « équipe opérationnelle » a permis l’observation du travail quotidien puis une campagne d’entretiens semi-directifs en France et à Rabat, dans les agences Axa et au domicile d’assurés sinistrés. La thèse cherche à éclairer la confrontation entre la singularité de la petite catastrophe et le modèle assurantiel (Zelizer, 1983). La dilatation de l’espace, la fragmentation du temps et l’anonymisation des interactions, orchestrées par des pratiques de gestion outillée, tendent à faire disparaître le contact physique et à accroître la distance entre le lieu de la petite catastrophe et celui de son évaluation. Elles modifient ainsi l’équilibre des interactions autour du calcul de la compensation financière en exacerbant le rapport à la voix. / Since the beginning of the century, the French subsidiary of the AXA Group, one of the world’s leading insurance companies, has been engaged in a long process of rationalising its business activities. The reorganisation and computerisation of work and the creation of call centres, with some located in Rabat (Morocco), are factors which lead to a change in the relationship between the insurer and the insured. In the frame of a CIFRE PhD Program with Axa Customer Services Management, I was totally immersed for almost three years in the administration of the company’s indemnity procedures for home insurance. I also conducted interviews with employees in France and Rabat (Morocco), in AXA branches and with customers at their home. This thesis examines the tension between the singular nature of the “petites catastrophes de la vie domestique” and the insurance model (Zelizer, 1983). The results revealed that spatial expansion, time fragmentation and partial anonymisation of interactions tend to eliminate physical contact and increase the distance between where the incident occurred and where it is assessed. These three factors modifie interactions around the calculation of financial payouts. They ‘re-personalize’ the relationship, lead to largely imaginary representations of the Other and intensify the connection with the voice.

Currently cellular therapies, such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), are produced at a small scale on a case-by-case basis, usually in a clinical or near-clinical setting. Meeting the demand for future cellular therapies will require a robust and scalable manufacturing process that is either designed around or controls the variation associated with biological starting materials. Understanding variation requires both a measure of the allowable variation (that does not negatively affect patient outcome) and the achievable variation (with current technology). The prevalence of HSCT makes it an ideal case study to prepare for more complex biological manufacturing with more challenging regulatory classifications.

Dessa kunder förlägger uppdrag hos DHL Supply Chain i Örebro för en bestämd betalning av tjänsten. Kunderna som ligger runt om Sverige beställer färdiga varor vid behov och får det distribuerat av DHL Supply Chain. Inriktningen i rapporten kommer att vara på Volvos lageravdelning och innehåller en studie av deras processer från inleverans av produkter, till utleverans. Syftet är att effektivisera verksamhetens processer i Volvos avdelning för att minska antal reklamationer som i dagsläget är för hög, vilket i sin tur kommer att minska kostnader samt höja leveranssäkerheten. Målet är att möjligtvis komma med förbättringsförslag som förbättrar flödet i Volvos avdelning. / This thesis project will be done in DHL Supply Chain in Örebro. The business in Örebro serve as an interim storage for two customers, Volvo and Ford, which share the warehouse but are two different units with respective processes. These customers place orders at DHL Supply Chain in Örebro for a fixed payment of the service. Customers located around Sweden order finished goods as needed and get it distributed by DHL Supply Chain. The focus of the report will be on Volvo's department in the store and will include a study of their processes from inbound delivery of products to the warehouse, to outbound delivery for costumers. The purpose is to enhance the efficiency of the business in Volvo's department to reduce the number of reclaims that is currently higher than intended, which in turn will reduce costs and increase delivery assurance. The goal is to possibly come up with improvement suggestions that improve the flow in Volvo department.

[pt] Um dos problemas encontrados na indústria do petróleo no
que diz respeito a garantia de escoamento durante produção
de óleo cru trata-se da deposição das frações parafínicas
no interior dos tubos.Gastos significantes estão associados
ao bloqueio parcial ou total das linhas de produção. O
procedimento mais aplicado para remoção mecânica destes
depósitos é a passagem de pigs. Uma das forças de contato
que atua no pig durante o procedimento de remoção deste
depósito é exercida pela camada de parafína depositada na
parede do tubo. À medida que se processa a remoção mecânica
e se estabelece o deslocamento do pig e da parafina
removida outras forças de contato se caracterizam. O
conhecimento da força necessária para quebra e remoção de
um depósito específico é um ponto chave para o planejamento
seguro e eficiente de uma operação de passagem de pig.
Este trabalho propõe-se a estudar experimentalmente a força
de contato deste depósito controlando as variáveis que
influenciam esta força, analisando os resultados de acordo
com os parâmetros envolvidos e os comparando com os
resultados obtidos com modelos disponíveis na literatura. / [en] Wax deposition inside transportation pipelines is a
relevant problem for the petroleum industry. Significant
capital and operatinal cost are associated with the total
or partial blockage of production lines. Pigging is the
most widely used technique for removing wax deposits.
The knowledge of the forces necessary to break and remove a
particular wax deposit are key to the safe and a efficient
design of a pigging operation. The present work presents an
experimental laboratory study of the forces necessary to
remove wax deposits inside a duct. The results obtained
with the experiments are used to validate predicting models
avaiable in the litErature.

Les enjeux liés à la circulation automobile internationale concernent le développement du commerce international ainsi que la libre circulation des personnes. Ce développement des échanges s'est fait malgré les divergences de leur législation respective. La circulation internationale va en effet engendrer des conflits de lois qu'il faudra résoudre par des mesures de coordination. Elle va également provoquer des conflits de juridictions impliquant la détermination du juge compétent pour trancher les réclamations. L'existence de cette circulation routière internationale a donc engendré une réglementation permettant de parvenir à une coordination entre les différentes lois applicables et de faciliter les démarches de la victime en lui évitant de recourir à un juge. Essentiellement privée à l'origine, la réglementation évoluera sous l'influence de la construction européenne. Le processus d'indemnisation d'une victime suit chronologiquement deux étapes. Tout d'abord, il s'agit de déterminer la loi applicable à la responsabilité civile. Celle-ci permet d'apprécier la responsabilité de l'auteur de l'accident et de fixer le quantum de l'indemnisation. Ensuite, il est procédé à sa mise en œuvre par l'assureur en application d'un contrat d'assurance. Le contenu de ce dernier devra être conforme à la législation régissant l'assurance obligatoire du pays de l'accident dont la fonction est de couvrir le montant de la dette de responsabilité. La coordination de la lex contratcus avec les dispositions régissant l'assurance obligatoire doit donc se faire en faveur de la lex loci delicti car elle présente l'avantage d'être neutre et prévisible pour l'ensemble des parties. / Issues related to international traffic related to the development of international trade and the free movement of person' trade. The development of trade was done despite differences in their respective legislation. International traffic with indeed lead to conflicts of laws that must be addressed by coordinating measures. It will also lead to conflicts of jurisdiction involving the determination of the competent court to adjudicate claims. The existence of this international traffic has created a regulation to achieve coordination between the various applicable laws and facilitate the process of the victim by avoiding recourse to a judge. Essentially private in origin, regulation evolves under the influence of European integration. The compensation of a victim process chronologically follows two steps. Firstly, it is to determine the law applicable to civil liability. This allows assessing the responsibility of the author of the accident and determine the quantum of compensation. Then he proceeded to its implementation by the insurer under an insurance contract. The content of the latter must comply with the laws governing compulsory insurance in the country of the accident whose function is to cover the amount of the debt liability. Coordinating the lex contratcus with the provisions governing compulsory insurance must be in favor of the lex loci delicti because it has the advantage of being neutral and predictable for all parties.

Improving the Security of Building Automation Systems Through an seL4-based Communication FrameworkHabeeb, Richard 22 March 2018 (has links)
Existing Building Automation Systems (BASs) and Building Automation Networks (BANs) have been shown to have serious cybersecurity problems. Due to the safety-critical and interconnected nature of building subsystems, local and network access control needs to be finer grained, taking into consideration the varying criticality of applications running on heterogeneous devices. In this paper, we present a secure communication framework for BASs that 1) enforces rich access control policy for operating system services and objects, leveraging a microkernel-based architecture; 2) supports fine-grained network access control on a per-process basis; 3) unifies the security control of inter-device and intra-device communication using proxy processes; 4) tunnels legacy insecure communication protocols (e.g., BACnet) through a secure channel, such as SSL, in a manner transparent to legacy applications. We implemented the framework on seL4, a formally verified microkernel. We conducted extensive experiments and analysis to compare the performance and effectiveness of our communication systems against a traditional Linux-based implementation of the same control scenario. Our experiments show that the communication performance of our system is faster or comparable to the Linux-based architecture in embedded systems.
